  1. Hmmm. I don't think that there is a scan of the ADAM Survival Guide that I know of. ANN does have the full scans of the ColecoVision Technical and Prigrammers manuals, as well as the ADAM Technical manual - all on line @ http:// ann.hollowdreams.com Will try and remember to "put the hurt" on the net while I recover from knee replacement this week; need something to do Have a GREAT Easter week, ya'll !!!!!!!! now if I could type and spell, i wouldn't have to edit my posts
  2. Jim, I did replace the printwheel when I saw the U key gone, and it is mentioned on the paper under the platen. I also gave him an extra print wheel. There are the games, etc on the cf hd system; BUT I need the setup of software from you, I never got it. Could use it on the next cf hd sale! Have never tried the brightening solution myself either and would like to know if it is esy and works without ruining the ADAM's plastic. I have some really bad plastic, especially keys on the keyboards.......some dark yellow, don't know if they can be saved
  3. DONE Dan. Tried sending to the .com arress, don't know if it went thru. Email me.... adamcomputer AT yahoo.com THANKS
  4. Been following the thread here remotely on a tablet. SUCKS!!! Finally got a connection going here via real internet. Jim is on the ball here with his knowledge of the ide interface card. I will not be back home until March 1st to make any sales or ship any cards and/or setups. In Florida where it is warm......sorry guys in the cold north....
  5. Unless me mind is playing tricks on me, I think the boot is only a 1k file, so it would not take a very big eprom
  6. The IDE setup could indeed be via a game cartridge. Walters did just that many times with various programs; much the same as booting a cart, or SmartBASIC, or CP/M, or any other ADAM program. Now we just need someone to put it on an eprom and stick it into a cartridge shell.
  7. Yes, it can be powered from the ADAM, IF your ADAM power supply can handle the extra power needed. On the rare occasion we will find a power supply that is marginal or won't even run the data drive, but will run the ADAM. That is why we also provide an external mini power supply, so you do not need to worry about available power. We do have a boot rom for the IDE cf setup, but it requires you to buy a specific parallel printer card with boot prom socket on it- and they can be hard to come by, if not impossible.
  8. Doc, that was almost 100% due to you not having a memory expander installed in your ADAM. Had that when we first got an ADAM, my daughter had to do a paper for school. Got to about page 9 or 10 and odd figures and fish were swimming all over the screen; luckily a neighbor who got us into the ADAM knew what the problem was and we cut the paper into separate files. Later got a memory expander and that solved the problem.........................but it still had it's limits, I am sure.
  9. JF, you "know" I want a copy of Mario also and I don't care what color the case is
  10. Let me be the FIRSt to wish ya'll a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS day ON Christmas Day itself. Get your presents all unwrapped and have GREAT and SAFE day!
  11. JF, nobody could have said it better. AND made a convincing and sane argument to share any prototype, lost, unrelease, ets stuff from Coleco and other mankers. BRAVO, my hero !!
  12. I don't know about the one eye thing, but this time, do NOT let them slip thru your fingers! Awesome labels!!!
  13. "1 Much beloved copy of Stage Fright text adventure from Reedy Software (just has a printed white label on data pack, bootleg or is that normal?) 1 Lab Mouse from Reedy Software (same question as above...pic below)" They are both original and not bootleg, that is the way Jack did all of the games he sold. Most if not all were programmed by others, and Jack just sold them thru his Reedy Software label.
  14. The best way is to figure things out is to ask with a picture. Remember, a pictureis worth a thousand words! Most of the ADAM stuff will be obvious how to plug it in, etc. If you go to my webpage and send me and email with your email address, I will send you a Coleco Disk Manager disk to use with the ADAM disk drive [free]. It is the best disk to tell if the disk drive is in calibration and working correctly. Between the disk and cleaning the disk with a special disk [i will give you one also], you will know for sure that the drive is clean and working.
  15. I personally think that the memory chips are the problem. We had (actually son) a CV unit with similar problems and and he dug up how to put new memory chips in it
  16. AWESOME JF. This is good news to get and keep that game alive for posterity
  17. Todd, I could not agree with you more. This seller is a detriment to all that is good and holy....and fair....and moral. All his auctions are high priced, and I cannot imagine that anyone would buy his stuff unless he actually finds the needle in the haystack rare item and someone else realizes it after digging thru all his nutty pricing. Needless to say, I can't believe he is selling anything, just using up his 50 free auctions per month and cluttering up Ebay's auction site.
  18. THAT is unreal JF. Burn Rubber is an awesomw game!! Especially when you play head to head with 2 driving modules. I would have thought that they would fly off the shelf. I know when it was demo'd at ADAMCON in Montreal, I was hooked and had to have it......HAD TO!!
  19. I love the idea of a 2nd release of cv games. It gives those who didn't get in on the 1st release a chance to own it; whether they missed the 1st release or heard how great the game was or just want it at a later date or, or, or for whatever reason. The programmers and producers of the games have to be proud of their accomplishment in making games available and then having users ask for more. AND it hopefully gives them both a litte more cash in their pocket to work on other projects. [off my soapbox]
  20. OH YA MON!! I want one too!! Missed the origiinal release. Want one
  21. There was an Ebay auciton recently also for just the CV box, all folded up flat and never used. Maybe you can find that seller
  22. Not anything I can tell you at this point in time Jim. BUT, testing on some other hardware is in progress and may be produced in the future. A time frame is not in place. good things take time! About the cf setup, this is going to blow you away with the speed of it. You may have used a physical ide drive, but the cf drive is almost instantaneous
  23. I have posted pictures on the ANN website showing the various pieces and how they hook together to make up and IDE storage system. I hope that this will help show just what is entailed in making the IDE storage media a reality. Check it out
  24. IN RESPECT TO SOME QUESTIONS ON THE IDE CARD, I WILL TRY TO FURTHER EXPLAIN THE SETUP. Question..............."I'm not really in to "making it on my own" if it is at all complicated <grin>...as such, I probably can't afford this thing until after the first of the year...do you anticipate them still being available then or even later, maybe 2013 or 2014? Question...............I'm still confused, I'm afraid...I've read your other messages and it sounds like you still need the IDE interface and power supply even if you only want to use the compact flash card....so if that's the case what can I do with just the interface card and software? *************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** OK, I will try to explain further. The ide interface card purchased by itself will come with software to make your own “hard drive” system. You would need to supply: 1. an ide device which would be: a. physical hard drive and ide cable to connect to the interface card b. compact flash card with an ide adapter w/ power and ide cable to connect to the interface card 2. a means of powering the hard drive or compact flash card – both need external power to run Then you need to go thru a precise process of formatting your ide device, initializing both the EOS partitions and TDOS partitions, then copying files from the supplied disks which contain the appropriate boot files for Coleco programs. Once all this is done, hopefully you have not missed a step or hooked something up wrong; and you have a 20, 40, or 60 mb FAST storage media. THEN you can copy the CV games, Coleco programs and Tdos onto the ide storage media. The entire reason behind offering the parts package is: 1. to save you from about an hour’s worth of work 2. to make the addition of an ide storage device a simple plug and play unit 3. not use incorrect parts and possibly “let the smoke” out of your new card (ruin it) Mark Gordon of Micro Innovations initially only sold his “hard drive” system’s as a complete unit for the reason's above - in order to protect the hardware and to make it easy for the user to set up the system and operate it. .................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. The parts package for $25 is an "at cost" package we are providing to make a "plug and play" package for the user; plus we are preloading it with most ColecoVision games and basic Coleco progams. We use a compact flash card because it has no moving parts to wear out like a used hard drive unit. IF a user wants to get his own pieces to make a system, so be it, but you won’t save any money and you will have the hassle making the system work. Possibly we should sell only a complete setup only.......... but then some would want only the interface card........ THE IDE CARDS AND PACKAGE WILL BE AVAILABLE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE..........AND THAT IS LIKE......20 YEARS or so. By offering this package, we are keeping them at cost to further the use of the ADAM computer and CV games. We want to make available to as many users as possible the chance to run a FAST storage system on the ADAM. There will be other Coleco hardware additions/replacements in the future also.
