  1. Why does everybody call these carts protos? Proto stands for prototype, and they aren't prototypes at a all. Just copies of commonly available romimages to an eprom-cart.
  2. It's not that rare, because you can still buy it new from Telegames. Really rare is the curved lip version (standard Lynx cart design) of this game, which is older.
  3. I wondered ! Because Battlezone was one of the last Lynx releases, and it should have been in curved lip format. The ridged cart format was only used in the earlier carts. Has someone put the PCBs and the plastic together to repair a broken cart? Or did Atari ran out of curved carts, but had some ridged back in stock ?? Enlighten us, Harry!
  4. Sorry chris, but you misunderstood me. The CES version HAS lifting shelters, BUT there are no tanks coming out of them, like in the arcade. This doesn't make any sense, since you can't destroy the shelters. The CES version also has tanks, but they are just standing on the ground. Maybe you could check your Telegames version. I'm really curious about whether the Telegames is further developed than the CES release. Thanx
  5. Here is a picture of the whole thing. Screenshots would be harder to take, but I could try with my cheap digicam It was Bastians & Lars first project, so I'm pretty sure this is the 1st homebrew Lynx title.
  6. I have to add another: Bastian Schick and Lars Baumstark made a driving school theory test cartridge for the Lynx. It was meant for driving schools as a form of interactive learning. Commercially it wasn't successful, so only about 40 of them were made. They were packaged in a suitcase with a Lynx II, Manual and a Power adaptor. I am happy to own 2 of them. The cart features digitized pictures in color, b/w and painted roadsigns.
  7. What makes me think that the CES version is incomplete, is the fact that in the 1st level there are tank shelters that rise from the ground with no tanks driving out of them. In the arcade version those shelters lift and tanks drove out. (What else sense could a tank shelter make in a shooter?) How about the Telegames version? Do tanks come out of their shelters? Thanx
  8. Was RAIDEN finished by Telegames? There is a ROM of it floating around on the net that says "CES Version Release 3" It seems unfinished. Is it the same with Telegame's Version? I want to buy it, but I am quite confused. I don't want to spend $40 for an unfinished game. Thanx!

    Lynx lifespan?

Do proto cartridges harm the Lynx? What do you mean with "square edges"? The edges when you look on top of the cart [=] or the edges on the front ??? -=-
