ATARI 2600 VCS INCREDIBLE HULK PARKER BROTHERS SEALED
DT Kofoed replied to airgames's topic in Atari 2600
... quing is not the ending of this thread? -
After Wall Jump Ninja, count me a fan to follow whatever you whip up.

Like some say, it's good to stay on the in with your local shops... One I used to frequent, sure, was a little over-priced, but the selection was decent, and the gratification instant. They knew me as the Atari guy. One day, the sales-guy tells me the owner just came across a rare cart, and hadn't even priced it yet, let alone put it out. Pulled it from under the counter to show me: Rescue Terra I. I called the next morning, picked it up for under $60. The only Rarity 9 cart I have!

Yup, lookin' forward to some new fun!

Nice addition with the "best" progress memory... can't wait to see what other fun you've got planned!

Funny things kids say about limited graphics on Atari games...
DT Kofoed replied to R.Cade's topic in Atari 2600
My son's friends (13-15) always want to play Atari when they come over. I force them to play Basketball and LAUGH LAUGH LAUGH as I force them to sit through an entire game!!! The square ball! The single team member! The bounce-off-the-floor into the "hoop" shots! The hip kids talk about "Nintendo Hard," and they don't know sh*t. Pop in some arcade conversions and give 'em a high-five if they last more than 10 seconds. Both my kids sometime play in the HSC with me, so they're cool... -
What is your proudest personal achievement...

For me, when I rolled the hardest setting of YAR'S REVENGE in the HSC competition. Well, that, and getting my first Rarity 9 cartridge under the counter from a local shop I regular-ed... -
Good on you, sir! This is a ton of fun, and well polished. [57 so far]

Always enjoyed playing against you, and you moderated the hell out of the HSC! I know its trite, but this too shall pass, and we all hope to see you here when you can.

Season 3/ Week 16 ~ The NEW HSC ~ Atari World Cup Soccer
DT Kofoed replied to Vocelli's topic in 2600 High Score Club
Prediction (sure to be wrong): Netherlands looked impressive, so I'm giving them a slot. Home Team Brazil is a possibility, and Germany is also a favorite to win, but since my cart says "Pele's Soccer" I gotta give Brazil the second slot. Just so I'm not copying MisterVCS, though, I'm gonna go Netherlands beats Brazil. Do I really think they will? Not especially, but then I've never been good at predicting the World Cup, so I'm not gonna think about it too hard. [When I helped my college buddies sent up their NCAA Basketball pool brackets, I usually ended up putting TBA teams into the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 just to mess with people!] -

Season 3/ Week 16 ~ The NEW HSC ~ Atari World Cup Soccer

From the manual for Pele: "The Referee The black lines you see on the left side of your television screen are the referee and the linesmen who assist him (see Figure 4). The referee blows the whistle to start and stop play and positions the ball for kickoffs and penalty plays." Only time I've ever seen a game try and justify those lines as both intentional and integral to the game! -
Hello, I'm in need of a quantity of Atari Joysticks, preferably the ubiquitous CX-40s, or possibly reproductions/similar style sticks, for a project I'm working on. These will be repurposed as lamps, and do not need to be working; in fact, I don't think I can bring myself to ruin a functional joystick, so I just am looking for nonoperational ones. That said, I do need them to have the complete base, rubber stick cover, and fire button. I don't care about the condition of the board or wiring, or the fire spring, or the retainer ring. It's completely fine if the internal white joystick is broken/cracked, so long as it's there. Please PM me if you have any available. Pictures are always good. Let me know what you want for the broken sticks and for shipping [Paypal is our friend]. Thanks for helping out!

Wish I knew how he made that shade!

FS: Custom-made IMAGIC Atari 2600 lamp and lampshade
DT Kofoed replied to timdu's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I have to ask: How'd you make that shade? I just built a lamp out of a CX-40, but had to buy a stock shade from the store to go on top... -
I couldn't sleep last night, so I built myself one of these: Don't worry, it had a bad board, a cracked joystick, and was missing the firing spring... didn't feel like the trouble of fixing everything, so I repurposed it. I hooked up the fire button to turn it on/off, which I'm pretty proud of. Just had to brag/share! I can't seem to post a video to the forums, so you can check out the satisfying pew-pew clicky action on my page for Art-Bit Decor.
