  1. So I’ll be playing a game on my Atari 2600 4 switch woody and suddenly the clear image goes all wavy. The image and sound are nice and stable then just randomly this happens until I turn off the console and turn it back on, then it’s fine again for awhile.

Does anyone know what might be causing this to occur?

  2. Love the widebody. I have a DK with DK2 and switcher for DKJr. DK was my favorite back in the day, but grew to live the original MarioBros. My best friend and I frequented a game room with 2 for 25 cents games. We played Mario all the time. We later played the 5200 version for nights on end. Great game. Underrated. Especially great with co-op, friend out against. I have limited space for more arcades, so I'm waiting for the right Mario to come around my area.

Ever played Mario Clash on Virtual Boy? It's a 3D version of Mario Bros with the ability to walk between two planes. It's really fun especially if you like original Mario Bros.

  4. The error is flood control; I have successfully got my 2 games, free theme and 30 days of PS+... just be patient.

Edit- I do believe everyone will get their turn eventually, it's just a waiting game.

  5. So the local used everything store sells Atari everything (well at least 2600 games) for 50 cents each. This apparently includes games that are IN THE BOX. I scored the following:

    Boxed:

    Miniature Golf (CiB)

    Haunted House (CiB)

    Ice Hockey (CiB)

    Pitfall! (CiB)

    Video Chess (missing manual)

    Loose:

    Tennis

    Maze Craze

    Atlantis

    Hangman

    Fire Fighter

    Breakout

    Circus Atari

    Venture

    Total price = $6.50

Most of these were in good to very good condition (boxes were obviously frayed) leading me to suspect they all came to the store from the same source. If the place was only selling them for 50 cents each, I can only imagine the previous owner totally got screwed in trade-in credits. Still, one man's garbage...

    If that's not a thrift find I don't know what is :D

Separately I acquired Demon Attack and Battlezone, so all in all I got a very nice boost to my 2600 collection today.

I only know of one shop in my area that sales 2600 games, it doesn't matter what game. $4.99 each, Nothing I do not already have though.

  6. I can't use the NES gamepad for more than about 30 minutes without my thumb growning 100 calluses (it hurts). Is the Sega gamepad any better?

But really . . . whats the point of playing these games on Original Hardware or the Flashback if you aren't going to use the joystick? Just play them on your PC with a $10 gamepad for free.

I hate emulation personally and was not from the 2600 generation so using gamepads instead of the joystick seems quite fine to me.

  7. Today via Craigslist!
