  1. He charged $120 to mod both systems at the same time. (return shipping included) He suggested in order to cut down on shipping cost, to just send the 5200 motherboard and expansion panel for mounting. It's funny the return box was originally shipped to Joe from Al. Small world.
  2. Just got my 7800 back from LittleJoe over at http://www.electroni...onServices.html and the 7800's picture is amazing! This sucker even has stereo output. I played a game of Pac-Man 4K and I could hear the alarm in one speaker and the waka-waka in the other. LittleJoe did a fantastic and quick job modifying the system.
  3. Big thanks to LittleJoe at ElectronicSentimentalities.com for modding my 5200 and 7800 for s-video. They both return amazing pictures and sound. Super high quality work and done very quickly. Give this man your business!!!
  4. Thanks to LittleJoe and http://electronicsentimentalities.com my 5200 and 7800 now have s-video. He modified both of my units in a week and sent them back in better than new condition. The 7800 even has stereo. It was pretty cool playing Pac-man 4K and hearing the alarm in one speaker and the waka waka in the other. Both units video is crystal clear! So much better than the old RF. My 5200 also has a new case thanks to David (Boxpressed). Both units look fantastic now. My next project is to preform an AV mod on my Odyssey 2 and Colecovision.

It's amazing hearing the stereo out of my 7800. I didn't know it could do that!

I'd be too nervous about sending one my consoles away to be operated on like that.

@Brian some common sense with shipping and sending only to trusted and proven modder will usually prevent any issues.

  6. I've been thinking there is a lot of room inside the Colecovision for an internal power supply. Has anyone found a appropriate laptop brick that could replace the giant one Coleco gave us?
  7. That's pretty cool! It reminds me of Zylon Mercenary on the Lynx.
  8. Wow! I love Floyd the Droid. I haven't played that in ages. Thanks for converting it to the 5200. It was Analog Computing that got me in to programming and the great games that were published there. I think I typed in every single program that magazine published into my 400.
  9. I remember playing Creepshow pinball on my 400. It was a fun game. I can't remember if it was originally a game created with Pinball Construction Set or sold separately.
  10. David was kind enough to send me a non working 2-port 5200 in great shape. I'm going to use the case to replace my current battle scared case. Thank you David!
  11. Size matters in a Playaround game.
  12. Having Atari 5200 withdrawals...

Whenever I get those feelings, I just go look at mine. ;)

  13. When I was a kid, I had a 400. There was no need to buy the 5200 since it just played the same games and I could do so much more with the 400. Last year, I bought a XEGS so I could play those games again. It was ok but the keyboard was way too short for playing a Star Raiders. I also felt like I needed extra hardware to play some of the other games out there on disk. It wasn't worth getting that hardware. The 5200 was the only Atari console I didn't own. It just felt easier to have those games on cartridge instead of disk or on an expensive sd card reader. Less complicated. The 5200 was great! It even came with a wico keypad that I later added the joystick to. Now, I'm getting the machine modified for svideo and fixing some cracks in the case. I'm hoping it will make a nice restoration when I'm done. I'll have to try the trick with the aluminum foil since I have rows of buttons that don't work on my controllers. The 5200 is like a old muscle car that you restore and proudly show off and drive around.
  14. Much better marque. Now I think we need something more on the bezel around the screen. Maybe a lot more Yars (like Galaga) with the energy field or a star field on the bezel. I just don't like the large print Atari below the screen. It's too detracting and feels redundant since its already on the cab. It makes the screen feel small.
  15. Cool! I've been enjoying your videos. I've been waiting for a SNES hidden gems video.
  16. I've had one of these on my car for a long time. I've been asked a few times what it means.
  17. The lollipop-d toolbar actually comes up during their install. You can theoretically op-out but who knows what exactly it is installing besides the emulator. From other boards, it seems this in intentionally put in by the programmers.
  18. 95% of the stuff for the Wii is pure shovelware. You have to look really hard to find something new and original.
  19. In 1980, Atari was bringing in around two billion dollars in revenue and Chuck E. Cheese's some five hundred million. I still didn't feel too bad that I had turned down a one-third ownership of Apple - although I was beginning to think it might turn out to be a mistake. -Nolan Bushnell

  20. I agree. Get the Lynx. Atari has a proven track record with video games. They should have lots of games for it soon. I hear it can even hook up to Atari's upcoming Jaguar to act as a controller! Besides that Game Boy screen is so tiny and it doesn't even have color! Tetris is such a passing fad.
  21. That site comes back with other nasty things. I pretty much just turned off temporary read-time file system protection and web access protection in nod. Then I downloaded the file from the site. I then installed the emulator on one of my VMs and said no to the toolbar. I reinabled Nod32 again. It's pretty lame they did that.
