  1. The Simpsons predicted the score for today's game will be Bronco 19, Sea hawks 14 back in 2005. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/the-simpsons-predicted-this-year-s-super-bowl-way-back-in-2005-142931230.html

Did they actually say in the episode that it was Super Bowl 48?

  2. Kareem looks so old. Why doesn't he turn completely around? It's like he is horribly scared on one side of his face and they wanted to hide it.
  3. Well there is one on ebay right now for $4.99. I wouldn't call it mint since the box isn't perfect. That is the hard thing finding a box that looks mint.
  4. Good Will near mean had a NES w/ SMB/DH cart. No controllers/av/power. Why do they try to sell that stuff separately?
  5. I think both the NES and SMS were better systems during the day then Atari 7800 ever could dream. The NES was not made up of games I had played for years on my 2600/400. Most everything was original, bigger, better graphics and better music than the 7800 could every do. The 7800 library was small and seemed to be only sold at Federated Group discount stores. Twenty years later, I got a 7800 from a thrift store. The NES is still a lot more fun. Now my 7800 is only used a 2600 clone with Harmony plugged in. It's not worth changing the cartridge unless it is to play Beef Drop 7800..
  6. I like it!. The most obvious thing you need is a Harmony cartridge. If the Atari is going to be shown, swap out the 4 switch woody for a Vader model. It will look better in that table top. Otherwise, I would build the guts of the Atari inside the cabinet and put the switches under the monitor. Then use some arcade joystick, button and spinner for the controls built into the cabinet.
  7. That looks like it would be great game. It reminds me of The Simpsons or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade games. Why is battle cat just wondering around and not fighting?
  8. It's probably hot. Ebay seller: "Yeah, it fell of the truck. Yeah. That's it!"
  9. Our year old 3DS systems are still going strong considering they are used by some very destructive seven and nine year olds. If they had a PS Vita or PSP, it would be trashed.
  10. I'm currently playing it too and enjoying every minute of it. The trick to the game is to save before entering a dungeon and just before meeting a boss. I like the top down approach over the 3D open world versions. It takes me back to playing the original on the NES and SNES. I'm also in the mountains. Pretty early in the game.
  11. Well if we are going to list out every system we ever bought: 2600 -> 400 - > Colecovision -> 130XE -> 1040STFM->NES->1040STE->TG-16->Genesis->SNES->SMS->Sega CD->32x->Lynx->Lynx2->Jaguar->Playstation->Playstation2->Dreamcast->7800->Wii->SegCDX->Xbox360->Gamecube->N64->3DO
  12. As far as consoles are concerned, I went from my Atari VCS (heavy sixer) to Colecovision. However there was an Atari 400 between the two.
  13. Nice! It reminds me of those old 8bit demos I'd find on BBSs back in the '80s.
  14. Steambox is the new 3DO.

  15. Currently playing Zelda: A Link between Worlds. Enjoying it.
  16. Is it possible to use the Skylanders Giants 3DS portal on the Wii? Will that portal work on the 360?
  17. Looking forward to Santa's visit tonight.

  18. I enjoyed the video. I remember playing a lot of those as a kid in the mall.
  19. It's amazing how the games that were in those bargain bins for .99cents are now worth hundreds of dollars to collectors looking for something unique.
  20. Khan does his best Chewbacca yell for Han Solo.

  21. Back when I was a kid, I learned to program on a 400 and then upgraded to 130xe when the 400 died. I didn't buy a XEGS or 5200 until this year simply because I already had those games on my 400/XE. The XEGS was fun to type in programs again like I did as a kid. I even printed out a game from ANALOG and typed it back in. What a pain in the ass that was! I couldn't believe how small the keyboard was. Did I actually learn to type with this thing? I also felt it was too complicated to have a online set of games setup on it. I could have gotten an SIO2SD but still I would have to deal with DOS and type on the keyboard to start a game. I bought the 5200 and a ultra SD cartridge to make it easier to play the game library. It's much more fun to turn on the machine and select a game from the menu and play for five minutes.
  22. Got my Everdrive 64. Now I need a bigger SD card.

    1. OBO

      OBO

Basically, what I did was I kept PAL games (I am in PAL-land), removed US and JP duplicates, only keeping US and JP exclusives.

  23. Too bad the XEGS idea didn't exist when Atari released the 5200. Imagine a 5200 with detectable keyboard, SIO port and regular Atari joysticks. Basically an Atari 400 in a console box.
