  1. there is also Madam 7 and also Z modem. Will upload soon.
  2. Tain't looking good here, Florida still locked down in our county, and when we get to Michigan 3rd week of May, they are locked down till June.
  3. Should be what you want I think. Also if you need a printer card for the printer card, I have them. ADAM IDE Boot Driver with Hard Disk System v5.0 (2014) (AJM - RJD Software).dsk
  4. Tested..................like as in it can read the cardboard shipping disk? But, but, the light comes on and not quite sure where the ribbon cable attaches.......
  5. You are correct RT12, I have an updated version from Derek (not for release) and it is rather good. Can always use some polishing like most things. KEEP GAMING!!!
  6. Somewhere, somehow, there is usually a set of pins for a hd light. The trick i to find it. When used for an MI disk drive, is used as a power on light.
  7. Way way better, the front opening was to let air in as it is exhausted out the back or vise versa
  8. BINGO!!! The drive must be labeled as a Zip IDE in the id label; ATAPI drives will not work. These are hard to find and are the only ones that will work. If I recall, the 100 version is the only one that will work. The small Sparq drives work the same way as the Zip. Other than a cool adaptation, the mainline IDE hd or the CF versions are easier and more reliable to use.
  9. The IDE card can certainly be used with a physical IDE hard drive. It is slower than the compact flash version and susceptible to failure at a higher rate than than compact flash cards which are basically memory chips. I have an ADAM's set up that way as well as with a zip drive and one with a sparq drive (just for fun). It takes a special set of disks to format and set up the physical drives on a physical spinning IDE drive.
  10. AH HA !!! there is a recipe for failure. I also have reused lots of disks, 5 1/4 and 3 1/2. The failure rate of old reused disks is a problem; I have no knowledge of why or how, but I do know that they tend to go bad quicker than new old stock - even old ADAM disks seem to fair better than other reused computer disks.
  11. Better safe than sorry. On another note, I have left booting ddp's in for years (pop open after booting to not heat the ddd) and they boot up every time when the ADAM is turned on. Maybe it could be described as a crap shoot.
  12. YES, there are 2 sensors along the left side of the drive mech; if memory serves. They are a light and sensor, if the light is bad, the sensor won't see it and says the disk is write protected. The 2nd sensor is disk IN I "think"
  13. Is that a new title Luc? You are AWESOME as usual. A very HAPPY HOLIDAY today to you! And to all other AtariAge ites! Luc "May the wind under your wings bear you where the sun sails!" (Tolkein)
  14. And there is your answer. Probably made no difference by leaving both plugged in, as the voltages all go the same place; but the idea of the module 3 ADAM add-on was that the stuff out of the box was a complete ADAM if you added your own CV unit to the back of the ADAM module.
  15. Seller has a high opinion of that cart, I got 2 of them I think. Maybe I can sell them if I can get that price. Then I can retire from my reitrement
  16. Methinks someone has a screw loose here. But then, show knows.
  17. This is a Micro Innovations IDE hard drive interface card, goes into the left slot as you face the ADAM. Requires an IDE device wit special software installed so that ADAM can access it.
  18. A ripoff I agree too. This has to be a custom label made to look original and a price out of whack; but hey a person has to try, right?
  19. A good question for sure. In your case the best solution would be to use an old ibm desktop power supply that will provide you with +12v -12v +5v and -5v the rub is finding the -5v to use and no getting at AT power supply that needs a specified load for it to kick in. Attached is a jpg of the power needed. For others (you included), the power supply can be removed from the ADAM printer and used natively. BUT, that takes an ADAM printer to steal it from.
  20. Disk drives are worth $250 and up, especially working; and are very sought after. Power supply in the $50-75 range maybe.
  21. HMMMMMM.........I think you should become GODMOTHER :-) !!!!!
  22. Actually the price sounds spot on. What bothers me though, is that with the potential profit involved, the seller wants a mere $10 to ship this jewel.
  23. GREAT find, especially if it wokrs good out of the box!
