  1. glad to hear it! sounds exciting!
  2. let's ask. @lapetino you out there? we want to congratulate you on the job and ask how it's going!
  3. This is the type of thing where I could see VR coming into play. if you could see the room, and your coworkers, and could talk to them while making adjustments to the controls. sort of the way the star trek VR bridge was supposed to work, but this would be a lot more complicated, especially if it were designed off the original specs of the machinery. someone in another thread was joking about needing a 1,500 page manual to hang off the side of an arcade version of lunar lander that had the apollo controls. same thing here! you'd need training just to play it! my kind of game...
  4. gotta update my copy of stella and take a look! i will get back to you...
  5. sort of looks like a submarine, but I like the shape. might be that if you change the colors a little, it would look more steamboaty. and if you can get the sidewheel to animate, you're in business!
  6. I think the issue was that: * Driver was a popular franchise * atari was working on driv3r for three years - it was enormous and very over budget * in the interim, the grand theft auto really took off * atari decided that it was vital to release driv3r before grand theft auto san andreas was released * atari traded advance copies to a couple of publications in exchange for high ratings to help goose anticipation and sales * atari released the game in an unfinished and basically unplayable state * when the gaming public found out how problematic the game actually was, they opted not to buy - not sure you can call that a boycott * atari lost a huge amount of money on the game * driv3r was never fully finished and the IP was eventually sold off * and atari lost so much money that it really jeopardized their business going forward. it's a really weird story
  7. Executive level problem solving. Give this man a raise and shares in the company.

  13. Right up there with, "Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose. And sometimes, it rains." you'll need to find a way to work that into champsports baseball...
  14. If you can't have a good interactive experience by placing one plastic device into another, what *can* you have a good interactive experience with?
  15. are you going to release sales figs, or are those going to be in annual reports? or is that proprietary info? as always, it's interesting to see how the perception compares to the actual numbers. but I understand if no one wants to release that info publicly.
  16. was that 10 years ago? holy smokes!
  17. if it's wormwood, it could be absinthe flavored... trippy might be appropriate for atari!
