  1. I've been away from AA for a while due to some personal crises that hit all at once. I'm back now, no worse for wear! I'm in a new place and have some room now to set up my collection, so I took some pics. This isn't a permanent "display" but I just wanted to get them set up well enough so my kids and I could play them.
  2. Ack!!! I must find time to play! I shall return with my pathetic "high" score, LOL.
  3. Looks like they have some on Amazon... http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie%3DUTF8%26x%3D0%26ref_%3Dnb_sb_noss%26y%3D0%26field-keywords%3Dferrite%2520bead%26url%3Dsearch-alias%253Daps%23&tag=atariage&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957
  4. Uh oh--I have Vista too. Is this a known incompatibility thing? I was about to get my Harmony cart.
  5. Hey, my thread is still going! I haven't had much time to play lately since we've been super busy with real life stuff. (Real Life -- It Sucks [tm]) Things are settling down now though so I should be able to break out the Astrosmash again soon.
  6. That's a good list for us newbies to drool over.
  7. As someone who's relatively clueless about modern gaming, here's the impression I get from what I see on TV about it via their own commercials: war, fantasy-war, war, war, horror, war, war, horror-fantasy-war, war, death, war games. And, once in a while, a sports title. I'm not interested in the realistic first person shooter type games, and my kids NO WAY would play those type of games--they won't even WATCH scary or violent movies. I'm not going to spend $300 to play a lone annual NBA game. So, it doesn't seem like an xbox or PS3 would be worth it for us. If the game makers want to reach a broader audience, they're going to have to change their ad tactics because that's the impression I think a lot of people have of the current systems, minus the Wii. Maybe there are more games besides the violent ones, but you never hear about them!
  8. I'm 38 and I don't know anyone my age who thinks video games are just for kids. With games rated "M for mature" it's hard to imagine anyone who watches TV and sees commercials having that impression these days. I guess I could see elderly people who didn't grow up with video games thinking that way, though.
  9. I'd be a few hundred dollars richer, which doesn't sound so bad until you look at how long I've been here.
  10. I tried leaving bizarre (but nice) feedbacks for a while but no one seemed to notice... so I'm back to the old boring standbys, "Honest seller, quick shipping, thanks so much." Oh well.
  11. Our local thrift shops never have old video games, so he can't be blamed there. Looks like a great collection. I agree, you neeeeeed an Intellivision.
  12. I don't see anything wrong with the bids. Looks like Bob's bidding was gradual to me--after Chris and the others posted higher bids, Bob raised his own bids by $5 or so. What am I missing?
  13. My oldest active address is from 1997. My addresses before that were with schools I am no longer in, or ISP's that no longer exist.
  14. Just popping in to say I had my CV refurbed by Yurkie and it works great... $59 is a great deal for one of these.
  15. I would say that yes, a console like the Flashback is dedicated, because normal people can't change what's on it nor add new stuff. It was meant to just be used with the games it came with, and was sold as a stand alone unit.
  16. Not to prolong this, but when I got my package from Pseudonym I did check the postmark on it to make sure he sent it when he said he did. The postmark was correct, but the package still took well over a week to get here, from BC, Canada to New England, USA. This was back in late April/early May, so I believe before the postal strike? So for others who are waiting on packages from Canada, be aware it might take a little while. In fact I've never had a package from Canada take several days, mine always seem to take a week or more. Maybe I have crappy luck or maybe most sellers use the not-expedited option, I don't know.
  17. Miles Dyson? Is that you?
  18. Yes, if the damage was due to USPS handling (as the seller in this instance claimed--obviously falsely), then insurance would pay the $$ back. I just hate when sellers use the "you didn't ask for/pay insurance" excuse... it's not the buyer's responsibility to take out the insurance but the seller's.
  19. I totally missed the fact that you're in Canada, shipping to the U.S. Reading comprehension FAIL. Atarigal obviously needs more sleep.
  20. Are any of the games on your site still available to buy? Sorry if that's a dumb question. I can't find the answer to it on your website.
