Looks like the seller made it, by his description. He kind of wrote it ambiguously, but I interpreted it as: 1. He bought the cart loose. (I wasn't there, but it doesn't even look like one of the ones i've seen that came from CGE) 2. He made, or had the box and manual made custom. Just my opinion.

Just in case noone saw this in the NEW CONTENT - I know I didn't One of my very favorite arcade games!!! One day, I will be able to place a minty Star Castle cab right next to my Tempest! Thanks for sharing! -
I have the following: 1571 boxed Star NX-1000C printer (boxed) This has been in my closet for a while, so I would need to test it if you are interested. I also have a ton of miscellaneous modems, cords and power supplies. Thanks! Ben

Just received my CIB Stunt Cycle. It is awesome!!! Looks NIB...better than described. The box was packaged to survive a nuclear war (or USPS, take your pick). Communication was great throughout the entire process. the-topdog is an A+++ seller. I would highly recommend! Thanks again!

I'm going to see what I can find out about that app (if it is an app). One of my buddies is an app developer (and a classic gamer at heart). He knows a lot more about smartphone apps than me. I'll hit him up later and see what light he could shed on the subject.
-
I looked at that link and it seems to me (if I'm reading it correctly) that they are selling a smartphone app that searches the internet for 2600 roms. I don't think they are selling the roms themselves, just a search application. It doesn't even seem to be an emulator. It says "Atari 2600 Roms instantly search and finds atari 2600 roms to play on emulators found on the market and internet." It is unsettling that your homebrew somehow made that short list though. That means that your rom is likely dumped out there somewhere. Sorry to hear that.

It looks like the inner workings of a Flux Capacitor. It should work fine, but you need to get it up to 88 MPH. That, along with one point twenty-one jiggawatts of power and it should kick in just fine!

To clarify, my post was to answer your "general" question...not to flame atari181. It was just to answer your question. I spent a bunch of time writing my response to you (as clearly as possible) in the hopes of demonstrating the logic behind some of the comments. It was not written as commentary towards anyone (please re-read). In the future, if you are going to reply to a specific post, please answer to the specific post. That's why your comments seemed directed towards me quite specifically. No harm, no foul. It wasn't a general question. It was a specific question about atari181. I was answering your specific post. I quoted your post to show I'm talking to you, made references to the post, and explained more about my opinion. I think you just misunderstood what I meant and took it wrong. Nope. I didn't misunderstand anything. I answered a specific question YOU asked in your post. QUOTE (again...): "Maybe I'm just over looking something or since I'm fairly new here there is something I don't understand but I don't see how you selling your game is a bad thing. " I was explaining, quite CLEARLY, how this type of thing could be looked at negatively. Not atari181 specifically (notice I never mentioned that name), but rather, in the most general of terms. I couldn't have made my post any clearer. It was not inflammatory. It was not pointed at anyone in particular. Hell...I even stated at the end of the post that anyone can do whatever they want with their purchases. I simply showed the cause and effect. I didn't misunderstand anything. I replied to your first post with a clear answer. Not sure how it deserved this: QUOTE: "I don't see how that list applies to atari181 and how his sin was so bad that he deserved harsh responses like,"I can't believe this m***** f***** took your work and put it on ebay!". " Again (for the visually impaired), THAT LIST WAS NOT ABOUT ATARI181, NOR DID I EVER SAY ANY OF WHAT YOU QUOTED! It was a general answer to your general question, as quoted above. So, in conclusion, if you are going to reply to a post, quotes and all, make sure that the reply itself (and quotes) have something to do with the person you are replying to. If you don't understand that, then you are obviously just having a blast arguing for the hell of it. I was sincerely just trying to shed some light on the situation because I honestly thought you were confused as to why this type of activity would upset someone here at AA. Obviously, you were just trying to get a rise out of someone and I guess I was that sucker. I'll admit, I fell for it hook, line and sinker. Just an FYI...in the future, you might want to avoid entering a forum and asking "innocent" questions you already know the answer to. It just wastes all of our time (mine and yours both).

I think you should take a moment (and possibly a deep breath) and re-read my post. Nothing harsh in there...not at all. Actually, I thought you were asking for some clarification on why folks get a bit fired up over this topic. QUOTE "Maybe I'm just over looking something or since I'm fairly new here there is something I don't understand but I don't see how you selling your game is a bad thing. " All I was trying to do was explain it from another perspective. I never used harsh language or flamed anyone for selling their purchases on eBay. I just explained why this was a bit of a touchy subject, and what the possible outcome will be in the future, ie: $100 repros. I don't have any problem with folks charging more $$ for these releases in the future, but I do appreciate the fact that I can afford them currently. This is a hobby for me, not a business. In order to buy $100 carts, I need to really juggle my finances. If this is what ends up happening, I will unfortunately not be able to buy as many later on. Thats all I was trying to explain. I truly apologize if your feathers got ruffled, but i'm not exactly sure what my post said to warrant this.

Just to clarify my support for CPUWIZ in this situation, I will share my personal experience with the Power Lords purchase: When this was announced by CPUWIZ, I had only been a member here for a few days. I noticed that this wold not be available to new members, and I was a bit let down. Instead of bitching or complaining, I decided to PM CPUWIZ and ask him for an exception. He kindly said no and explained his reasoning. Here was his reply: CPUWIZ made every effort to accommodate my request, and I had my copy a little more than a week later. He did this for me...a complete stranger. But why would he do this? (taking a risk on getting stiffed through PayPal...taking a risk that I would sell it for a high price on eBay the second I received it) He did this because of my interest in his project. My overall interest in the hobby. Basically, he understood that I understood. Now, who would I be if I took that copy of Power Lords (for whatever my reasons) and posted it up on eBay for MORE THAN TWICE what CPUWIZ is charging??? I hate to say it, but someone knows fair well that they are, in a way, pissing in CPUWIZ's Cheerios...they simply don't care. PS: For anyone who just started collecting, here is a little insight into this odd corner of the hobby: If you buy an unreleased, un-dumped proto, it will cost you a bundle of cash. By dumping the rom and also making repro carts widely available, you DILUTE THE VALUE OF THE PROTO YOU JUST BOUGHT!!!! It is a hobbyist's way of "taking one for the team" so to speak, for everyone's benefit. The least we could do is support him and what he has done for all of us! -end rant...
-
Unfortunately, it wouldn't avoid anything of the sort. If he charged $40+shipping on eBay, then someone could buy it just as easy there and still flip it for $100. It would only work if he planned on having this be more than a "for limited time only" type of release. Then he could just set the quantity to 1,000,000 and sell them for eternity.
-
I stand corrected on the price: Quoting CPUWIZ: "Each cartridge (no box, no manual - maybe later in the year) will cost $40 + shipping" Still a loss / break even situation for CPUWIZ - IMHO. I completely agree with Stan tho...the game is super fun and unusual. PS> CPUWIZ already said he is still making these available! Buy it from CPUWIZ if anyone!!! Support the scene!!!

How is the 360 Slim durability so far?
bennybingo replied to Chuplayer's topic in Microsoft Xbox 360
One of my best friends just saw the red ring of death (or should I say red ring of fear) about two weeks ago. He freaked out and shut down the machine. Started it up the next day and had no problems. No problems since either, so he's not sure what caused it. I guess it could have just been a fluke. That's the only issue i've heard of so far. -

FS Complete boxed Spectravision/video *SOLD*

Beautiful collection!!! I wish I had that kind of $$$. Best of luck with the sale! -
I think it is just a professional courtesy and ethics type thing involved here. It isn't hard to see why it is upsetting to the folks who are kind enough to produce these rarities for all of us. Here is the scenario: 1. CPUWIZ shelled out a ton of money for the power lords proto. 2. CPUWIZ then buys all the cart shells, labels, ink, boards, etc. 3. CPUWIZ then puts in all the labor to produce it. 4. Finally, he makes it available to a limited number of collectors at only $25 a pop.(an obvious loss or break even scenario) 5. Someone flipps it for 4x the purchase price. I personally feel lucky to be included in an exclusive release, so I appreciate all CPUWIZ has done to make this available. I guess anyone can do what they want with a purchase, but don't be surprised to see releases like this start to be offered initially for $100+ in the future.

I got my Box of Crap today and it was fun to open! Here are the pics: #1. I thought I was the grand prize winner with this SEALED in box little Gem - #2. PS1 games...look like some fun! #3. Some controllers... I especially like the one that looks like the analog stick was partially EATEN! #4. Some N64, Sega Genesis and Atari carts. (all sports games...oh well, but the Atari stuff was sweet!) - #5. More Genesis sports games, a VTECH Little Einstein's game (), a Gameboy charger (missing cord) and some Atari manuals (once again...sweet on the Atari stuff!) - And that's all of the crap I received! Thanks again to Ax for all the work putting this together. I will be sure to partake in the next round!!!

Another great trade!!! Fast shipping, excellent packaging and most importantly, wccw is a fair and honest AA member. It is always a pleasure working with him.
