  1. As the thread title states, I just saw this on eBay at a good price and i figured I'd let the AA folks know about a good deal on Mr. Do's Castle.

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 1706172555321?ff3=2&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&item=170617255532&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]

This listing is not my auction...I repeat -This is not my auction. Since I already have this in my collection, I thought it might help someone here at AA get this game at a good price. Caution to the buyer though...there is some negative feedback in the seller's past. But for $35, it might be worth the risk to someone. I hope this was helpful!

    -Benny

  2. I was watching that auction too, but I already have crazy climber and I just figured it wouldn't stop anywhere near the $43 end bid!

Great job!!! I hope that was something you needed. I paid $60 for my CC cart all by itself a ways back. Super good catch for eBay for sure!

  3. Nice score for $30!!

Thanks! I was amazed this passed by on eBay without another single bid! At first I thought I may have been missing some important detail about the auction. It all looks super good tho and after shipping it was about $60 total!

  4. I just got my briefcase in the mail today. Ebay purchase...amazing deal. Here's what I got:

  5. I didn't notice Berzerk or Battlezone on that list. Although, some may disagree with me regarding Battlezone, I think both of these titles deserve honorable mention when it comes to playable arcade ports. I love the port of Berzerk! It is one that I have never lost the desire to play since the day I originally got this back in the 1980's.

  6. I have 15 cleaned and ready (no labels) and I am working on more. I'll let you know when I have a group of 25 ready to ship. PM me with the details.

Also (just curious), what are you working on??? I loved the power lords cart! If you have something new brewing (Pink Panther perhapsicon_ponder.gif), I would be happy to work out a "store credit" of sorts. Let me know!

  7.

@Benny: Wow, $400-$500 for a Xybots? *That* particular buyer is going to have to be a real Atari or Xybots fan I'd guess.

That's just what I've seen here out east. I haven't seen that cabinet often and it is quite unique, but you are correct that it would require finding a very particular buyer.

  8. I would put the Xybots cab in the $400 to $500 price ball park. The monitor fix isn't too problematic. If a cap kit doesn't do it, a replacement wouldn't be too rough.

I couldn't price out the 1942 or asteroids, as their prices wildly vary (especially depending on your region). In my area, the NY NJ region, these cabs are fairly common (albeit not always in great shape). If someone is looking for one of these, they are either looking for a fixer-upper or a mint cab. This is what decides the price ultimately. Xybots cabs aren't super rare, but they aren't very common either.

A lot of what will decide the price on your collection will hinge on the demand in your area. I would also clean them up as best as possible and fix any defects you can, as it will make them more desirable to the collectors out there.

  9. I was unfortunately scammed by someone on ebay and purchased a whole bunch of PAL Atari 2600 carts thinking they were NTSC. Let me know what you are willing to pay for the lot+shipping. If you are interested in just a few titles, I would be willing to consider it, but would rather just sell the whole lot at once. Here is what I have:

    LOOSE CARTS -

    Breakout (w/ instructions)

    Galaxian (w/ instructions)

    Moon Patrol x2

    Star Wars The Arcade Game

    Pitfall II

    Sorcerer's Apprentice

    Pole Position

    Pac Man (w/ instructions)

    Battlezone (w/ instructions)

    Congo Bongo

    Pigs In Space

    Road Runner

    Space Invaders

    BOXED GAMES

    Combat

    Space Invaders

    Solaris

All games are tested and work. They are in decent shape save for a few of them being faded. Let me know if you are interested. I will post pics as soon as I can.

    Thanks!

    Benny

  10. BTW, I know some of you on here will say something like, "that's the breaks", but it's still not right.

    Phil

I highly doubt anyone here would disagree with you. This is why I am spending all my time here and much less trolling ePay for deals. I am sorry to hear that you got jipped.

eBay has always been a den of thieves but, here lately, it has gotten so much worse. Any time I bid on something on eBay and I really want it badly, I end up holding my breath for a week while I wait till it arrives in the mail...and that's if it arrives! Then the emails, disputes, etc. It really ends up being too stressful and disappointing. The money involved means so much to the greedy folks on the other end, when it is so much different to the true collector.

How about when you have a seller who gets a lower than expected final bid and is unhappy with the results. Then, the seller doesn't want to ship??? Emails back and forth for weeks, dispute with ePay and then, they ship it to you in a brown bag and it arrives looking like an elephant sat on it in the mail truck!

It seems that our society has completely lost its' moral compass. Not just on eBay...everywhere. All hail the mighty $$ icon_frown.gif
