Thanks guys, either going with the 8bitclassics or the Canadian, depending on shipping cost. -
Good source for an s-video cable for 130XE?
VicViper replied to VicViper's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Seems like all Myatari has in stock are s video splitters for monitors, looking for something to use with a TV. there is a guy in Canada, was hoping to spend a couple bucks less than the 22ish he was asking. Might be my only choice though. -
Trying to find a decent affordable S-Video cable for my 130XE, any better place to look than eBay?

Just loaded up a bunch of files from tigameshelf that say they require XB cart, I presume it's referring to the extended basic cart, but obviously can't put in the CAB cart with my finalgrom99 plugged in. When I looked for the files they didn't show up.

Any one else had this problem? just got my 32K sidecar, hooked it up to try it out and everything works EXCEPT, TI Scramble has garbled/muffled voice synth. The synth still works fine with other games, and when i was using my original PEB 32K Scramble voice worked fine no problem. Is this a known issue with the 32K sidecar?

Pretty cool CSS is in my city, are they still active though? looks like the web page was last updated in 2000.

Games YOU would like to see ported to TI-99

How's about Wavy Navy? Or some similar Galaxian esqe game? -
Just replaced the 9 pin cable real quick and cleaned out the contacts. WOW. What a difference between these and the CX40. I see why people pay the premium for them. Wish mine still had the hex sticker on top, looks like the sticker is worth more than the joystick!

Yeah that's it. I've been messing with Atari stuff for a great many years, can't believe I'd never seen one like this.

Did atari ever manufacture an "original" style joystick with microswitches? I've gotten one in a lot from Craigslist and it's a bit unusual. I suppose it's not Technically microswitches, there is an entire plastic frame under the top of the joystick, and each of the directionals for the stick has its own spring mounted inside the plastic frame. I'll post an imgur album later if this is something odd enough to warrant everyone taking a look, I've never seen one that wasn't just the plastic bubble membranes.doesnt look like a home hack, very professional. Of course, it doesn't work.

Is the RAM disc a special disk? I have very little experience with Floppy drives as i pretty early on decided not to mess with magnetic media and just use SD card devices. Definately stoked for that 320K though, now i can play Pang. For a second. Before it crashes

How the heck do i post pics from my phone? anyway, all the drives light up, havent hooked em up to the comp yet. the one XF551 has a rainbow ribbon cable and a four slotted plug that connects to the 3.5" floppy drive. No idea what to do with all that. The 1050 has a toggle switch on the side, witch is..... curious. it also has a sticker simply stating "BATCH" placed on top of it. I found a loose sticker in the box that says atari 800-800XL chips, The Impossible. the chips are as follows; "800XL", both of these chips are labeled J349A with the TI logo on them. the next ones are labeled "Atari 800" and are 8307 Atari 1981, and two smaller ones with a bunch of numbers on them. another one labeled CO16150, with a bunch of smaller chips.

I grabbed it, just hooked it up, it boots up as "the ultra speed" os, you have a 320k computer. SCORE. didn't work when I tried to toggle the ram switch, the right switch appears to toggle between the OS.

Are the xf551 power supplies hard t find?
-

Atari 800XL/130XE power supply compatibility
VicViper replied to VicViper's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
yeah, the lack of power supplies in the lot is a problem. I've sent an offer, will keep all posted. -
The post in question. https://rochester.craigslist.org/sys/d/vintage-atari-computer-stuff/6309685052.html Obviously not the best pic, but a few things caught my attention; There appears to be one, maybe two toggle switches on the back of the computer The two floppy drives under the printer are unclear, and ontop of the 1050 there appears to be 3.5" drive Bags of computer chips? cant tell what those are Any guesses on what any of this stuff is? im thinking about throwing an offer just because I'm interested in that sweet 128K of RAM.

Atari 800XL/130XE power supply compatibility
VicViper replied to VicViper's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Pardon my ignorance, lets just go with Power Supply. But it will work, good to know. about to post the ad in this forum here, as there are some odd things about it. -
Are the two power supplies interchangable? there is a 130XE on craigslist but it doesn't look like it has the AC.

I'm about to aqcuire a light pen and the Atari Graphics cart. I know there isn't much support out there, but what other programs or games work with it?
