  1. Just got my Smurfs CV controller and it is AWESOME!!! Fast shipping and amazing communication. I can't wait till my modded CV shows up later this week. Thanks again!!!
  2. I would be proud, but it felt easy....I guess I have just played too many video games in my life! ...on second thought, you can NEVER play too many video games!
  3. That's just what I've seen here out east. I haven't seen that cabinet often and it is quite unique, but you are correct that it would require finding a very particular buyer.
  4. I would put the Xybots cab in the $400 to $500 price ball park. The monitor fix isn't too problematic. If a cap kit doesn't do it, a replacement wouldn't be too rough. I couldn't price out the 1942 or asteroids, as their prices wildly vary (especially depending on your region). In my area, the NY NJ region, these cabs are fairly common (albeit not always in great shape). If someone is looking for one of these, they are either looking for a fixer-upper or a mint cab. This is what decides the price ultimately. Xybots cabs aren't super rare, but they aren't very common either. A lot of what will decide the price on your collection will hinge on the demand in your area. I would also clean them up as best as possible and fix any defects you can, as it will make them more desirable to the collectors out there.
  5. It is a difficult to find game, but the label is torn. I have seen better condition copies out there for about the same or less, but it is becoming harder to find in the wild.
  6. I was unfortunately scammed by someone on ebay and purchased a whole bunch of PAL Atari 2600 carts thinking they were NTSC. Let me know what you are willing to pay for the lot+shipping. If you are interested in just a few titles, I would be willing to consider it, but would rather just sell the whole lot at once. Here is what I have: LOOSE CARTS - Breakout (w/ instructions) Galaxian (w/ instructions) Moon Patrol x2 Star Wars The Arcade Game Pitfall II Sorcerer's Apprentice Pole Position Pac Man (w/ instructions) Battlezone (w/ instructions) Congo Bongo Pigs In Space Road Runner Space Invaders BOXED GAMES Combat Space Invaders Solaris All games are tested and work. They are in decent shape save for a few of them being faded. Let me know if you are interested. I will post pics as soon as I can. Thanks! Benny
  7. That's what happens in a society that has forgotten Gozer the Gozerian. ALL HAIL GOZER!!!
  8. I highly doubt anyone here would disagree with you. This is why I am spending all my time here and much less trolling ePay for deals. I am sorry to hear that you got jipped. eBay has always been a den of thieves but, here lately, it has gotten so much worse. Any time I bid on something on eBay and I really want it badly, I end up holding my breath for a week while I wait till it arrives in the mail...and that's if it arrives! Then the emails, disputes, etc. It really ends up being too stressful and disappointing. The money involved means so much to the greedy folks on the other end, when it is so much different to the true collector. How about when you have a seller who gets a lower than expected final bid and is unhappy with the results. Then, the seller doesn't want to ship??? Emails back and forth for weeks, dispute with ePay and then, they ship it to you in a brown bag and it arrives looking like an elephant sat on it in the mail truck! It seems that our society has completely lost its' moral compass. Not just on eBay...everywhere. All hail the mighty $$
  9. Trading macaroni for Atari carts!!!! I love it! It might be a first. Bump for being original! (although I might consider it later if I get hungry )
  10. I would love to get some feedback on this thing from someone here at AA: http://www.emotiv.com/ Does anyone know if this works well? Has anyone actually tried it out yet? It looks cool as advertised, but so many other things do...any input is appreciated!
  11. I already feel myself becoming nauseous... For Kaboom, the chair would need to look more along the lines of this: Just add a fire button!!! How bout this for Decathlon:
  12. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 250762884816 Not only does this come with Pac-Man, ET (the rarest game ever) and a nifty organizer case, but here is the best part... This Atari 2600 is VENTAGE!!!! I hope they meant VINTAGE, otherwise...it could be even more interesting: ventage [ˈvɛntɪdʒ] n1. a small opening; vent2. (Music, other) a finger hole in a musical instrument such as a recorder PS: No power supply or controllers included...Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........ No worries though...the seller's name is best_deal2002, so it must be a bargain!!! TRUST THE EBAY
  13. BTW...I live in NJ and I was referred to an arcade repairman who is very reasonable and also works on vector monitors. He fixed mine (along with taking care of all sorts of other tweaks and preventative maintenance) and it cost me less than $100. He even gave my OutRun Machine a once over while he was at my house. PM me if anyone needs his contact info.
  14. I got my Tempest machine off of eBay for $300 delivered (local delivery). With $100 worth of tweaking and parts, she is running perfect. It is one of those arcade machines that shows all the years of living in a real arcade. It came with nice artwork, with some visible wear from the days where people lined up to play her (complete with a few cigarette burns and initials carved in the side art). I love it!!! It adds character and brings me right back to those days in a smoke filled, dimly lit arcade. I really enjoyed this game the most back in the day, but I learned to love it once I became the owner of my own cabinet. I never get bored of it. This is bar none my favorite game ever!!! I would recommend making this one of those "must haves" if you have the room for it. You will never regret it!!!
  15. If you turn the logo sideways, it shows one albino Pitfall alligator cannibalizing another albino Pitfall alligator. That's it...I'm sure of it!
  16. You got a fair deal. Most important, you got something you will enjoy. Some folks make a nice side business out of buying and selling classic games but, truthfully, this is no way to get rich. If you enjoy the games and the history, you will love collecting. As you spend more time researching your purchases, you will be able to spot a good deal from a mile away. The price you paid is right on par with a fair eBay/craigslist purchase. With the right amount of knowledge and experience, you would have been able to find a better deal, but not by much. Most of the real "steals" are grabbed up quickly by those who are looking all the time and know what they are looking for. You might have done a little bit better but, you certainly could have done A LOT worse!!! Just enjoy the games and the future collecting!
  17. I have a Tempest as well...I was bummed Always wanted a Star Castle too! And those are difficult to find in that condition!!!
  18. I can imagine such a seller responding with the question: "Are these things dishwasher safe???"
  19. http://newjersey.craigslist.org/ele/2282251904.html What nice cabinets here...sent to the land of MAME. I have nothing against a MAME cabinet, but Tempest and Star Castle just shouldn't get messed with in my opinion...just my opinion tho
  20. I hate to say it, but it is pretty obvious that it won't be long (probably with the next gen consoles) before we get NO tangible product at all. Everything is quickly marching towards the world of DLC. A world where we truly own NOTHING!!! You download the content and it will be playable until the publisher just shuts down the servers supporting it. I am really disgusted with this trend in gaming. Old school games were full of impressive box/instruction/cart artwork. Some of the cartridges were works of art themselves with cool shapes and colors making them unique. Now, all we get is a plastic DVD case with a DVD and a slip sheet in it. Soon, even this will go the way of the Dodo. So sad... Maybe a developer will recognize the entirety of the gaming culture and do something about this, but I think this has already jumped the shark. It's all about profits, and DLC is certainly a way to get lots more profit and get it fast. Bummer. {SIDE NOTE - I loved it as a kid when I got a new Atari game and it came with a cool box, cool cart, cool manual and usually a catalog of upcoming titles that I would drool over for hours...now that is what I call marketing your brand!} {SIDE SIDE NOTE - Also, let's not forget the Atari comics that were in with some of the games!!!}
