The Misleading World Of Atari 2600 Box Art
bennybingo replied to Random Terrain's topic in Atari 2600
I wonder if in the early days of Atari if there was even the technology available to show an "actual screenshot". An artist's rendering perhaps, but I doubt they could have produced a true screenshot in 1978...but that's just a curiosity of mine. -
I remember going to Photon in Union NJ all the time! It was such a blast!

The Misleading World Of Atari 2600 Box Art
bennybingo replied to Random Terrain's topic in Atari 2600
This guy definitely was way too young to be a part of the Atari generation. I am certain of this because, based on his lame article, he obviously has NO IMAGINATION! It is my humble opinion that during the first run of original games like Adventure and arcade ports like Asteroids, you needed to use your imagination in order to get the full effect. This is why I still love Atari to this day. It required you to bask in the simplicity of the graphics and focus on the gameplay. I always found Atari games (when compared to their arcade counterparts of the time) to be similar to playing army with your friends in the backyard as a kid. It was always fun, but you really had to "let go" in order for that stick in your hand to become an M16! As for the boxes, some of those had more "re-playability" than the games themselves!!! -
Please only open that thing if you properly know how to! Side Note: I love when people join AA with an atom bomb first post like this...let the games begin!

It sounds like a bad solder point on the board where the power jack is connected. I know people have posted detailed repair instructions here before. Just try searching the archives...I'm sure it is in there. Best of luck!

Battlefield 3 Full Length 12 Minute Trailer Dropped
bennybingo replied to bennybingo's topic in Modern Console Discussion
The video says "based on PRE-ALPHA gameplay"...I wonder if this means the beta will be better or if they touched this up like crazy? I know that, as of late, developers have released some stunning trailers which ended up being very different when the game actually released. Supposedly, that is not the case here. Regardless, I think the trailer was visually stunning! -
One more reason for the nutbag politicians to say video games lead to violence!

I received the Intellivision I purchased from Coyo5050 today. It works great and looks awesome on my shelf of system boxes! He even included additional games which were not part of my original purchase! I really appreciate your help in starting my collection. The item arrived lightning fast and was bomb proof packaged. Communication was great throughout the entire process. Thumbs up for being an excellent seller.

I just completed a wonderful transaction with HatefulGravey and I must say it has been a pleasure. He paid immediately, and shipped his trade items FAST! All items were packaged incredibly well and arrived safe. Additionally, he is a nice person and was a pleasure to work with. Very thorough communication before, during and after. Thank you again! I look forward to working with you in the future.

I added the "X" serial number (NTSC) to the serial number list. I haven't seen anyone else who has one of these, so I'm not sure if it is an anomaly or not. If you need me to open it up and send you pics or information, I would be happy to help you with the data. Just let me know if I can assist in any way. -Ben

Congratulations on completing your quest. I haven't played them, but always had them on my rainy day list. Maybe I will go out and pick up the first one now and try it out!

Voting ends April 17 for the Smithsonian "Art of the Videogame" Exhibit
bennybingo replied to rob fulop's topic in Atari 2600
I voted. I wonder how they established their picks. I can think of many games that failed to make the cut, but should of. All the same, the recognition from the Smithsonian is really cool! -
I'd love to take the credit, but Atari81 had those numbers on the ready! (Good job 81!) I usually just log in to my account and follow the "contact us" links which provide the customer service number, along with a call reference #. This helps eliminate some of the security questions and expedites the process a bit.

Call PayPal immediately. They aren't always helpful, but I have been able to get some traction with them in the past this way. Just be sure to write everything down and MAKE SURE to get the customer service person's name. I hope this works out for you leaf!

how call of duty destroyed the world
bennybingo replied to xg4bx's topic in Modern Console Discussion
You like to rail on & on about "replayability". I'd like to see your exact personal definition of that word. In my humble opinion, Modern Warfare 2's campaign was very re-playable. Just my opinion though. -
Not only for space and for price, but also for playability. I don't know about you all, but in my humble opinion, no matter how common, it is very hard for me to open a sealed game. I feel like I am helping to exterminate an endangered species! For example, I have had on my shelf for the past year a copy of 7800 Dark Chambers - sealed in box. I wanted to play it last night and participate in the high score club games. I had to fight with myself until today, when I finally broke down and opened it. Now, this is by no means a "travesty", as this is rather common in the wild still. But when you think about it, there is only a set amount of these left in pristine condition, and I just opened up one of them. It is a moral dilemma which I am sure some would agree with my reasoning and others would not. My reasoning is that I bought the game in order to play it, so opening it up is not that big of a deal. On the other hand, I could have been less impulsive and picked up a loose or opened copy off of eBay. This is why I prefer loose copies which have clean, intact labels and instruction manuals if possible. They are fully playable with no guilt and playing these classic games is my main reason for purchase!

Just got my copy of Evil Magician Returns in the mail. Byte Knight is an A++++ seller. Communicated well, shipped fast and packaged excellent. As for the game, it is a ton of fun. Also, the box cart and manual were well produced. Definitely a nice addition to my collection! Thanks again!

Why don't they require mandatory psych evaluations prior to using eBay? What is with the dishonest chicken comment??? In any case, look at the bright side...I found you a new avatar Mr. leaf!!!

Me too! That gun also allowed the element of surprise, as you could make a powerful hit from a distance!

Hot heads? Tongue and cheek? Everything I have said was making light of the (bizarre) situation. I just happen think it is hilarious that you are airing your personal issue with another user in a public thread. I guess it wasn't clear, but I am just having a blast making some jokes! If you don't want the public to put in their two cents, I will repeat my previous advice: A friendly suggestion to the OP...it's time for PM's. I'm pretty sure the laughing emoticon ( ) was clear to everyone else reading this thread, but since you seem to be sensitive about the subject I will apologize. Here goes: I am sorry to disturb your sleep with the heat vapors coming off my hot head! PS: don't worry about me...I'm always chillaxin!
