1. *Time* for another bid I guess - how about $9.30?
2. I like Castlevania, Paperboy, and Tetris(of course). Hubbs added Metroid 2, Super RC Pro-Am and Super Mario Land. It's a start. Don't know anything about EMU's, Roms, and the like - I'm sorry.
3. Thank you. Looking for inexpensive 5200 more then anything and probably will msg Mr.RetroGamer if we can't find any. If I say all our controllers are working - Murphy's law dictates that we'll be kicked sorely and besides it's always good to have back-up.
4. We were wondering the same since we have a lot of video game stuff that we're sorting out, lol. Of course I wouldn't complain if you shared, in fact me an hubby both wouldn't mind a PM in our inboxes about that certain subjet. - and if we knew where you were we would probably show up just to bug you anyway.
5. Are you sure those are new? I am on my laptop so the picture isn't as good for me as when I am on my desktop but all of the new Coleco controllers that I have seen have been in boxes. 882566 Big surprise that you responded. (j/k of course) Was anyone able to get the "buyer shipping calculator" to work. We're in desperate need of certain controllers.
6. I would say directly in our area we can find PS1 and N64. Sometimes if we dig we can come across Genesis and occasionally NES or SNES. There is one person very locally who is apparently buying up every NES thing they find though. EB here still sells Genesis,SNES, some Dreamcast and & N64 - you just have to know which stores. There's one store we know of that carries Saturn games but anything not scratched has already been bought. The rest of the disks looked like someone took a brillo pad to them or used them for sandpaper. I haven't seen one Atari thing this year except for our collection and what we've bought on line. Classicgamingguy you forgot to add - nunca, nicho and non as well as zilch and zero. Yuppicide if you feel like sharing, even shoot me a PM, and tell me where in Jersey you're finding Atari cause it's pretty damn near wiped out in the Philly area? I know Mailbok and Shining Slade are in "the area" so to speak as well as a couple other AA members, so maybe they are finding all the deals. *shrug* At least someone would be then.
7. Really good idea! Even if it was 25$ a year would be fine with us, especially if it meant keeping AA up and running and since it seems every store has them you could always make up Membership Cards or throw in a small atari pin. Or for a large donation you could include a coupon for 10% off your next purchase at the AA store as part of the package. (Something like that.) Hubby did have an idea, lol. - Like those public television drives, with different levels of membership and certain dollar amount donation gets you a certain "thank you gift". *insert illicit proposition here*
8. I sneaked in and there were two old guys playing pinochle. I thought there would be hookers and a buffet or hookers on the buffet or a buffet on the hookers, but there was nothing. One of the old guys smelled like BENGAY®, so I got the hell out of there before my nose hairs started to burn. 880621 That's just cause the Bea Arthur impersonator hadn't arrived yet to shake things up.
9. We - Z28in82 and myself, have also heard from both the Goddess and Albert and seen them very hard at work, and the wonderful set-ups at shows and we want to support AA as much as possible as well. It's a lot of money that's being spent to keep everything up and running as well as a lot of personal time. They do so much for the community and yes I believe the community should do something for them in return :!: I do hate Pop-up ad's and flash ones, but banner ad's aren't a big deal to me. Especially if they are video game related. Yes, to some it might be comercialized, but we would rather see the ad's then lose a place many of us call On-Line "Home". We also like the idea of a more obvious donation box too if that would help.
10. Congrats on the find! Good to see games are still out there! One day again we'll find some Atari games cheap around here. (We don't have Ram It yet. )
11. Oddly, we pre-ordered the FB2, lol, a while back.
12. I love Cart Commander! Especially with having a lot of systems to collect for just having a few data bases are a luxury - much easier to put an x in the box and have all the info come up then manually enter it. Right now I am modifying a list under CC to catalog all our hundreds of DVDs and it's working really well so far! Using label type for movie type - Action, Kids, Comedy, Disney, Animated etc... and Mfg is either a series like Monty Python, Jackie Chan,Scooby Doo or Muppets and/or specialties like Disney Treasure tins, Widescreen Versions, Limited edition, Gold Collection, Collectors Edition or even if its a used/former rental etc. Again when adding stuff although the original entries are a pain in the ass, it's much nicer and quicker in the long run to pick details from a list. All our Atari,Genesis,SNES,N64 games are currently stored in shoe boxes - hubby's size 14 boxes and a few smaller ones in alphabetical order. The doubles are just lined up in a cardboard box. Our NES games are lined up in a wooden movie cabinet w/ dual doors. Our PS 1&2, Saturn games are on a DVD rack. We did buy long rubbermaid bins so the carts will eventually be moved. The downstairs is fairly cool and I occasionally run a de-humidifier (when I remember). Our games are all played but pretty much anything R7 and above are kept in plastic bags as well.
13. He didn't pay anything at all?! That would piss me off especially with EPay fees. Tell him if he doesn't send you the $, you've already had practice at leaving him a neg before... Oh, and to have a nice day.
14. Oddly enough, we bid on your collection for the same reason you are selling it... We want to start a family and it would be a good stay-at-home buisness plus I'd be on bed rest for health reasons/conditions and it would probably take 9 months to organize, test and catalog everything, lol. Sadly, it will (hopefully for you anyway) most likely go way out of our affordability range at the moment. But, ya never know. At least we got the first bid in and it felt good for a moment.
15. Agreed as well. I would also send him the game anyway - this way he can't file a complaint w/ EPay or PayPal for not receiving his product. And if the guy is *that* hard up for a positive feedback there is probably a good reason why.
16. I always wanted to take a road trip down to Florida - never been there before. | (That and we don't have Pitfall II.)
17. It pisses me the hell off when people pull auctions. If they are too stupid to either set a higher start price or use a reserve then they shouldn't run auctions. Oh and you can't forget those assholes who have their friends bid/shill/ to make the prices go up. I really don't trust Epay 99% of the time.
18. Good things happen to good people. All we have is an extra copy of Pacman for 5200 ( I think) but I would so send it there. He He, that really is a great story all around and with a 'happy ending' too.
19. One of the reasons I like to bid within the last minute - there's rarely a chance for a second bid and I only enter the amount I am willing to pay up to. It doesn't sound like you did *that* bad. Maybe a lil pricy but if they work and you needed/wanted them, it happens. I have a hard time using standard XBox controllers as well - they hurt my hands.
20. Maybe someone should send him a link to where we are making fun of his auction that tries to extort money out of some unsuspecting sucker? I've had people ask me at yard sales when inquiring about "old" games if 2600s are really worth like "200$" or something because they are so rare and so old. Guess he musta been listening in.
21. There are 2 people on AA who have gotten more money then I care to admit or want to know - Mindfield is one of them. Hrmmm... Hubbs isn't home.| With that being said... PM sent.
22. Should have said Thank You earlier - Friggin awesome guy to deal with and I don't even mind admitting it in public. ( I didn't expect such nice packing either. )
23. Just curious but did he sell any of "his list" to anyone? I didn't make the cut with my offer.
24. Proverbial "open can of worms" question - So what is the limit on emoticons per post anyway?
