As someone who's relatively clueless about modern gaming, here's the impression I get from what I see on TV about it via their own commercials: war, fantasy-war, war, war, horror, war, war, horror-fantasy-war, war, death, war games. And, once in a while, a sports title. I'm not interested in the realistic first person shooter type games, and my kids NO WAY would play those type of games--they won't even WATCH scary or violent movies. I'm not going to spend $300 to play a lone annual NBA game. So, it doesn't seem like an xbox or PS3 would be worth it for us. If the game makers want to reach a broader audience, they're going to have to change their ad tactics because that's the impression I think a lot of people have of the current systems, minus the Wii. Maybe there are more games besides the violent ones, but you never hear about them!
