  1. I asked the author if he was going to port Stella to iOS last week. Wow that was fast! He makes the best emulator ports!!! It is for Jailbroken devices via Cydia store , not on Apple's app store. Oh, yeah, I've purchased it, and I would rate it 97/100. (Burgertime has the top numbers cut in half. I had a problem running frantic Stella. Did Dug didn't start, but a hack Dig Dug did.) It is DPC+ on the iPad! ( I kinda thought he'd port an older version like PSP.) Now I can show friends and family my latest batari basic DPC+ kernel work on my iPhone or iPad. So far he has ported PCE (TG16), NES, SNES, MD (Sega), and more.
  2. Ordered my XM a few weeks ago. I see it has been asked & answered, but the atariAge Beef Drop VE sold here without the pokey chip will use the pokey chip in the XM, or do I need to buy a special version for the XM? ...and what's VE stand for, anyway?
  3. Mine Arrived!! Saturday afternoon. Thanks, PacManPlus... BUT The power has been out here in the northeast US since noon :'( <crying> due to snow Nooooooooooo!
  4. Please add me to the "will buy a cartridge if ever one is available" List. (Doesn't hurt to ask... & shows supply vs. demand.)
  5. http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/176401-next-version-of-bb/page__st__250 If you want the bleeding edge latest batari basic, the last few pages of this thread helped me out. However, as of last night visualbb was removed and redownloaded ver (562), and would crash on launch, even after logouts and reboots, but today it runs just fine. Windows (7) will NEVER make sense to me. Until an installer is created, or things are put in one place, it will be confusing. I hope others respond. BTW my Emvironment variable bB is shorter than yours shows. Something like C:\AtariVCS\bB\batari2600.exe BUT my Environment variable Path is HUGE like yours, going into imagicMagic program in program files then windows, win32, etc., on and on, nonsense!
  6. Since SpiceWare removed digitized sound from Frantic , and since I can also use it on my Vectrex , me want, me want AtariVox rev2...
  7. Problem: When making a DPC+ sprite, Show in Emulator fails with bb ver d I guess because there is only around 100 bytes left in bank 1? Same problem with making a playfield.
  8. Me = curious! Do you have any 4K .bin to share that you got working on the 2600?
  9. I've had fun with this digitizing sound tool: http://www.atariage.com/forums/blog/138/entry-5907-wav2ataripl/
  10. My fortune cookie says, "It's about time I got out of that cookie!" - No joke!

I once got one telling me I would meet a tall handsome man. I didn't and was thoroughly disappointed, had to return the dress and heels I bought just for the occasion.

  11. Awesome, Pac Man Red. Your work inspires me to fire up the editor and build my 2600 sprites.
  12. I just thought I'd mention I got an FB2+ the last time it was on woot.com or woot.com/sellout mainly for the 2 joystick controllers (same price as buying 2 controllers), and the power supply. Found out that the power supply is not the same as the original, boo! Also disappointed they took out the Activision and replaced it with sports, and Caverns of Mars is not there (of which a thread here mentions that it was improved upon). Delighted they fixed Yars Return, have Asteroids (arcade), and Lunar Lander homebrew. Interesting trivia is that the instruction manual is Copyright 2010! How is that possible? Weren't these done manufacturing by 2005 or so??
  13. Here is the bonus round music from Mappy using DPC+ 3 channel audio. Notes range from A2 thru F7. Bars 0 thru 27 for each of the three channels. This is the original DPC+ demo with the music replaced, so it starts with the Snowman demo, press Select to switch to Bank 2 music demo. All the controls still work, right joystick directions for waveforms, left stick for channels with and without pressing the button. (I could have "NEXT" the ALIGN 256 better - think I left a chunk blank where I NEXT before filling up 255.) It took me three days. I still found some errant notes just before posting this. I used a .midi file through Anvil Studio Piano Roll to see which note value to type into the source file. 00-DPCMappyBonusMusic2.bin DPCplusMappy4 - Copy.asm.txt Someone please tell me how to add this to my bAtari Basic game. Er, okay, here's hoping a way is added to bAtari Basic to make music this way!
  14. My first demo was going to be a bouncing ball, but my simple atari 800 physics code would have to be changed to fixed point math. VEL=70: ELASTIC=0.8: BOTTOM=120: TIME=0.5: HORIZ=0.75 YPOS=BOTTOM-(VEL*TIME-16*TIME*TIME) There is more to it, but I don't know enough about fixed point, and I can't simplify the math to what batariBasic can do. If it helps anyone, here's a fixed point demo of a bouncing ball that someone more proficient then me may be able to convert: http://ekid.nintendev.com/bouncy/supplies.php The tutorial explains fixed point math, but again, it's beyond my level, and batari basic only has 4.4 and 8.8 and this demo uses more. I think proper "bouncing" physics with variables like velocity, resistance, and gravity (no matter how simple a pinball table graphic is) is what would make an awesome pinball game.
  15. I found the unused grasshopper sprite in Centepede (arcade). It's not so funny, but it is a bug!
  16. I, too, wanted a 2nd controller, but $150!!! Come on! Luckily I spotted a buy it now Vectrex with controller and minestorm overlay for $99 buy it now from Canada, which cost $47 to ship to the US, but now I have my backup Vectrex AND a 2nd controller. So there are still deals on eBay if you keep at it. My 1st Vec is a 1982 bought new when the prices crashed. This one I just got is 1983, says GCE Canada, but looks, works, and sounds the same. Can't wait for "Warrior" Just ordered that. Number 70 of 100. I heard there are 20 left. Played it on MAME, but it's one of the few arcade game I never saw in person. New Vectrex game in 2011... I never would have believed...
  17. I would have ordered from you already if I could have easily tracked down the various connectors required. Can you offer me any kind of deal to include 3x RCA and 1x SVideo ports? wongojack, I just ripped (desoldered) the 2 parts off an old broken DVD player that had SVideo out. See pictures. Colored wire, screws from junk laying around, hot glue, solder, DONE! I love it, and ordered from e-bay from LittleJoe "electronicsentimentalies."
  18. My iCADE has shipped too! Already have Atari Greatest Hits... I hope iMAME4all gets a quick update. I've tried Atari Greatest Hits with Wii remote, but no luck. Is this program looking for a bluetooth keyboard? Apple's first bluetooth keyboard (which I have) isn't compatible with the iPad. Has anybody tried Greatest Hits with the newer bluetooth keyboards?
  19. hmm nice, any pictures of the overlay in action? Currently we are working on the YASI overlay. Sure! This is 2 inkjet printouts one on top of the other. Color still isn't rich enough, so I look forward to buying your overlays, whatever design they are.
  20. Here is my homemade protector overlay artwork. I wanted green mountains, red aliens, and a blue score ( which isn't such a good idea since the blue is hard to align over the score). Your artwork will probably have red mountains and green aliens?
