Toot and Puddle design bible illustration. Client: National Geographic Medium: Adobe Illustrator This was one of a series of illustrations for Nat Geo's design bible. Used for licensing and such. It was fairly difficult to follow the Pantone guides for colour.....you have to make sure every line and fill is the proper Pantone colour. The % blush on the cheeks, noses and ears were a challenge to get right, each characters is a different colour. The % white shade on the top of the characters head was equally difficult to get exact. Otherwise it was a great job to work on!

The Magic School Bus house of horrors......nope it's inside the human body. MSB was a nice show to watch, but not so nice to draw. Each blood vessel and muscle group had to be posed moving. Plus the bus, kids, lizard....maybe a good 10 to 15 layers of posing animation.

  11. Don't blame Canada.....we like cheap games up here too! Sadly this is the way collecting is going. Overpriced VGA junk has flooded every market. The sports cards and comic collecting communities is our lesson here. There will be a crash in sales and prices at some point, which will be good for people who like to play games instead of encasing them in Lucite.
  12. Jim Talbot is accredited to many early Avalon Hill video game box art. I haven't seen any for sale or know of the values of such an item. He is not as well known as George Perez, so the value of his paintings would be tied into the product he was painting for. The best way to gauge this would be to take one piece that you have identified and market it as video game box art attributed to Jim Talbot. Your target audience is on here or Gamegavel or eBay. From there you can probably sell the other items (when identified) at about the same price. If you post pics I am sure someone here can identify most of the pieces you have. Samples of his work below: http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/by_genre/developerId,159217/ http://www.scribd.com/doc/19855396/Jupiter-Mission-1999 http://www.scribd.com/doc/34615035/Panzer-Jagd
  13. The Ngage is not too bad to tool around with. I had the first gen Taco and loaded it up with games on an MMC card. The hard part was finding an MMC card. I ended up finding one in a used camera shop in Toronto for about $30. I picked mine up for 7 bucks. The screen was cracked and the charge port damaged. I easily swapped a new shell and used an old Nokia flip phone to swap out the charge port. The screen is pretty small on the Taco. The best part was the jeers from fellow commuters staring at my "ancient" cel phone. Every once and awhile I would run into someone who remembered what it was and if they could buy it. I recently and regrettably upgraded to a smartphone.
  14. Working on a show for Amazon. I am not supposed to talk about it, but they have it plastered on their studio website.

  15. I would beg to differ as there are people who deal with Perez' artwork who would be more knowledgeable about his non-comic art work. It is not like the man to have a body of work out there not connected to his bread and butter. But then I don't know anything after dealing in comic, illustration and animation art for 20+ years;)
  16. Greetings, The illustration looks like ink, pencil, and illustration markers. Letraset, Prismacolours or (newer) Copic markers have a chiselled edge to them. Watercolour has a different look to it. Not that it makes a difference in that it looks to be an original. Now go get it appraised by a professional! http://www.anthonyscomicbookart.com/ArtistGalleryRoom.asp?ArtistId=448 http://www.comicartfans.com/comic-artists/George_Perez.asp http://www.romitaman.com/artistgalleryroom.asp?ArtistId=905&Ti=George++Perez
  17. Greetings, You may want to take a look at the Heritage auction site. They have a seachable archive of past auctions with prices realized. A comparative magazine cover unrelated to Perez' more famous works (Teen Titans, Avengers, Crisis) sold for around $4000. A fair price for his non-DC work of that era could reasonably priced between $2000 and $4000. First you need to find a reputable dealer to do an appraisal for you. Not the easiest route to go though. I have artwork attributed to Steranko and Gray Morrow that has taken years to find a dealer that is willing to take a look at the pieces.
  18. Not bad for a game I never play. At least I tripled my buying price.
  19. Greetings all, I posted my Sears Demons to Diamonds on eBay. It is in overall good condition. The cart itself has some Acti-plaque but otherwise clean. I am not sure how the shipping shows up for locations outside of Canada. eBay is screwy as usual and since this is my first listing in a year I am sure they have changed policies a few time since. Please feel free to message me with questions if you are interested in the cart. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 321292334540
  20. So many good finds....and stuff I passed over that I should have bought. I would have to say a box of carts my wife picked up that included a Supercharger and cassettes. Last summer I picked up a CIB zellers Dragon Treasure, 2 boxed Colecovisions and a pile of CIB games, a 3D0 for $6 and a Tooth Protectors cart. All of that stuff was traded or sold off to feed my MAME project, except the Zellers cart.
  21. I had figured it would be around $20 to 30 given there haven't been many CIB sales lately and the price guides seem way off on these. I have had it for a few years and still have yet to play it. The game just does not make the rotation and having a Harmony cart makes me less inclined to use the actual cart.
