  1. GOOD question; some years ago I bought a pair from somewhere and only 1 of the pair worked. So not a good buy for me at that time.
  2. You guys (and gals) need to get a good ADAM or two. I have never had all these problems with the ADAM; maybe I am just lucky. I leave data packs in drives for boot purposes, use the original printer/ps on 2 different systems setup, and have had virtually no data pack failures that I can remember. I am KEEPING my fingers crossed here!!! :-)
  3. Yes, that is the "problem" When ADAM boots, the eprom looks to see if disk drive 1, drive 2, data pack 1, or data pack 2 is in use. If not, then it boots the rom to activate the ide device. This harkens back to when the ide card was first implemented back in the 1990's. I am not sure just what is the problem, but it may have to do with booting programs after ddd 2 is locked into position by the ide card. We have observed the same problems with all ide cards available, some may or may not hamper operations of other software. When the ide card and other newer hardware were invented, they "stole" what was thought of as unused memory addresses and such, but now we find that they were not unused after all; thereby causing conflicts.

  5. Super games like Buck Rogers are on right directory tapes and most any other tape can be copied to them by using Filemanager to block copy. This would put a directory block on the right directory tape and then puts the program or data onto the right directory tape.
  6. GREAT, loved it!! THANKS
  7. Center pin #3 in the 5 pin power connector is +5
  8. and you didn't think the wife would let you have it!! Great Christmas for you!!!!
  9. I echo SHaMROCK...........................THANKS Luc and a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS SEASON TO ALL! 2021 will be better
  10. I've got 2 copies and I couldn't find a revision # on them. They are both preliminary release, as is yours. Dated 1994 which I thought kind of odd as the ADAM came out late 1983, albeit a bunch of bad ones.
  11. Well I am glad you found out what you needed. All this is beyond my wheelhouse. I am a "user" not programmer or designer. "-)
  12. They all were shrinkwrapped
  13. Ebay item number 114481115816 CV plus Atari add on and Steering wheel add on - all in original boxes. Bid @ $26 with less than a day to go. A STEAL for sure.
  14. There is a Filemanager program on the VDD. When it runs it will tell how how much ram you have.
  15. Sounds fair to me, BUT it depends on the difference on the Z or s designation. If not interchangeable, you could smoke something. I am not qualified to know the difference and I have been looking and not seeing what the difference is.
  16. Definately don't plug it in without replacing the caps. I don't know the value off hand but it should be marked ?????
  17. I like it!!!!! When you get just the right equipment, it works!! HAVE FUN!!
  18. Say WHAAAAAAT? thingy to hook to parallel card and do the impossible?
  19. Ok thinking....................OUCH, that hurt. The original software for IDE from Micro Innovations only allows 10 EOS and 4 TDOS partitions, while I think if you "copied" the cf IDE setup you got 20 EOS and 5 TDOS, correct? If so, the original will not be the best bet here..............
  20. Then it should work, the only software I used was the same as for making a physical IDE hard drive
  21. I may be off the curve here ...... but, I also wonder if you can just do a block copy of the cf drive #1 onto a zip disk.....................................seems like that would work, although I am not tech support or the programming brain
  22. Looks good mon..............I can email you the format disks, etc unless you want to give it a whirl your ownself. I looked at Ebay US & CA and they both had some available too.
  23. The label says simply IDE Zip 100, the ATAPI is labeled also. It's all in the sticker
  24. Exactly, that is the fun part. Remember, all this hardware dates back to the 80's
  25. Original ZIP 100mb drive only, ATAPI will not work, no way, nope
