ODtari! "Odyssey2 games made Atari 2600 Style"!
timdu replied to Neuronic's topic in Homebrew Discussion
Neuronic and I have worked out an agreement and I am happy to report I will be publishing and releasing UFO for the ATARI 2600 on cartridge. UFO! was one of my favorite Odyssey2 games. More details on the web site page: http://www.2600connection.com/features/ufo/features_ufo.html Stay tuned for more information! Tim -
Count me in! I want to be in the brotherhood a.) How you got your system? Back in 1981. It was my first system purchased. Something about this system caught my eye. I had 2 friends that both had Atari 2600 systems. I played those systems while visiting. I guess I wanted to go with something different. KC MUNCHKIN was the game that took me over the edge. It was so much better than the ATARI 2600 version of Pac-Man. b.) Your favorite memory of the system or games? Great memories of playing my 3 favorite games: KC MUNCHKIN , UFO, PICK AXE PETE c.) The weirdest thing you have typed into "Type and Tell" to make The Voice say? Oh you know, the usual that teenage boys would type in back in the day... all the swears and the bad words... " WHO FARTED? " I remember typing that and laughing like crazy thanks! Tim

It does: "What could cause someone to "snap" after hundreds of years of generosity? Was it the blatant commercialization of Christmas, with cheap decorations displayed in stores well before Halloween? The threatened unionization of the elves? Or perhaps international regulators who banned reindeer propulsion because the flatulence of nine reindeer was damaging the ozone layer? Or was it just one naughty child too many? Whatever the reason, Santa Claus has gone over to the dark side, and this Christmas won’t be the usual season of good will toward men. “Maybe the children of the world would learn to appreciate the important things in life if they didn't spend Christmas focused on shiny new toys,” Santa stated earlier this year. “Maybe this year, Santa will take away presents instead of delivering them...” Instead of leaving lumps of coals in the stockings of the naughty children, Santa has decided to teach them a lesson – and no bad weather or guard dogs are going to get in his way. And he’s asked for your help in executing his diabolical plan." I must admit that the game was inspired by "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," one of my favorite holiday cartoon specials. -Tim

The Videogame Criric has reviewed MEAN SANTA: http://videogamecritic.com/oddmr.htm?e=76124#rev4753 Also he has reviewed the Atari 2600 version too: http://videogamecritic.com/2600mm.htm?e=76124#rev3991 I know a lot of people do not like his review style... but I do. Interesting ...he gave both versions the same grade: C- Tim D.

Gathering Idea - #IntellivisionWeekend
timdu replied to First Spear's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I've always wanted to plan / have a gathering at FUNSPOT, the largest arcade in the world. It is Laconia, NH. I have never been there. I hear it is great. They also are the home of the American Classic Arcade Museum.... http://www.funspotnh.com/ http://www.classicarcademuseum.org/ I'm not suggesting a convention, but rather I was thinking more along the lines where it be cool to pick a day and set up a room there maybe to have an "INTELLIVISION DAY" event there... a number of us could gather with a whole bunch of Intellivision systems and promote the Intellivision systems and its games... offer free play, answer questions, maybe sell some consoles and games to new Intellivision fans... sort of like an organized swap meet maybe? Just an idea... -
Congratulations, Kevin! A great personal accomplishment. Now let's release it on cartridge!

PUZZLE PIECE PANIC is one of the best homebrews in my opinion. This one is awesome. It is Ted Szczypiorski's creation. It is a Tetris clone. But is a lot of fun. More info @ http://www.packratvg.com/ppp.html A great deal for $29! Tim

At 1 hour and 15 minutes in to the podcast, Adam reads my feedback that I submitted on THE INCREDIBLE WIZARD. Thank you, Adam, for including it in its entirety! I know it is long! I felt the game deserved that much attention! I have had some time off before the Thanksgiving holiday, so I made an article of it in PDF format and add some graphics etc. It is on my web site : http://www.2600connection.com/ and Adam is going to host it on his site ballyalley.com at some point in the near future. ENJOY! Tim

I have written an article on Insights and feedback on THE INCREDIBLE WIZARD, the Bally Astrocade version of WIZARD OF WOR. It includes a comparison of the coin-operated machine of WZARD OF WOR and the INCREDIBLE WIZARD home version and a "how to" for playing both games under emulation. Although I am a fan of the Atari 2600 version of WIZARD OF WOR (by CBS Games) I am really glad that I checked out this version on the Astrocade! You will not be dissapointed! Enjoy reading this PDF file. inc_wizard.pdf To my fellow friends in the USA, Happy Thanksgiving! Tim D. http://www.2600connection.com/

The Atari Flashback software for the Raspberry Pi 3 with modified RetroPie software can be downloaded from the following dropbox site: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5veuzm5pwc0wx0j/UAFB.img.zip?dl=0

I called my hosting provider ( godaddy ) and they informed me that the hosting service that I have is not intended for such large files ( over 1 gigabyte) . They recommended that I move the file to a different server, or to a different type of service such as dropbox. So I am doing that now and I will post the new link to the files once I have transferred them to the new location. I will then post the new file download information here.
