With all the toaster NES's I've seen get tossed by various people for blinking I could have made a small fortune!

Q: When is a "Music Machine" not a "Music Mac
Chickybaby replied to Spirantho's topic in Auction Central
"Speed Bingo Math" and "Visible Solar System" aren't 2600 games either as far as I know. Maybe the seller doesn't know they aren't Atari Games. -
That's actually the cart from 2003. Here's the link from the store so you can read more about it: 2003 AtariAge Holiday GreetingCart ..Al Yer a tease. BTW Splatform sounds interesting. I hate to say though for us it'll probably come down to a Krok cart or a CC2 once we have some $. For anyone who's played or used both what are some thoughts?

You didn't offend me but we're just low on cash right now, since the person befre said something about being sure someone would take it for the cost of shipping, figured I'd put a bid in befroe someone else *grin*. You definitley have an item or two I'd be interested in, just would have to wait for the "better half" to take a look anyway.

So who's the biggest 2600 fan here? (whom also likes art?)
Chickybaby replied to Clint Thompson's topic in Atari 2600
I know I don't have the biggest 2600 collection, not even close but in the last 2 yrs we've amassed quite a bit including carts from the AA store and other unique ones. Artwork I could show you a few pictures of one of mine - (working on a new creation) quickest would be a pic of a completely playable music CD I gave hubbs for one of our anniversaries. Just an example of a blend of my love of technology and art (in a way). Collection pics I would have to take and it'd have to wait till tomorrow. -
We'd consider it for the cost of shipping.

That's a great start of a collection there! When I was about your age I started helping out at a local used book store in exchange for books. The lady that owns/runs the store is now a very dear friend of mine 15 years later and I still consider her store my place to hide when I want to get away from everything. Good luck and there is a ton of info here on almost if not every system as well as some very helpful and nice people. And again - Welcome to AtariAge!

Should i get the o2 or intellivision?
Chickybaby replied to sega saturn x's topic in Classic Console Discussion
If you can get a good enough deal I would try and snag both although I personally would take an Intellivision over the O2 especially if you didn't have an Atari (truly a crime). About the only thing that makes me think twice about the O2 would be the "ton of games" since the Intelly doesn't come with much. We only have 7 Intellivision games and 27 Odyssey 2 ones and haven't t had the $ to get to picking up stuff for that part of our collection. -
To Hell with last year's bunny's... Now on to some REAL artwork... Oh my God they are beautiful creations Shy One and to think, with shame I say I almost missed this thread. I've always wanted to do stained glass and my mother did make some awesome things. It's truly an awesome idea for lots of old 60s lamps I've seen and that my mother's family has and is always threatening to throw away. The first one is my very favorite of them all though. Beware there girlie as soon as we get our finances set (and hopefully soon before it's too late) I want one of everything!!! Your other half had better gift wrap one of those soldering stations for you with your talent!!! The description is hilarious yet really picturesque too. Over all my impression is ...

But in reality how many people really stop and don't bid because they recognize a name? If it's something someone wants badly or if it's something that rare they won't care. In fact, I would bet most times people don't care and are out only for themselves. I can't count the number of times I saw an auction either me or hubby really wanted for ourselves or as a gift for each other and someone (easily recognized from AA) outbid us. I won't even bid/buy on EPay anymore and would much rather go "private sale" or Marketplace here - many fewer fees and charges for all parties involved. Plus there is (at the very least a hope) that the person is honestly selling what's pictured. That CPUWIZ though, he's the biggest shady charecter around, so beaware and buy often. Or at least that's what our paypal account says we do.And he's sneaky too, sells amazing things with little or no warning. That and that Mindfield guy, he sells too much good stuff.

I don't understand why with something so valuable and things in general people bid like crazy at the beginning of an auction, especially when it's a really long one? Why not wait till towards the end to bid especially with something that many people would want at a lesser price? The longer a person's bid sits, the longer someone has a chance to beat it. (at least IMO)

Am I the only one doubting that PC will happen at all? I miss my friends dearly and that was about the best part of PC last year. We spent so much less last year compared to the year before. I really wish that instead of increasing the size they would have worked on the quality of vendors (granted no one can be as good as AA  ), or made it affordable for a common person to get a table and sell stuff not just vendors. I also have a bad feeling prices are going to go up a lot again next time around if PC does happen. And I have a sad feeling that it will be more corporate companies and glossier presentations which while it may look nice will make it harder to find any good deals and make longer lines and more people crammed into the space. I do hope that it does not end up in Philadelphia itself. Honestly I can't stand going to the city and what used to be a half hour drive takes an hour or more due to traffic and good luck finding parking when you get there. Maybe I am just jaded from living around here and having to deal with the traffic and crappy commute all the time, but I am really starting to get bummed out about PC in general and am much more happier in a get together like in Connecticut - which was so much fun, where a few great people personally worked so hard and was in one of the most beautifully decorated houses I've seen in a long time.

Seems like the right place...Ohio law regulates ebay sellers
Chickybaby replied to Hydian's topic in Auction Central
Even though I may not get all my money back - it is nice to get a good amount. But I think it also depends on the market for the items. If I knew a sports card I had but didn't want to sell started skyrocketing in value, I would at least be tempted to sell it when I thought I could get a lot of money for it, even though I may have only paid a few dollars for a pack of 8-12 cards and gotten lucky to find it. Most (if not all) of the people I know who do sell on Ebay don't treat it as a yard or garage sale but as a place to not only get rid of extra stuff but to make money on the items (hopefully a lot more then what they paid) while they are at it. -
Well, if he paid an yer feeling spiteful I am sure we could find a good home for Ms. Pacman. I am sorry you went through all that though but am very glad you made it home safely. It's really sad to see all kinds of bull$#!+ happen to great people, but thank you for letting us know about him at least.

12.95 shipping for a cuttle cart?! Priority anywhere in US for that size box would be what, 3.85. I wonder if there is any kind of guarantee if it doesn't work.
-
I don't have a couple of those titles, lol. It sounds better if you say something like the above mentioned 2-3$ plus the cost of shipping rather then including it in the cost. Some peope also might have wanted to purchase multiple games and since priority is 3.85 under 1 lb I think, paying multiple shipping charges turn some people off.

Chickybaby replied to Hydian's topic in Auction Central
As far as I know you can depending on the company. Many companies require you to purchase a set larger amounts of goods to receive "wholesale" discounts and at regular intervals and sign a contract to do so. And I hate to say with EPay I highly doubt most of the people or alot of the people have permits to sell stuff. I would also doubt that many of the people who are using EBay as a buisness are paying taxes etc/declaring sales on it especially people who buy from yard sales etc. I would bet there are also many ways to circumnavigate the "buying wholesale" thing such as buying out a lot of products from a store going out of buisness, purchasing a lot of clearance items after a particular holiday and probably the easiest having a lot of different Ebay selling names. Although I don't know how easy it would be to set up shell accounts. -
She's not even that good looking right down to her barely boobs, rounded stomache, bleached hair and bottled tan. I've seen much better looking girls. I would also worry about how much she sleeps around - some hookers may have less diseases. It is sad that a girl would think so little of her reputation and I feel really bad for her family. It also might be dangerous especially with the preditors I am sure an auction like that will attract. Almost afraid to wonder what E-bay will have a listing for next.

Well if you decide to dump some me an hubby are in PA as well. We have maybe about 200 NES games ourselves. Probably going to sell our DW 2 & 4 though and I guess they are our "most valuable" games I think we have, except maybe for the pac man's but those are among my favorite games to play. All our games are loose with good labels and for the most part I've found the games are fairly inexpensive to buy. Boxed games usually take up a lot of room so I don't really care about that. I didn't think a lot of people would collect for the system. It always impresses/amazes me to see people with complete or almost complete sets of games for multiple systems. I just wonder where the people live w/ all the games? We use Cart commander to keep track of games how about you guys?
-
With all the medical bills I have regularly if we had to sell some of the stuff, so be it. As it is we are looking through things. But some of the games I would never part with while alive and are irreplaceable for one reason or another. As horrible as this sounds - Has anyone figured out what will happen to their collections once they are muerte or written it in their wills who they'd want to care for their games?

For people who have (might have) pending deals with me:
Chickybaby replied to FireTiger's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers as well. I am so verry sorry and undersand how you are feeling. I am sure I can speak for other AA members when I say if you need anything, we'd try and help if we could. *huggz* -
Since I honestly don't know what the games are worth, although I am interested in a few I won't bother sending a PM. Besides myself, I am sure there are other people somewhere, some that may be new to collecting that won't know either and for us it may have been nice to word things a bit differently.

Sheesh, I hate greedy people. Remember all the crap on sale after the shuttle explosion - that was horrible. There is always willing to capitalize on a huge news-making event. We actually have 50th wedding anniversary certificates/congratulations from the vatican for 2 of my aunts/uncles I guess they would be "collectible" too. I think if you marry in the catholic church at 50 yrs of marriage it's automatic or was at any rate. As far as personal memorabelia, it seems people are always out to make money, sometimes at the cost of family history. Which truly disgusts me.
