  1. I for one had no idea until just a few days ago that so many were having trouble logging in the ADAM Wed night chat sessions. Some have upgraded all the time to the latest Java, while others such as myself have lagged behind. I am currently using Windows 7 with Java 7 update 51. I know I am behind the times, but it works when set to minimum security. I will have to check with some of the others on chat and see what they are using, whether newest version of Java and also what version of Windows everyone is using. Pixel boy first brought this to my attention and it needs to be addressed somehow. Next Wed's chat, it will have to be a topic of discussion.
  2. AWESOME Gerry!! I won't be be worth a darn at it, BUT I live the action. Time Pilot has the same action type and I get all turned around and miss shooting the planes, but I love that game too. Great job, keep at it and finish it up, it will be a great game !
  3. Looking GOOD Rey! You will have to tell the masses how to do it and what you used. I just took an old 180watt ibm supply and wired it to an ADAM power cord, works great, but not so pretty as yours.
  4. Ok Rey....got one for you IF it comes thru here. It is a .jpg and should be clear enough, the other alternative is a .png picture which is 3.5mg.
  5. OUCH! That is a tough one. Basically you need to spend another $200 to get an ADAM disk drive or find the stuff you want on data pack - even have someone copy the stuff for you that you need. You could use serial to serial ibm <-> ADAM but that is not a free road or an easy one either. The best way is ibm w/ 5.25 360k drive to copy to ADAM disk and then use ADAM disk to input into ADAM
  6. Hmmm Joe, don't understand about the email bounce, it is Rich Drushels page not mine. Anyway once at the page there is a registration link highlighted with the form. Day pass is $40 ( http://rinette.cwru.edu/~drushel/adamcon26/ac26register.pdf ) I sent Rich a message from that page, will see if it bounces from my end.
  7. For those who are following and are interested in the Coleco ADAM/ColecoVision annual convention, the registration has now been posted. http://rinette.cwru.edu/~drushel/adamcon26/ Will take place Jul 17th thru the 20th (Thurs eve thru Sun eve) in Cleveland, OH
  8. Ya, I think you should do it too! It is actually a great upgrade; AND ! if you want that MI ide card from ADAM's House to work, I can get you the gal to plug into it. The Microfox gal will work with all the older Micro Innovations cards. Then you would have TWO ide cards and TWO compete systems
  9. Tha's an AWESOME price Dan. Especially when it is guaranteed to work or send it back. Great purchase
  10. Heck yes, Jim. POST IT, then maybe I can upgrade the 100mb setup to include even more stuff when sold!
  11. Don't really know from experience that you are correct; but.......a retroduced (love that word!) ColecoVision with ONLY onboard games and no wayto play the original carts, just would not be the same as using the "real" thing. If it is not manufactured with any way to input ColecoVision games, I wouldn't think it would ever have the option or ability to add an Atari adapter as the ColecoVision has.
  12. Can do if I can remember and Daniel shows up on a Wed hence.
  13. AND Jim, i can just imagine that you would volunteer to be willing to sacrifice yourself by purchasing the cart ....... just for the good of mankind, of course!
  14. Daniel is alive and well; he was on chat for awhile last Wed evening. I didn't bring up the issue of the Poker cart (actually forgot to). My understanding before was that hardhat (Dale) was going to construct and send the carts; but maybe I am wrong......would NOT be the first time, ya know what I mean?
  15. If you need some evening reading, get the ColecoVision Technical Manual here: http://ann.hollowdreams.com/programming.html
  16. Oh yah mon, DAT'S no good. If you took them apart to know the decoder wheels are bad, there is not much hope for the drive except for motors, cords, and read head. IF it was possible that only the tire was melted and the wheel was intact and free, you'd have had a chance to resurrect them.
  17. Hey Rey!! Ask the sender to simply take other cardboard boxes, open them up, then cover over the ADAM box, taping the boxes together while NOT taping anything to the ADAM box. Works great, I have done it - slightly larger box than the ADAM box are hard to find. DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY!!!
  18. WELCOME to the ADAM/ColecoVision group here on AtariAge. There is a LOT to be learned here and a great bunch of guys and gals. CONGRATS!! The ADAM you boght looks to be in great shape cosmetically, that is surely a plus.
  19. HOLY MOOLY!!!!! that is EXPENSIVE!! Trouble is, yo are not buying a new one, just another used one.
  20. Well said Steve. Actually, I have my setups using ADAM power. I took the cpu apart and soldered the power cable for the adapter card onto the incoming power plug. Works great, but then again it is a radical mod for the average no mechanical user.
  21. Guys, I have been watching this thread with great interest. Power for the cf adapter would be very easy to "steal" from the ADAM itself, I agree. Our concern was this....IF the setup doesn't work when someone buys it, that is an unhappy user. There are significant power issues with the ADAM power supplies, especially after 30 years. Some will work great for awhile, then start to get unreliable after a period of time (Dale has one of those); I personally have one that will run the ADAM fine, but won't power the data drive. A few years back I sold an entire ADAM with IDE card and hd to a monk in the western US, he emailed that he couldn't get it to work; finally I asked if he was using the entire ADAM I sold him. Turns out he had just swapped out the cpu unit containing the IDE and hd; when he also switched out the printer, the system worked great - happy user. Apparently his original printer worked great with his vanilla ADAM, but lacked the extra power to run the IDE card and hd. The goal in using the extra power cube was so that there would be no power load for the adapter being placed on the ADAM power supply. And THAT was our reasoning. Heaven forbid that the IDE card itself put to much load on the buss; it would be ugly, but that also could be trace cut and externally powered I suppose. Anyway, my cardboard soapbox is starting to crush, so I bid you adios for now!
  22. Another great way to check your controllers is to buy Canadian Mini Games from Hardhat here on Atariage. It has a special progrm on the cartridge to check all controller operations. And besides it has a couple of neat little games as well
  23. OOPS !! Don't screw the up Joe, then you won't have any ! I have run across some Hytype 1 ribbons and they fit and work good, except that some sit tto high and get caught on the printer cover. I think it might relate to whether the printer has a type 1 or type 2 print head, but have never persued the subject, don't use the ADAM printer much.
  24. Seriously.......the ADAM can use just about any printer, including the ink jets and lasers, as long as the printer has a parallel connection and uses Epson codes. A wonder, ain't it?
