Arcade Experiences to be proud of...
Mxyzptlk replied to M.A.M.E Offender's topic in Arcade and Pinball
The 1st time I was able to marathon Asteroids. Not a big accomplishment these days, but I was only 12 or 13 and it was a great feeling. -
What are the green mini-trees?

I agree, I spend more time here than any other website. Albert is definitely doing us Atari guys a huge service and I appreciate it.

It is probably a bad potentiometer or a blown speaker in the Ms. Pacman, can't be anything else I can think of. As far as Spyhunter goes here is the link to the manual, it is 59 pages long so have fun. http://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals-videogames/S/SpyHunter.pdf

This along with a few remaining 2600 titles is my holy grail. I have been trying for the last 15+ years to get my hands on one that works. One came on E-Bay many years ago and of course I was outbid in the last second. I have a lead on one now, but the middleman I am working with is a little flaky.

Yes, here is a link to the board upgrade eBay Auction -- Item Number: 280957442246 most of the old popular arcade games have a board upgrade like this.

Cords might be tucked inside the cabinet. Whenever I transport a machine (if possible) I will tuck the cord inside the cabinet so it won't get destroyed. Pull the back panel off and see if the cords are there. If not, it is one of the easiest fixes there is on a arcade cab. As far as other stuff P.M. me or go to the KLOV forums and the members there can walk you through most problems. Buying cabs. is very addictive and fun. And working on them is also addicting and fun. I buy a cab. at least once every couple of months, restore it, play the heck out of it and then sell it. Last year I restored a Baby-Pacman and the owner of Ground Kontrol bought it. -

It was the nicest machine I have ever got. And I have had close to a hundred pins. and arcades come and go through my house in the last 20+ years. I already sold it so no PRGE this year. Thats usually what I do these days, I buy 'em, fix 'em, and sell 'em. The extra income is nice. I am restoring a Battlezone currentely. It should be done next week-end depending on how fast I get my parts. -

What Bagman are you talking about? I got the one that was in Kelso. And I have not seen any others up for sale on E-Bay or Craigslist or K-LOV. -

Mxyzptlk replied to SoulBlazer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yep, thats the way I read his business model also. I have no clue what kid_vidiot and stone age are talking about. Maybe they did not read the guys Kickstarter idea. -

Mxyzptlk replied to SoulBlazer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
This is the first Kickstarter project I have seen that gives you something (physical item) for donating. Thanks for the link Soulblazer, this is the kind of business that I like to try to get going. -
These would be more awesome if they had razor sharp barbed points on the end. Seriously though, your set is awesome!!! I used to play lawn darts around 30 years at my grandmas. AND... no one ever got hurt.

Arcade and pinball cabinets stored in warehouses... Wow!
Mxyzptlk replied to Pixelboy's topic in Arcade and Pinball
Wow, that is wayyyyy too much for that lot. Even if they all worked that price is way too much. Many of the pins. are only $300 in perfect working order. I know this because I have owned and sold several on that list. I would think $15,000 would be a more than fair price. -
What field are you getting your PhD. in?
-
Does anyone know how to search 'auctions only' on E-Bay? I can't find that option anymore and get stuck sifting through a million buy it nows and an auction listing occasionally peppering the lists.
-
To be honest, I have never seen that on any of my carts. before, and I have owned and still own hundreds of 'em. I would guess someone like CPUWIZ or Bennybingo or Ax have an idea on how to help this problem. Or you could tell the guy that you bought it from that it does not work and get a refund or an exchange. Good luck.
