  1. I'm so close to getting to the asteroid field on the 4th sector. D'oh, Blaster overheated!! 34,690
  2. Just a bit farther and I'm in richard stewart territory. 28,110
  3. Wow, those rocks are going to be a challenge to get past on Sector 4. It's a double-edged sword; if you hit the warp button, you run out of fuel. If you don't, your chances of survival are very dim. Just happy to force Cynicaster to play a bit more. 27,560
  4. @Larcen, this is indeed the game that Megamania was created from. You must be referring to the Atari 2600 version, right? I've played it, and it gets intense just like this one. A difference between Astro Blaster and Megamania is the controls. In Megamania, you didn't have the option of time warping as there is only one button on the joystick. Also, there is unlimited firepower available on Megamania, where there is not on Blasters. 20,280
  5. Ok. That's it. If I play Pepper II anymore, my hand is going to be mangled. 285,700 Actually, it already is. I'm very disappointed with my Pepper II result. Moreover, I compromised my Amidar score to get more time on Pepper. I guess these are the type of results to expect with the sh*tty "knockoff" joystick I am using on my X Arcade tankstick. I am starting to think a four way stick is a must. Or at least a Happ. In conclusion, a very average week, as far as results are concerned. The fun-meter, however, was off the charts.
  6. I find the payoff is low to go chasing after the eyes for points. If the eyes are in your path, or if you can nail 4 or 5 in the corner, it is worth it. PEPPER II 223,910
  7. An attempt to widen the gap between the Cynner and myself. Richard is sittin pretty with a 79K entry. 52,780
  8. Did you know that you can eat them while they're freezed for 100 points. my score: 53,780 Yes. I only eat them if I can't quickly get an ice block to the outer wall and pound him with a cube while he's dizzy. It's nice when you freeze three of them, then squash 'em for an easy 3200.
  9. Man, this game is for the true gamers. You really earn your bonuses in this game. Nothing is given to you on Pengo. You have to go and take it. I noticed the Sno bees get smarter as you go. One key example is freezing them with the outer walls. In the early boards, the Bees will hastily head to the wall and kind of hang around it, giving you plenty of time to shake them up. As you get further, however, they tend to go to the wall, tag it, then quickly run away from it. The main thing that makes this game so challenging is the unpredictability of the Sno bee's travel. It's not like any other maze game ever made! Things start getting really tough after the fourth intermission (Round 9) 49,820
  10. @patbb - That would be wicked for you to post some tips on this difficult title.
  11. There is a type o on Richard Steward's score. I'm sure it was an accident, but I thought I would bring it to your attention, Rob. BTW, that is a decent score for Pengo, Richard.
  12. Getting those special cubes aligned is quite the daunting task. Sometimes you get lucky and they are very close to each other right at the beginning of the board. 41,870
  13. Oh man, that happ competition joystick c an't come soon enough!! This game really tries my patience using an 8 way. This is my best yet: 99,460
  14. Wow. Watching that video of Rick Carter shredding up the boards on Nibbler was something else. I see the "terminal velocity" is blazing fast, as expected. I have to agree with the idea of following certain patterns in this maze game. Let's see one of our guys get a million!
  15. NIBBLERS - 49,060 They should use this game to test 4 way joysticks. This game can get awful frustrating, seeing that I have and X Arcade machine equipped with a feeble 8 way stick. I am guessing that the original short, red joystick that was used on PacMan and Ms. PacMan machines would be the best for Nibbler. A 'short throw' stick is what you want.
  16. This game is growing on me. That is what these games from the eighties tend to do. After awhile, I figured out if you can stay alive long enough to fend off some of the blue monsters, you can rack up some serious points. I guess this submission will have to do for now: 43,020
  17. Richard, you must be a master at Mr. Do's Castle to achieve such a score. Are there any other games that you are really good at? Welcome aboard. You will rise fast in the season standings if you keep that up.
  18. I'll give Castle a run tomorrow. For now, this is my Wild Ride improvement: 42,728 The 4th isn't as hard as I had originally thought. I need to beat that darn 5th board now.
  19. Whoa!! The fourth board kicked the crap out of me. Mr. Do Wild Ride - 23,778
  20. One thing you failed to mention is the little bonus you can receive if you collect an item that Goro is hiding behind. If the fat, red cat is standing still and hiding, collect the item immediately after. you will get an extra thousand.
  21. Oh yeah, baby!! It seems as if nothing was going wrong on this game!! The funny thing is, I said to myself: "There is no way you are going to get 100k on this game." But something made me play again. The MAME aims to Offend 'er!! 128,490 All I have to hope for is that the BIg BEE doesn't turn around and sting me at 11 am with a 130000 score or something. See y'all soon!!
