Already got a Switch, barely ever use it. At least Google is a recognizable brand and they're going to... well.... come out with something. Lol.
-
I actually almost want to dispute my charge as well. I'm at the pushing point where I just might do so. Then I'd put that returned money towards the Google console, because Sega's a major partner with them.
-
Lol, yeah. Well the interesting thing is, they gave off this impression like this was a new start for Atari, and a new team, etc. So it's funny to just see them fuck up all over the place.
-
I figured this time would be more catastrophic because they've been marketing themselves all over the place online-- YouTube, Facebook, gaming websites, tech websites, etc. Sure, only ~11,000 or so backed the project (I don't remember the exact number), but probably millions of people saw those ads and recognize the Atari branding. If Atari fails to deliver a console, I would guess this news would be widespread all over the internet, and maybe even on TV. This was also kind of why earlier I just couldn't believe it when people were saying this was a scam. Who would mess up that badly with all the publicity they've created? Wellp, apparently Atari would. xD

Indiegogo's probably going to be looking at a couple thousand people (at least) knocking on their door for a refund. And if they don't give it to them, this incident is going to spread like wildfire through word-of-mouth and absolutely KILL their reputation. They might as well close shop at that point, because nobody will use that crowdfunding service again. I know I wouldn't.

I got another email from Indiegogo saying the campaign is under review to make sure they're following the TOS. It's basically a carbon-copy of the first email they sent me, but I didn't send any new reports into them. Not sure what that means. o:
-
Well, because of that, your taco post got pushed down so far that it's no longer visible unless you hit "More comments" XDD So maybe they won't delete it when they get around to moderating the next few posts ;O
-
I think the thing that baffles me the most is how people STILL don't fucking get the difference between "getting mad because nothing was delivered" and "getting mad because there haven't been any good updates". LOL I've also stated that to these guys on the Indiegogo page several times, and it never clicked in their heads.
-
Now people on the indiegogo campaign that haven't even commented before are saying something and asking for updates. o w o Kinda disproves James Joseph Sulivan's theory that I have a "clan" of people that want updates. It's basically everyone. They're just now reaching out because they probably backed the campaign and forgot about it until just now. XP
-
Oh yeah.... I forgot I gave you access to my bank account to know how much money I has. o u o LOL
-
I don't agree with that mindset honestly... Obviously it's still early to blame Atari for not delivering (like Flojo said), but in the case that they DON'T deliver, I blame both Indiegogo and Atari. I will also say that I've learned a lesson-- and that is to disregard both brands completely. But it is ultimately their wrongdoings and they should be disciplined. No background research should be necessary if you're a "good and honest" platform and/or company.
-
The enablers are part of the issue, yeah, but Indiegogo definitely deserves finger pointing. It's like this-- say for example you get robbed from your house but you don't have a security system installed in the first place..... Yes, you could say you "enabled" the burglar to break into your house; but it's still their fault for engaging in the robbery. If no actions are taken to prosecute the person that robbed you, they will continuously keep doing it and won't be influenced to change their behavior. Getting back to Indiegogo, if no action is taken against either them or Atari, the same thing will occur time and time again to other people unaware of the situation.
-
Yeah.... They really screwed themselves here. It's funny, because I've even backed things on Indiegogo that eventually got delivered to me and everything. But this campaign was being pushed everywhere. I saw advertisements all over the place for the VCS, so I was certain that if they were going to publicize it that much, there'd be no way they'd let themselves mess up so badly. I guess even my favorite company has screwed up royally as well, with the Sega Saturn launch, and the 32X, etc. Companies are weird dude...
-
Trust me, if nothing gets delivered on this thing, I'll never use Indiegogo again, and I'll be sure to spread negative word-of-mouth about it on Facebook, around my circle of friends, etc. I also won't buy any new merchandise Atari makes, even if some major buyout occurred in the future. Both brands will be on my blacklist. That's how much it will turn me against them.
-
Nobody's touchin my comments though. I feel like im the mediator in this whole flimflam. xDD
-
Yeah. People are weird brah
-
Yeah, the whole thing seems like it's falling apart now. It might've been bad before, but Atari really shot themselves in the head with that 10th "update".
-
Yup, that's exactly the same message I got back from them a few days ago when I sent mine. No response from them yet.
-
Imagine if like 300 more people ordered the joystick/modern controllers on the pretense that they'll get to post random comments in the Indiegogo page. xD That'd be epically hilarious.
-
Well, that's ONE way for them to attract more pre-orders. o u o HEH!
-
Everything seems to be back now. o w o Lol. No idea what happened, but obviously it was widespread. > w <
-
Wait, SERIOUSLY?!?! The campaign's deleted?
-
*sips Full Throttle energy drink* .…. oh, did Atari delete more comments again? EDIT: Now I'm getting an error when I try to open the page. o.o;; Something going on with Indiegogo?
-
Whaaaaat theeeee….. lol
-
Lol, not yet. o u o
