For those who are a little grumpy on the subject: I decided to give it a try, and I have to stress out how great it actually is. And the sound is 100% VCS. It would actually be great too to actually have a homebrew release like this one day on Atari hardware, and can prove to be quite inspirational. In the meantime, don't be scared to put down your atari joystick for a couple of minutes and give this game a go, even if it requires a hi-tech mobile device. I think it will make more than one smile...

Ok thanks. But just for my general knowledge: Goliath / Hotshot never released the game under their label, or did they? I only found Space Robot under other brands.

Amazingly, the german ebay does not accept the word Hotshot, thus not allowing me to edit auction. Had to stop it all together.

Will the further auctions be protos? And if so, how many and what titles? Just let go of a PAL Gremlins proto, and I have no others. Listed some boxed games. Keeping the loose ones. I know most people would do it the other way round.

Simply put: I don't. But I got it from a retired ex-Quelle employee, who told me it was a proto, and that they sometimes had access to them, and as he had no reason to be bullshitting me, I went with it. Then again, it might not be one. Bidders will judge that for themselves. The gameplay is identical to the commercial release. So are the graphics.

The answer is: of course. Hacks were just as subject to bugs or graphical glitches as their original counterparts, and subject to testing before distribution, and the fact alone that it exists makes it official in its own right. No need to explain by its limited release how rare it is. The game itself is in excellent working order. Other games too in further auctions.

Is it PAL or... is it something I want to bid on? Hi, It is PAL. If like me you like to actually play the games you collect, and if like me you have little patience and don't like blowing 10 times on the contacts to get the thing working, then you should avoid this at all costs. :-) If you are one of those who likes to have rare titles on display, even PAL ones, until you find a better one, then you might want to think about it.

Hi, I recently bought a great looking boxed version of Missile Control by Video Gems, "as is". The box and manual already look great, but the cart practically looks untouched. To my great disappointment it does not work. I tried cleaning the already clean contacts, and felt a bit silly doing so as they already look new. No difference. I tested on several different consoles, so that's not the problem either. I read here that the Video Gems carts are particularly fragile, but to that point? Any other ideas? Thanks
