The 2011 Atari 2600 Collector Hall of Fame vote
mtshark7 replied to homerwannabee's topic in Atari 2600
Could we have individual links to each person with the highest votes to see their collection? -
Whats The Most You Have Paid For An Atari 2600 Cart?
mtshark7 replied to scorpion's topic in Atari 2600
I became victim of the misleading hozer video game The Texas Chainsaw Massacre game on ebay for $77 including S&H :-( Then I contacted Randy directly and I got 4 repro's for $30. -
However, on topic I think the Flashback 3 needs a HUGE improvement! It would definitely be worth buying if the SD card slot acted like a Harmony Cart where you dump ROM files and play them through the console; otherwise its just a half-azz version of the flashback 2. Its also not 100% certain that its coming out right?

I had no idea there are 2 versions of the word (realise & realize)...guess you learn something new everyday lol

Is there any way you could upload a .zip file of your roms all sorted out below for others to use? Thanks!
-
You can use a headphone jack for it found at radio shack...here: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2104061 Hope that helps and is what your looking for.

Thanks Yellow_Lantern!!! Kudos to you! I been ripping my hair out all day today trying to find that damn part, lol :-)

Atari 2600 Hacks and Homebrews ROM Collection V1.2
mtshark7 replied to Impaler_26's topic in Atari 2600
so does any one have a 100% COMPLETE collection of atari 2600 roms? I know rom hunter is missing a few of them in his latest collection. EDIT: Also nicely sorted and organized? Thanks! -
"they probably didn't realize how much of a hounding the Atari" um, confused by an SD card??? Grnted, I can get confused at a number of things, but SD cards and capabilities aren't one of them. Gimme a break! Every third device now uses an SD card for something, have for years. Did they think this would get confused for, say, a PS3? Or how about a Wii? Yes, very confusing (sheesh again). The article said that the company was acting flakey. I bet they were, they probably didn't realise how much of a hounding the Atari lover community could give them. Not sure about the rest of the forum users here, but I will make phone calls and hound and hound till I get my information. So it's another knockoff that has one obvious benefit: front plugging joysticks. PASS. It also stated that the product has already been sent back to China. Why is that? Hopefully for melting down and making into something better than it is. WHEW! Love that coffee rush, makes me feel like flaming a knockoff company!

Nope sorry I do not. So are you gonna post the final versions of both ms./ and pac-man? with screenshots?

what Swordquest did you need?

So I ran into a slight inconvenience with my s-video/AV mod for the Atari 2600...now I gotta buy my own connectors and wire for the circuit board since the longhorn engineer doesn't sell them anymore :-( SO I got the AV female plugs and the wire....so apparently radio shack doesn't have the s-video female connector (socket). Does anyone know where I can buy 1 s-video female connector (socket)? Thanks for your help!!! Attached is the pic of the S-video socket I need.

Soooo Jr. Pac is the Ms. pac man finished? or are you still working on it?
-
Someone should definately try this! Also tell CPUWIZ so he can update his instructions for the pause mod. I agree with Keatah's idea to use the current wires only if connection 9 isn't physically present in the joystick and the joystick wire and to 'alter' the current wire setup on the joystick.
-
Damn! I noticed that myself and it won't let me edit it? Thanks for noticing tho I might start working on the mod/mods on Friday since it's supposed to rain Armature? This caught my eye and stuck had to lol. I agree with Rich kinda, but then again the modder side of me wants to encase an original 2600 in a riveted steel case. But then again I want an original as well. Internal conflict.
-
Rich: Nice I would like to see pics of it if you can find it....I def. miss the 'old' Radio Shack :-( even tho thats all I go there for is electronic parts.
-
how much would S&H be from area code: 08021 ??? Also, do you do discounts if I would like to buy more than one? Thanks!
-
Well it could be possible as long as connection 9 on the joystick is in the wire and on the board of the joystick and use pin 8 for ground you could add a switch on the joystick and connect the pause mod to pin 9 and 8 on the console that might work. Just as long as there is a physical wire for pin 9 in the controller and through the wire, I dunno if there is or not. There would be more research needed. I didn't get my puase kit in the mail yet so I'm not sure what those 2 orange wires are (+ and -) ?

Thanks guys! I should have it completed sometime this week or next week depending on my schedule. I'm actually doing 3 mods in one so I'll post pics of this mod and start a new topic with all 3 combined (LED, S-video/AV, Pause). Rich: There's no reason to get upset, I'm just modding my LIGHT 6-switch model. I can see if I was going to do it to a Heavy 6-switcher then that would be an entirely different story but I'm not. Also LIGHT 6-switches are a dime a dozen and aren't really rare. I'm modding my POS one and fixing my good one with a new 6-switch board once I get confirmation from best electronics. So I'll still have a original LIGHT 6-switcher :-) Also I'm not an armature at doing electronic work; I have a Batch of Sci. in computer engineering and took a bunch of electronic courses to know what I'm doing. I am interested however to know more about that custom A/V box you made...

Is there a circuit schematic of the 'ultimate/best' S-video & A/V Mod? Any SPICE schematic would be great!

Hey I'm planning on doing the Power LED Mod for my atari 2600 as well as add 2 additional LEDS to the top casing where it has the 2 circular patterns. I was researching how to connect multiple LEDS and I found you had to connect them parallel with a resistor at the (-) end. I always thought that the resistors had to be connected at the positive (+) end of the LED. So which way should they be connected??? Here is a link to Power LED mod: http://www.vintagegamingandmore.com/led-guide Here is a link to Multiple LED: http://www.techdose.com/electronics/Wiring-Multiple-LEDs/226/page3.html Attached is a pic of where I plan to place the 3 LEDS. They are also the same type (Green) with 100 ohm resistor attached to them each.

what's the value of the green capacitor that needs to be replaced?
-
Awesome! Thanks! In that case, I'm actually just gonna buy a whole new 6-switch board for it (since all the switches will be new, the channel select will be new, the RF box will be new, and the voltage regulator will be new too) I just gotta find more stuff to buy since best electronics has a minimum paypal purchase of $50 which is lame. Replace the 7805 power regulator. Only a few dollars at Radio Shack. It's the black piece with the three legs on it. You might want to spray some contact cleaner in your power switch too.

You can already buy the Arcade version of Pac-Man from the AA Store: http://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=104 If you complete the ms. pac-man maybe you could sell them here at the AA store? Good luck with the project! I'll check your versions later today.
