I just completed a wonderful transaction with HatefulGravey and I must say it has been a pleasure. He paid immediately, and shipped his trade items FAST! All items were packaged incredibly well and arrived safe.
Additionally, he is a nice person and was a pleasure to work with. Very thorough communication before, during and after.
Thank you again! I look forward to working with you in the future.

I have been going through and testing all of my 7800 units off and on for a month or so. I wanted to see if any of them were truely 100% compatable with all 2600 and 7800 titles. Unfortunately I did not have any of the most recent models such as the "A3" or "X" units to test.
I added the "X" serial number (NTSC) to the serial number list. I haven't seen anyone else who has one of these, so I'm not sure if it is an anomaly or not. If you need me to open it up and send you pics or information, I would be happy to help you with the data. Just let me know if I can assist in any way.

I just completed Xenosaga III, meaning I have completed the entire trilogy.
I'm a little late, and worse yet, I didn't even meet the original timeframe I gave myself to complete the saga when I determined to play through it. Regardless, here I am at the end of the journey. It took me a while, but I did finally make it.
All three of the games followed the same pattern for me. They had interesting beginnings which were quickly squandered. After hours upon hours of nothing interesting happening, or, in the case of Xenosaga II and III, having hours of the beginning taken up by stuff completely unrelated to the plot, I'd grow frustrated and put the game aside somewhere between the 15 and 20 hour mark. There the save game would rest for about a year before I'd get back to it.
In every case, about 5 hours more play through tedious side-story elements would get me back to the main story and things would become interesting again. From there forward, I'd be hooked until the end of the game. Each one was about 60-70 hours long.
Xenosaga III finally delivered on the epic promises of the series. It was quite a rush having all the pieces start falling into place instead of suffering one cryptic tease after another. Still, the plot was fairly random for most of the saga, and the best thing to do was just go with the flow and make the best of it. In the end, the plot turns out to explicitly be whatever you bring to it, and I was cool with that.
I've bitched about this series off and on over the past several years. Sometimes it was all very frustrating. However, I did enjoy myself. In fact, I find myself feeling sad right now. For these years, Shion and KOS-MOS have been my constant virtual companions. I knew the game was waiting for me to get back to it, and that was a source of anticipation as well as frustration. Like the ending of the game itself, it's a bittersweet goodbye.
I'm not sure what RPG I'll tackle next. I've been thinking about Phantasy Star 1, but I'm also considering getting back to Cross Edge. No matter what I pick, Xenosaga is going to be a tough act to follow. It was rare among console RPGs as a multi-game series which followed the same characters through several storylines. Although, considering how much I struggled with Xenosaga, I don't think I'd want to hop into another multi-gamer.

Anyone else here played all three of the Xenosaga games?
Congratulations on completing your quest. I haven't played them, but always had them on my rainy day list. Maybe I will go out and pick up the first one now and try it out!

I voted. I wonder how they established their picks. I can think of many games that failed to make the cut, but should of. All the same, the recognition from the Smithsonian is really cool!

Nice job with the numbers Benny... by all means, give 'em a call post haste. I had a deal go down once where it seemed like some double dipping was going on, but ScamPal rectified it.
And Italian buyers, from Italy that is. Pffft. Surprise! You broke the #1 golden rule when selling online: don't sell to Italia! More often than not, you will be screwed. Too many crooks over there.
I'd love to take the credit, but Atari81 had those numbers on the ready! (Good job 81!)
I usually just log in to my account and follow the "contact us" links which provide the customer service number, along with a call reference #. This helps eliminate some of the security questions and expedites the process a bit.

I had a dispute from a guy from Italy because he didn't get his package. So at the time I had a zero balance in the account so paypal took the money and I owed $38
I have since sold some things and brought the balance over zero. Now today he wants a refund which I was going to give him but right now I have zero in the account.
But wait! They already took the $38 out of my account because I lost $38 in sales when I brought the balance to zero again. Now they say they can't issue the refund because there's no money in my account. So it looks like they're trying to double dip???
I have 3 auctions ending tonight and since its less than 12 hours, I can't cancel the auctions and these people usually just paypal the money right away which means paypal is going to take my money and I'm going lose another $38. What to do???
:x:x:x:x:xCall PayPal immediately. They aren't always helpful, but I have been able to get some traction with them in the past this way. Just be sure to write everything down and MAKE SURE to get the customer service person's name. I hope this works out for you leaf!

Most companies have had SOS Syndrome since video games began. Remember when the only thing that was popular for over a decade were platform games with zero replayability? Now we have a bunch of first-person shooters with zero replayability. (Multiplayer doesn't count, especially if you don't use it.)
The "breaking news: most game designers don't respect us" type of articles are always kind of funny. Seems like most game designers have never respected us. They were more interested in selling strategy guides for their Die and Remember Static Action Puzzle Toilet Paper Games. They had no interest in randomness and replayability because it's hard to sell a walkthrough/strategy guide if everything in the game isn't etched in stone. If we were allowed to actually play and react to situations created with controlled randomness instead of being forced to memorize 'dance-steps,' the whole walkthrough/strategy guide industry might collapse! "We can't have that!" says Mr. Moneygrasper. "We must stop them from playing! Eliminate randomness! Eliminate replayability! Use unhealthy dirty tricks to get them hooked and squeeze as much money out of them as possible!"
You like to rail on & on about "replayability". I'd like to see your exact personal definition of that word.
In my humble opinion, Modern Warfare 2's campaign was very re-playable. Just my opinion though.

Not only for space and for price, but also for playability. I don't know about you all, but in my humble opinion, no matter how common, it is very hard for me to open a sealed game. I feel like I am helping to exterminate an endangered species!
For example, I have had on my shelf for the past year a copy of 7800 Dark Chambers - sealed in box. I wanted to play it last night and participate in the high score club games. I had to fight with myself until today, when I finally broke down and opened it. Now, this is by no means a "travesty", as this is rather common in the wild still. But when you think about it, there is only a set amount of these left in pristine condition, and I just opened up one of them. It is a moral dilemma which I am sure some would agree with my reasoning and others would not.
My reasoning is that I bought the game in order to play it, so opening it up is not that big of a deal. On the other hand, I could have been less impulsive and picked up a loose or opened copy off of eBay.
This is why I prefer loose copies which have clean, intact labels and instruction manuals if possible. They are fully playable with no guilt and playing these classic games is my main reason for purchase!

bought him 2 Evil Magician Returns games
it was fast and he is a friendly guy
Just got my copy of Evil Magician Returns in the mail. Byte Knight is an A++++ seller. Communicated well, shipped fast and packaged excellent.
As for the game, it is a ton of fun. Also, the box cart and manual were well produced. Definitely a nice addition to my collection!
Thanks again!

My weapon of choice in this game eventually turned out to be the Sniper Rifle.
Me too! That gun also allowed the element of surprise, as you could make a powerful hit from a distance!

Hey, if you don't like it, just don't read it, or ignore it if you like.
This was only ever meant to be a laugh about the hypocrassy of the situation, and a bit of tongue in cheek revenge.
While I was peacefully asleep this thread got hijacked by a few hotheads looking for a martyr.
Chillax

Hot heads? Tongue and cheek?
Everything I have said was making light of the (bizarre) situation. I just happen think it is hilarious that you are airing your personal issue with another user in a public thread. I guess it wasn't clear, but I am just having a blast making some jokes! If you don't want the public to put in their two cents, I will repeat my previous advice: A friendly suggestion to the OP...it's time for PM's.
I'm pretty sure the laughing emoticon (
) was clear to everyone else reading this thread, but since you seem to be sensitive about the subject I will apologize. Here goes:I am sorry to disturb your sleep with the heat vapors coming off my hot head!
PS: don't worry about me...I'm always chillaxin!

This thread is full of win!
Dear Moderators: This thread seems out of place in the Marketplace section...I suggest that it be promptly re-routed to the nearest hamper so it can be with the rest of the dirty laundry!

A friendly suggestion to the OP...it's time for PM's.

Anyone want to buy some rep points? I was going to just give them out to those who deserve them, but if you PM me, maybe I'll cut a side deal!

So cool!! I always wanted someone to release that one as a repro. It would be really cool to try that with the JoyBoard!

I got mine last night and I would say it has been done vary nicely, but the controls are a bit difficult. I would say that this would be a total WIN on the iPad, as it has a much larger screen and can be attached to one of these:

Not sure if the Atari app is compatible with the iPad or this cabinet, but if it is I would certainly buy it!

Back when I was a kid, the NY/NJ television station WPIX (channel 11) had a contest for viewers. The contest consisted of viewers writing in to the station with their name, address and phone # on a postcard. These cards would be picked at random and the person chosen would get a phone call from the station (if I remember correctly, it was an after school thing from 3 to 5 pm).
When they got the person on the phone, they would play an Intellivision game, live on TV! You would play games that only required a fire button and you would control this by shouting the word PIX each time you wanted to shoot. Winners who scored high enough would win prizes.
It seems like they had this in other television markets as well:

I always wanted to be on the show and win a T-Shirt or some cash!!! Does anyone else remember this?

I received the Intellivision I purchased from Coyo5050 today. It works great and looks awesome on my shelf of system boxes! He even included additional games which were not part of my original purchase! I really appreciate your help in starting my collection.
The item arrived lightning fast and was bomb proof packaged. Communication was great throughout the entire process. Thumbs up for being an excellent seller.
