Bought 2 games from him. Good communication, fast shippings and the stuff was in pristine condition! GREAT!
Bought Waterworld and Marine Wars at a great price. Arrived almost immediately! I am very happy with the purchases and would definitely do business again! Thank you so much!

I wont go through all the posts, but has this been mentioned?

Dammm I just went thru the whole thread thinking I was gonna throw down with the winner and the Koala beat me to the punch!!! This game is by far the worst $.99 I ever spent on anything!!!! It is almost unplayable. There just aren't words to describe the suck factor of this game!
PS: I'd challenge you to some online multiplayer, but that is broken for this game as well!!!

8 out of 15...but 4 of those were lucky guesses. Tough quiz. A lot of games I never even heard of!

Best Electronics used old Atari prototype boards to make repros in the 90's, the one high voltage posted, is actually a production board in a prototype shell.
So mine is a repro...Gotcha So how can I tell if it is a production (complete) game or just an unfinished proto version?
-
I got a Best proto with a blue oval sticker:

What got my curiosity going was the T-shaped board...I always thought these were Atari specific, but like I said before, I don't have much info on the subject. Thanks for the pic!

That sounds good to me! Who sets up the games, or can anyone start a HSC thread?
-
I am still very interested!!!
Does my purchase come with an honorary membership to the AtariAge Wine Snob Club???
-
I am still very interested!!!

Nope. That warning sticker and the fact that it's a Pole Position 2 cart means it's a Best Electronics "proto" reproduction.
Thanks! I'm glad I got it for cheap!!!

Seeing as this is a new game to all of us, is anyone up for a high score thread? I find this game to be challenging and would like to see what everyone else is up to on this! Any takers?
I'd probably participate.
Unfortunately, there is an infinite scoring situation with the game. See my post #203.
Yeah, but the HSC has used games with that problem before, basically you have to set a rule that you can't cheat and hope the honor system works.
I'm not sure how feasible it would be, but we could record the actual games and then post em to YouTube. Then we could embed the vids here for HSC review. It might be fun that way, albeit a tad complicated!

I just bought this off of ePay recently, and I was wondering if this was a real prototype from atari:
It does look like the T-shaped boards I have seen in other such proto photos, but I don't have much knowledge on the subject. Any help would be appreciated.
(either way, I just wanted the game to try it out and have it in my collection
)Thanks!

His interviews on the red carpet at the VGA's are amazing!!!

I still had the atari 2600 when everyone else moved on to the 5200...then 7800...then NES...
also got a PS 1 just before the PS 2 dropped...whoops!

Here's the scoreboard from Aurcade.com as of 7:22 PM EDT
Will they all still be competing tomorrow???? That is an hour away from me. I would love to see those guys play live and in person.

Should I send him a photo of the 40+ copies I have lying around???? Maybe he will buy them off of me for a hefty sum $$$$

I appreciate all the offers, but if I'm forced to part the lot out it's going on eBay. I may end up paying more in fees, but it's easier for me to keep track of every transaction that way, and also it's easier to keep potential deadbeat buyers away.
So far the offers I've seen for the entire lot have been too low. I paid a hell of a lot for all this stuff back when I was collecting. I realize that I probably won't get what I paid for everything, but there are "reasonable" offers and "insulting" offers and I've honestly gotten more of the latter.

Please post a link to your eBay store. Thanks!

Is it possible that the buyer can finally dump them?
I already dumped Power Lords.

But PP is kind of a shit on my deal, oh well, maybe I can get it cheaper now and dump it before this one is sold.

Maybe someone on AA will win the auction and do the right thing...either way, i'll still buy your repro cart for the Pink Panther if you make it available and i'm certain others will as well. Your release of Power Lords gets an A+ in my book.

Yeah, you guys are all in the ball park. $250-$500 depending on condition I'd say today. Monitors can be a pain to work on and replace though, but CPU boards can be found between $125-$225 usually, depending on how many sluts it has.
they come with how many whats? Lol
freudian slip???

I do not know much about NeoGeo cabinets. I have an oppurtunity to buy this set-up and would like to know what a fair price to offer would be. Any help would be appreciated.
He says that his Dad won this cabinet some years ago. It comes with 5 carts, all commons. Works with average/moderate wear, and has a "ringing" to it coming from monitor/speaker?
I do not know if there is screen burn.....I havn't asked that yet.
Any advice?
Arcade cabs are a funny thing when it comes to "value" . They are subject to what one is willing to pay for it VS. what someone is willing to let it go for. I have seen these as high as $1000 and as low as $100. Also, I have seen huge fluctuations in price depending on the region it is selling in.
My suggestion is to carefully feel out the seller and try to see if you can get an idea of what kind of price they are expecting. If this meets your wallet's expectations, throw out an initial offer slightly lower than what you want to pay. This will allow you a few bucks in wiggle room if the seller is looking to haggle.
I, personally, wouldn't pay over $300 for this (especially as it sounds like you will need to put work into it). That buzzing/ringing noise could be as simple as a damaged speaker, but it could also be an issue with one of the internal board components.
I wish you luck and suggest you do some additional homework before purchasing. I have two cabinets myself (not NeoGeo) and I have learned the hard way that they are all very different and tend to be a drain on your wallet when you buy a "fixer upper". If you have experience fixing electronics, this should be no problem. I don't have such skills, so it can get pricey when something goes wrong. Keep that in mind when negotiating price. You can work this to your advantage, as there will be some expense to get this machine back into perfect working condition.
Good luck!
