  1. I was actually half-joking (and failing at it) by mentioning adding friends on Atari OS. There won't be one when we get our units (if there is one, it likely won't have much functionality at all). But at any rate, if on some off-chance our consoles actually DO ship with Atari OS and it has that ability-- I'll absolutely add you as a friend too. To add to that, I definitely agree that their updates and PR are totally abysmal. If you talked to me back in October of 2018, I would've NEVER imagined it would get this out of hand. In my mind, the most logical thing to do would be to give people what they ask for in terms of communication and updates, so I would've figured as such that the company would proceed that way. Nope.... doesn't work that way. As it is, the company is trying to revitalize make a profit off of an already dead brand. By not listening to us, all they're doing is beating a dead horse at this point. I almost wonder if any organization would even care to pick up the Atari branding after this whole situation concludes, if Atari SA/Ataribox LLC does in fact go bankrupt.
  2. Yeah > 3 < Well... maybe we'll both get systems if they somehow manage to get them delivered to us.... o 3 o I'll be sure to add you as a friend on Atari OS. ;D By the way, just out of curiosity, who else here regrettably bought a console? o w o
  3. David Halliday does not look happy. o w o
  4. True, but the transaction was made so far back now that I likely can't approach PayPal/Indiegogo to get those funds back. Atari has the money. Also, I'm still a little curious about what I'm going to get delivered to me, if anything. Not trying to say it's going to be a good system, but it will be interesting to follow the rest of this situation and see how things pan out with it. It's kinda fun in a weird, twisted sort of way. xD
  5. I notice that a few of the backers commenting on the Indiegogo campaign are starting to get their doubts on the console as well-- even our friend John Phelan, who was bending over backwards to support this thing. James Joseph Sullivan is a blind, diehard supporter so he's not going to change his mind anytime soon, while all the others around him are pointing out flaws in his comments: The comments section in the indiegogo page seems to just be falling apart in general. Also, I am SUPER glad I stopped supporting the project and just stopped giving a shit before that "Atari VCS Supporters" group was made. Eeeuughh..... that situation is just weird...
  6. Dang.... They deleted that comment in UNDER 30 minutes. Quality customer service response times right there.
  7. Moreover, I wonder when Atari will delete Thomas's comment.
  8. Well, I'll tell you this-- even if the system never comes out, they did manage to get a case together, then got a re-designed version of that case together, and they got a prototype board of some sort (functionality unknown). They also had someone put that slideshow together detailing the blueprints of the board, front and back. It's actually made more progress than the Coleco Chameleon. Credit where credit's due I suppose...
  9. Atari really did this to themselves as far as I can see. Even if they made a contract/NDA with those other companies, it was a really flawed contract to begin with and should have never been signed. The problem is, Sony and Microsoft and Nintendo are allowed to get away with being secretive about their hardware projects, because they've proven dozens of times that they can launch successful hardware. Atari isn't even the same COMPANY anymore. They're probably literally smaller than the company I currently work for, of 35-40 employees. So Atari has to fulfill the burden of proof for everyone, and so far they refuse to. In their eyes, they believe they're as big as the other players, when they really aren't. That attitude is what is causing this iteration of Atari to commit suicide.
  10. Very true. I also had a good experience with the Ouya. Never understood all the bashing it got. I also developed a game for it (Game Catcher), and I got it on there right at the console's launch date. Since the platform was still very new, my game actually got noticed by a few journalists. Of course, they didn't like it-- but I still enjoyed the fact that that happened. xD Oh, and I actually really liked that commercial they made for it too. Lol. xD
  11. At least the product placement was actually paid for. ;3
  12. Just to see if anyone recorded the conference, I decided to go on YouTube and do a search for Atari VCS, then I sorted the videos in order by upload date...….. and apparently this was uploaded 9 hours ago (not even joking):
  13. That's a good question actually. o w o;; From what I can tell, all the different variants have that orange back to them, too. Pretty random... Lol.
  14. I like how they have what appears to be a nice giant screen behind them, but Fred probably forgot the HDMI cable in the car. o u o
  15. I was waiting for people to add dialogue to the picture, that's why when I found it I was like, "Oh shet.... this needs to go on AtariAge forums xD". LOL!
  16. I actually found the original image that clip came from, and it's even scarier:
  17. Here's a little picture of Steve Woz holding the VCS from that event o u o EDIT: Feeble attempt at fixing the image as best as I can. Why couldn't they just directly upload the original video or image online? Jeez... Original source: https://www.picbear.org/media/B3wBX2kjpfv
  18. I'm actually kinda curious who would win in a fight-- Fred or Steve. o u o Fred kinda towers over Steve and looks a little more intimidating, but Steve can probably run over Fred with his motorcycle.
  19. Fully expect to get negative 20 pictures or videos about it. Meaning, that's how much Atari owes backers at this point.
  20. It definitely seems like they've shifted their focus to marketing it as a Linux PC/HTPC/IoT device instead of a game console. Their marketing for it as a game console was non-existent anyway.
  21. Lul, I would but I'm at work. I'll listen to it tonight though. o u o
  22. Atari's apparently revealing the VCS in 2 days..? O.o Is this accurate?
  23. Nice! I actually haven't heard that song by Styx before. For some reason, the face on the cover reminds me of this at first glance:
  24. I think Indiegogo should just delete the TOS page. It's wasting server space, and it's not like they enforce it anyway. xD
