  1. I was surprised this morning to have this pop up in my e-mail. It's from a woman who's involved in the making of a Kickstarter game that I backed (and has a hard road to reach it's goal, I admit).

Figured this would get some debate going. ;)

For the record, I agree with about 95 percent of what she said. And it really hit home also cause I just recently played and finished Dragon Age: Origin for the first and am currently playing DA 2.

I actually shelved dragon age for about a year before i realized wth i was doing wrong. Once i realized to tank out my character and use wynn instead during the boss battles i murdered through the game. Did the first dragon you fought completely rape you also?

  2. I've pondered the same question and I don't have an easy answer. The Jag is a system I want to like and if I stumbled across one at the right price and time I would be hard pressed to pull the trigger. I passed on a CIB Jag on CL with a few games about 6 months ago -- seller was asking $100, which seemed reasonable. I think for myself collecting the Jag is out of the question -- prices get crazy fast. But again right price, right time and work towards getting 10-12 solid games I would actually play and enjoy, why not. Same thing for the Lynx as well -- though I would probably get a Jag before a Lynx.

The lynx is a hell of alot cheaper to collect for

  3. The dump wasnt the source for the stories, there was suppose to be a a separate landfill they were put in. At least years ago when i lived there the dump wasnt where they were suppose to be. If you ever saw the town, the only place that appears to be on a fill is walmart. My bet is nothing will be pulled from the dump. Sounds like false intel to get anyone remotely interested in alamo.

  4. In the 80s Atari meant 2600. If someone had something else thay said so, or just said Atari and you found out later. If we really want to get pedantic we can call it the Atari VCS and go back to the second name. That however is way off topic with regard to the SMS. We are dangerously close to grammer Nazi territory here.

I wasn't even discussing the computer line. Atari Inc. made 12 consoles (11 if we drop the 7800). I've been seeing this trend lately with people in media and other just referring to "the Atari" when that of course was never ever the name of a console. It's the name of the company. I'm also not sure I agree with Bill with "Nintendo" meaning NES. You're talking about a company that's been around for a long time and released many different platforms as well; it depends entirely on what generation a person is from. If I say "the Nintendo" to someone who grew up in the mid to late 90s they're more likely to think of the Nintendo 64 for instance. Same example for simply saying "the Sega."

This isnt a new trend. If you were a kid inthe mid 80s, "Atari" was the 2600, "Nintendo" was the NES, and "Sega " was the master system. You didnt say to your freinds " hey, come over and play atari video computer system with me" You said lets play some atari. That shit just carried on with alot of people as adults. Thanks for the atari console trivia though

  6. Initial impressions; Im sort of shocked by the quality of the system. No doubt ahead of its time. Dpad works well, device seems to be built to survive a missile strike. The games ive played so far definitely have a uniqueness to them. They look very well compared to the emulated versions ive seen. Having alot of fun with gauntlet, nerd class??

  7. Why would they want you not to? I really doubt that suddenly being able to play Mario Kart 7 on a HDTV would put any sort of a dent on Mario Kart 8's sales. Yet a 3DS Player attachment for the Wii U would please many players, sell more handheld software, and probably would sell a fair number of Wii U's in the process and get those people also buying Wii U software as a consequence.

    .

You apply actual logic instead of nintendo logic

  8. I agree that Nintendo seems to be the only company able to make a serious dent, but to be fair Sony is doing something here that Nintendo should have done first. The Wii u is more than capable of running 3ds games, and since Nintendo doesn't see 3d as terribly crucial to the games' success, it's not like it would hurt to play them in 2d at home.

In fact Nintendo could honestly one up Sony in this case if they allowed the system to play downloadable games on the Wii u without any "3ds" attachment. Or heck, a 20 dollar 3ds cart reader that plugs in via USB.

Look to the future, after the heavy hitters come out. Why would they want you to play mario kart 7 now when mk u is on the way. I could see a device released in the future though.

  9. Unfortunately my Wii can't tune to my TV (hurray offbrand from 2006!) so I can't even use that functionality but I wasn't overly impressed with it either. I've never really been a fan of the game console trying to be an all-in-one entertainment hub though. I guess that kind of thing is good if space is at a premium (dorm room) but if I'm going to have an all-in-one device, I'd rather use a media PC.

I just think a verizon app so I can watch adventure time while my kids are watching some disney jr crap would be nice

  10. That's online video streaming and I'm sure Nintendo would love it if a provider like Verizon wanted to create a streaming app for the Wii U. And any complaints about existing apps not streaming to the gamepad screen (If that's even the case for any of this stuff since I know several of them do support streaming the content to the gamepad screen) I'm sure is due to the provider and the owners of the content available on the service and not Nintendo.TVii though which is the subject of the reply you were responding to is only information. It's a video supplement and not the video. So obviously with cable tv which is the main thing it's compatible with (Wikipedia says it can also interact with the Hulu & Amazon apps), there's obviously nothing Nintendo can do to get that output to the gamepad's screen. It's simply not even being routed through the Wii U.

Thanks you captain. Thats my point...its utterly worthless. "Wow, I can turn off the tv and view a channel guide from the tablet". Console seller right there.
