  1. No worries man. I know what he meant and anyway you slice it, it was in fact meant to be an insult (the giving me a gold metal statement), hence the "Grow up" statement made by me. And the reason I made said statement is because I too don't care for drama. But at the same time I will stick up for myself when someone has a go. Honestly it's just a jab for jab. I even used a smiley face like this ..also the reason for the PM was to keep this thread from derailing even further away from the topic, sadly you chose to come in here and further the "drama" heh.
  2. As someone else stated. Metroid for the NES freaked me out. Between the music and general design of the game, playing that shit at night was a trip hah.
  3. Now THIS did sound like a personal attack ...and all I have to say to this is, grow up dude. I feel like you'd fit in better over at Digital Press. This isn't really the place for drama. Chris So is the digitalpress site really that bad? I have only been to the store (which is awesome)
  4. What is with all the assumptions? I didn't take "personal offense" to his statement at all. In fact, had I never made a comment before his, I would have posted the same exact thing. I was calling him out on generally making some harsh statements in "here" about people who were trying to help. ..and yeah I am sure people like that exist somewhere on the internet in some shape or form also. But to make blanket statements and assume that those people are here, was super lame and I called him on it. What he said would be no different than me saying "people in here are pedophiles!". Just because they exist somewhere, doesn't give me the right to label people here of the same act. (yes this example was dramatic for effect ) Now THIS did sound like a personal attack ...and all I have to say to this is, grow up dude.
  5. lol really? that is pretty funny you think people in here that are trying to help are actually lying for their own evil purposes. The truth of the matter is most of us don't collect for value, we collect cause we love gaming. And if you want the best experience possible out of a NES many feel the front loader is the way to go. It has one of the cleanest composite out signals of any console. Many people HAVE said if you want one ONLY for collecting purposes go with the top loader...So that kind of contradicts your paranoid assumptions. Myself? I have no interest in a top loader because I would never collect anything JUST because it has some worth. If I wanted to do that shit, I would collect stamps or something . If I ever do run across a top loader I will give it away to friends like I have done in the past with some other "rare" items I have come across. Your assumptions about people on here are quite sickening if I may be honest.
  6. meh I think if you are gonna use a top loader you might as well just go with something like a clone system. As much as I would rather play on an original, I would choose a clone over a top loader any day. The picture just flat out sucks coming out of that thing. But yeah, as others have said, get a front loader and either clean the 72 pin or replace it and you will have years and years of perfect gaming from the unit. It's a no brainer to me.
  7. hehe am I the only one that loved 5? I agree it has some rough spots, but there is so much to it and it plays fantastic with a good wheel. As much as I love 4, not sure I could ever go back at this point.
  8. wow those look amazing. Thank you so much for sharing. I am getting these tomorrow!
  9. hmmm this is a hard one for me. Growing up in the 70's I used a lot of the earlier joystick style sticks, so when the NES pad came out I would say that was the biggest jump in comfort for me. Which is funny because now that might seem pretty insane with all its pointy edges hah. But I do remember being shocked at how nice that bad boy was when it came out.
  10. I saw a prototype arcade game at my local recycle center called "tank wars". I have no idea if it was worth anything money wise, but I am sure someone from KLOV or something would have been interested. Since they had the same policy at my recycle center, I didn't even bother trying to get a truck to save it. Sad thing is the monitor was really nice and probably had very few hours on it. Really bummed me out
  11. yeah not sure I would want to risk it myself. But if you do decide to try stuff, you could take it apart and try it on the inside of the plastic first. Then see if the results are worth taking to the outside. Or you can just do what I do and say the scratches add character
  12. ahh nice. Picture must look amazing on that thing.
  13. The mic is mostly for casting on JTV, but I have used it for voice over work and such. Also cool setup. what type of tv/mon are you using with the NES?
  14. I loved (and still love) that game so much. It was a nice balance of the 2 gaming types. I was kinda sad that they changed it on the second game though
  15. Here is my current setup. Lil messy atm My goal with the room was to fit and hook up all my machines to cast live all at once. It was a bit of challenge to fit everything in the small room, but I think I did an ok job. Key was getting the right size entertainment centers and using tons of shelves. 16. Just wondering, do you like sim style racers in general? cause if not, I don't think any Gran Turismo game will be fun for you. If you DO like sim games and are just getting around to GT2 now, it might feel dated in it's feel. Something to try would simply put some more time into it. GT games in general take a while to get going cause you need to grind a bit before you can get the cars you want and get used to upgrading said cars. Other than that, I would say a newer version on ps2 might be a bit more easy to get into?
  17. Um, most likely because they are like me and had no idea the holy water was useful against him. I didn't know until one of these recent CV threads. Same here, though I have to say that using the boomerang is pretty damn easy as well. Hardest part with Dracula is the first phase anyway. (assuming you have x3 )
  18. I just recently beat the game. It was one of those games that I could never beat when I was younger. I remember me and a friend made it to Dracula and just left his NES on for days trying to beat him. (with no luck). We even tried using the NES advantage slow-mo feature hah. So when I started casting games on JTV I figured it would be fun to try and finally beat the game live. Took a while, but I was able to do it. Was one of the best moments of my gaming life Video below of my victory hah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3x118mewTw
  19. I think an updated version of Donkey Kong Arcade could be very interesting. make it play the same, but have updated visuals, leader boards and downloadable replays. Perhaps even have a DX mode that would add new stages. Of course it would HAVE to have the ability to play in the OG style as well (but still have leader boards etc).
  20. Hey guys/gals, just put together some footage from the Too Many Games convention if anyone is interested. Watch in 1080p if possible. Was a great time and I am already looking forward to going again next year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-zF4301P28
  21. You know I looked for a thread here for a TMG thread, I didnt even think to look in the events section . I will post this there. Mods feel free to kill this

  23. That is pretty cool. I am looking to hook up my DC to the dialup modem on my PC. I found a guide on how to do it, however it is for windows 98 only. I am gonna give it shot using an old laptop I have. This method does involve more work (have to use an app for NAT on the 98 machine etc), but once setup, you should get the best possible speed out of your dial up modem possible and you dont have to worry about finding a dial up ISP. So if anyone else is interested in going on the same adventure, the guide is here. DC to PC connection
  24. hey I live in nothern NJ and could definitely use a repair guy
