  1. I am QUITE jealous of that IB vapor trail you have there. the only copy of that game I have found within a days drive was at a Play-n-Trade in Buffalo. It was beat, and they wanted 20.00 bucks for it, loose.
  2. Sqoon is a crazy little NES game with submarines and killer whales and crabs who hide gold. I just finally found a copy locally and couldn't beleive how awesome it is. If you haven't heard of it you NEED to check it out. This guy does it better justice then I can http://hardcoregaming101.net/sqoon/sqoon.htm
  3. That seems a bit high to me, I've seen them as low as 350-500. Thanks for the heads up though fellow Rochesterian.
  4. Yeah this tripped me up a bit at first when i started, average size pics are too big to post here. my solution- open the pic with mspaint, shrink it down a bit, and it should come in under the two meg minimum. hope this helps.
  5. Yeeeaaaah, as far as I can tell, the owner of the store is kind of lacking in the personality department. i've only ever bought used games from him. outside of that, I wouldn't trust him as far as I can throw him.
  6. I have always been a fan of the Adventure Island games. When I was a kid i used to rent them all the time. Now as an adult, I've picked them up again, and me and my GF have put serious efforts into beating them, mostly adventure island 2. We don't attempt it all in one run, we use the level select code to go back to the island we left off on. My point is, as much as I love these games, they are cruel. We have been tearing our hair out on the seventh island of Adventure Island 2 for over a month now. has anyone else attempted completing these games? or just want to show some Love/Hate for Master Higgins? P.S. Those damn frogs are from the pits of hell, and have now joined the pantheon of my most hated foes, right along side that damn spider from Centipede.
  7. A short list of 2012 victories- Metal Storm NES Sol Deace GEN Fire Shark GEN Child of Eden 360 Super C. Twice. on one continue. end score 584,880. and no, I didn't use the code .
  8. My god yes. When I moved out of my parents house years ago I had one of those "I'm an adult now, I should sell this stuff" moments. regrettable. I had 200 nes, 100 sms, 35 gen, VB stuff, CDX, just tons of stuff. I didn't sell it all. I kept my snes with a handful of games, 7800 with all the 78's as well as a few favorite 26's, my neo geo, vectrex, and thank god, my TG16/duo.pcengine stuff. almost all of the stuff I sold has gone up exponentially in value. I sold my entire Gen collection, witch was mostly shooters, for about 35 dollars. Sold a snow bros for 20, same with a bonk for nes. *sob* this was before i was quite as ebay savy as i am now, so I got hosed on most everything.
  9. That would be excellent, as I am technologically backwards. I don't even have a facebook.
  10. This is half the reason i started this thread- to see what kind of interest such an event would get. maybe invite local vendors, display your rare items, trade/swap, that sort of thing.
  11. Game On, huh? How does it compare to Game Craze? It's worth checking out, they aren't quite on par with game craze. He started off as a flea market vendor and turned it into a store. He actually has some kind of years old vendetta to settle with game craze apparently. . he's got a few unique things though, he had a complete Oddysey 1 with carrying case last time i was in there. I've bought a few things from him. He usually is pretty up to date on values of things, but he's pretty reasonable on most stuff.
  12. Any one who doesn't have the GB version should pick it up, there is a surprising amount of depth, puzzles and passwords if my memory serves me correctly. I have to track this one down again myself...
  13. Yeah I'm surprised there aren't more local shops down in your neck of the woods. seems like their would be a market to some degree. I guess most of this stuff goes to flea markets and garage sells down in that area.
  14. A short list in the monroe county area- Game craze, one in all three of the malls, and about 4 or 5 around the county Game Players unlimited in brockport/batavia Heckle and Jeckle Collectables in Chili, lots of crazy stuff, but his prices are laughable on most things. every once in a while something slips through, but the guy who owns it is kind of a tool And Game On in greece. So, yeah, I guess your missing out .
  15. Game Craze IS the best retro place in town, and the people working there vary. I'm on pretty good terms with some of the people at the west side game crazes. Paul at the stone road store in greece is generally the most well informed about old school stuff, but alot of people find his personality an aqcuired taste . He may be lurking in this very forum as we speak...... I don't mind the clueless teenagers so much, especially when they price the games .
  16. cool, glad to know im not the only one scanning all the old school cases in every game craze in town.
  17. I've just about given up on goodwills in my area- they almost universally do not put out good stuff. either that or someone else is beating me to it. Although recently I was donating some clothes at the goodwill near my house. While I was in the donation area I asked the guy in back if they ever get any "old video game stuff." He says "you mean like this kind of stuff?" and pulls a nomad and a few games out of a brown bag by the door. I asked him if it was for sale, he said he'd meet me around front with it. I didn't even ask about the price, and when he came around he handed me the nomad, Tiny toons, and jeapardy both CIB, with a price tag right smack in the middle of the Nomad's Screen- 5.99. Quite a steal, but the ONLY thing I've gotten from Goodwill in a while. The Salvo's and VOA's in the area are another story .
  18. Holding it down in the Rochester NY area. Lots of great retro stores in the area, not to mention alot of other great non video game related activities.
  19. I havent picked up granada yet, I saw a CIB one on the bay for 10 bucks and am still kicking myself for not snagging it.
  20. I've been really into snapping up Sega games (preferably complete) lately and have been surprised with how much I've enjoyed alot of the Renovation titles. I'm a big fan of shooters, and I have not been dissapointed. I picked up Sol-Deace today and was blown away! Other notable titles- Elemental Masters, Whip Rush, Arrow Flash, the list goes on, and the hunt continues. Any one else put any time into Renovation titles?
  21. Just did you a solid and put a link up on the NA site.
  22. Those look good enough to me . Honestly I'm surprised you haven't gotten more bites on this, The DUO-R and the JVC X'eye are priced pretty cheap. Maybe you should move the actual video game stuff to the top of the thread.
