  1. I like the SP for the lighted screen alone but it hurts my hands as well. My main favorite thing would have to be the battery life - it last a long long time as well as being able to play regular GB, GBC and GBA games. It's also nice because while I think the screen is more sensitive then the older systems it at least flips so it's a bit protected. The Castlevania games were really dark and being able to hook a worm light as well as the lighted screen helped. Although I do admit to mainly playing Tetris anyway.
  2. -Are there any games that do play well on the Flashback? -Do you think a 9 yr old boy with minor disabilites/challenges could play one and be able to maneuver around well enough? Also, does anyone think that there would be any games he likes on it? Hes never been exposed to older systems & is used to playing my dreamcast and playstation - fishing/shooting/side scrollers. I would love to introduce & get him playing classic games. He's rough on things and I wouldn't want him to break our 1 'real' atari. -Oh yeah one more question that I know has been asked before - I also would be very interested in seeing the inside of one of these, if anyone is brave enough to take one apart that is.
  3. For a minute you scared me, thought you had lost an auction like us normal people do. Did you by any chance report that letter to Epay? He put a bid within the last seconds, yours was just a second or two later. His loss. Your gain. Congrats, people who cry and whine sometimes don't deserve to win. Haa Haa you won and he didn't. Ahh... Now back you your regularly sceduled maturity.
  4. Well, lol, sadly enough we only have one controller which works fine except for one of the bottom fire buttons. Could be worse. I shoudla put "a fully working 5200 controller" on my santa list darn it, I didn't even think of that until now.
  5. Now back to the Flashback... That is an important question for me as well since we didn't have the fortune of playing or owning this game - I wish we could. The 5200 controller we have really causes my hands to hurt a lot(arthritis) and since the controllers are so small on the Flashback I would be concerned for that as well. Especially if the price drops quite a bit or I find it at a yard sale next summer - I may be interested.
  6. I don't often stick up for Kepone but I will on this one to some regard for a change. We all already know how you feel about the flashback system, so there really isn't a need to post it in every thread about it. While I may not like it either I said my piece and are finished with the matter. I wouldn't have probably said what he did nor am I agreeing with the manner he spoke it in, but I am sure people interested in that system or in reading the various threads have seen quite a bit of your opinion in all of them and may have even been thinking that same thought or similar. If you've been "pissed on" so to speak by any individual here it may be your argumentative presentations or your seemingly belligerent attitude. You also don't have to always post to someone who counteracts or disagree swith your statements. God knows I am opinionated, hell most of the people on AA know it as well, lol. I still try to be as fair as possible to differing opinions, keep my mind open to change for the most part, and even if I do differ in thought with some people I still do my best to basically respect them. But, to repeatedly start or participate in arguments doesn't retain the continuity of open discussion. It also mars the forum. Our mods and administrators do a darn good job trying to keep order and I do respect them greatly. They volunteer for a job that many people couldn't be paid enough for.
  7. I thought Shrek 2 was only for PS2 not PS1? And I believe the 10$ games you were referring to were the "greatest hits" versions. Once a game slod so many copies they relabeled it w/ a green stripe and sold it at lower prices. PS2 have greatest hits games as well for 20$ I think and have a red top.
  8. I know we do give alot to charity at home already and I am sure other AA members do as well. Our local church does a gift tree for kids in an orphanage. What we rarely get to do is be able to surprise one of our friends here with a gift. I know quite a few of them are going through some rough times and a surprise gift would probably make their day too. You'd still have to get a gift for someone too 'if' I am reading the rules right and how would we know if someone really gave something to a charity? I don't know if ya meant 20$ for yourself, either, lol, but I don't know anyone who wouldn't mind that either. It just kinda defeats the purpose of getting to know each other better here and sharing the holidays with each other.
  9. Very cool! They look in really good shape. I hope that one day we would be able to share pics of our babies too - I really want a Galaga/Ms Pac Man Machine and a bunch of pinball ones.
  10. Ask lots of stupid questions? Post too many times in controversial threads? Send Albert Golden Girl tapes? Repeat and Repeat and Repeat. LOL, only the Atari gods know the answer to that one. If you don't know how to end up "in bad standing" then you are far better off and you are better off staying that way. But if you have to ask it's probably too late already.
  11. EB games here aren't allowed to sell them till tomorrow.
  12. I don't have many doubles of games and neither does shaun, but I just want to be able to have good times w/ friends. I just hope people do really ask for more then games. I figure at worst I'd have to give an AA gift cert. But I know there is tons of stuff in there I want, n am sure most people could probably find something too so it's all good. Aw come on, sign up - we did.
  13. Every thread Sidcrowe has made has picked fights w/ one person or another - like the one where it's only 30something yr old men on this forum so why not let them fight. Atari, Infogrames, other members no one is safe... Err I digress for a moment. (Remember kids:When someone goes off topic for a moment, they say "I digress.") We if you really knew him you'd know why he is called The Tempest. Mrrooowwwww... Couldn't resist. Anyway, to each their own,as far as opinions and Flashbacks go but I wouldn't be caught buying one. Maybe I will try it one day and like it, who knows. But I love these boards because there are so many different opinions, great people and a major amounts of helpful info. and so many talented people.
  14. You are way right Forgs and Flies was my faverate game! And it comes with a coaxial adapter too! I forgot to add blurry pictures to the list they almost always use those, and no way to zoom in so you can really check the titles.Oh yeah and a really long auction time. Nah I shouldn't pick on him - there are a lot of fun titles included. I think we are even missing a couple of them ourselves.
  15. Dude, you just don't know when to quit do you? We all agree on the fact that we have differing opinions and people are entitled to them, regardless of who they are or who they work for.
  16. Anyone else having a hard time with their wish list stuff? I am up to only a couple things, lol. I am so used to being the one to shop for everyone in our family I don't know what to write for my own - I usually just say 'Send money I promise I won't return it because I don't like it'!
  17. Honestly, to me it doesn't matter who Curt works for. He has been at PC the past few years and we both have the utmost respect for him. His knowledge is quite amazing as well as his reflexes. For all we know he could have put himself in a position compromising his employment or even a position for litigation by disclosing what he did. We should instead be grateful that someone cared enough about the community to share even that. The main point I have read all along is that the Infogrames purposefully cut costs as much as possible, didn't even bother with quality development and threw together something "new" just so they could make the holiday rush and capitolize off of people's lack of knowledge and experience. I have less respect for the company now then ever before, if that's possible. The main thing I did see from Curt's post is that the programmers didn't have many choices and did the best they could with what was given. Personally, I feel sorry for them being stuck putting out lesser quality material when I am sure if given the right amount of time to work they knew it could have been stellar.
  18. Very true! I'll second that one. FYI : Most people don't appreciate being treated as an experiment in a lab just so you could have a little "pleasure". Future offers from the same individual are treated with little regard and more often then not disdain at best. Now you are taking up my valuable time when I could be doing something more constructive like watching my mice run in their wheels for example. They are very competative lil buggers. My money is on the white one. Oh wait, all 3 are white.
  19. Yay! Count me "IN" as well. This sounds like something that can make a lot of people's day.
  20. If it's really that bad just save the reciept and return it later - at least maybe the company will get the hint it's defective and you can still relieve that itch to by the system. (you could just save yourself the pain and get crack creme and that should take care of the itch better). If the sales people ask why your returning it you can start spewing technical jargon like "sprites handling" or just copy the list of complaints from this thread as to why its defective and read them loudly, they should refund your money & hurry you out then.
  21. I like the idea of all members involved to submit a few/3 or so items to chose from even if they aren't all atari/game related common items even a belt or wallet or dvd/vhs movie something like that... this way they would be easier to find. Some things that can be found at almost any WalMart/Kmart/EB or Gamestop or even gift certificates to stores. Items that you could go almost anywhere and find. Nothing personal but I wouldn't go through lists of people collections. Nor have to scour second hand shops to try and find that item. I also wouldn't have to ask other AA members if they have a certain cart for sale.
  22. Me and z28 will be happy to each participate as well. And if you need a volunteer/ sucker I may be interested since I', at home more but before I say yes I just want to make sure I understand this correctly. - Will the gifts only be atari/video game related items and will there be a limit as to how many AA members can sign up? - Also there would have to be a certain time frame by which everyone has to register, everyones wish list has to be submitted & everything would have to be shipped. - As far as address information how would that be handled as well as international members, since I know shipping can get pricy. - I just wouldn't want the price cap to be more then 20$ or end up w/ some really obscure wish list items. How many items per person's list - 3? - When the "package is recieved in the mail who will the sender be from "secret santa" and no return address in which case people would need to keep their shipping receipt? I have never done one of these before....can you tell? So basically 1 person would be in charge of setting up a master list of names & pulling random members names "out of a hats" to match up with who they would be buying a gift for. This mystery person would also be the only one to know who is giving who presents,as well as what people asked for on their list... unless someone tells. **** Will this person also not be held liable if someone renigs on the deal or stuff gets lost in the mail or people change their minds on participating or if people say they that their gift isnt exactly what they wanted?****
  23. We want more details, it's friggin awesome looking. Very creative! I love the hardwood *drool* ... and yes we'll take one as well, but won't be as picky - can we have ours by Valentines Day or Easter (at the latest) in '05 please?
