The pics of my restoration even if they are not so great
mtshark7 replied to RichG1972's topic in Atari 2600
Last week I ordered all the parts I need for my atari 2600 mods. So I will start/finish my mods sometime by the end of this week or next week. I will post a new forum with pics and details...hopefully everything goes smoothly -
LMAO! I have that game too! It is very bad....didn't return it tho I'm trying to build up my atari 2600 collection and my NES collection this month but it seems I buy more NES games than atari 2600 i think that is hilarious!

Actually I am also having an issue with my other light 6-switch. When I turn it on it goes on but after a few mints it will turn off and the power switch will be on still. So I turn it off and on and stil nothing. So I unplug the power from the unit and plug it back in and then it works again. It turns off every now and then...so would this be a switchboard issue? Cos the power switch is sluggish and doesn't 'snap' into place like the other switches do.

I been having similar issues with my light 6-switch atari 2600. I'm assuming its the RF modulator that has gone bad. I plan to do a AV mod sometime next week so hopefully that fixes the problem. ADDL Note: When I looked at the underside of the RF Modulator that is connected to the switch board it looked all dirty so I'm assuming I could clean it with an alcohol swab and remove all of the gunk and that should help it...haven't done it yet...might do it today and reply with my results.

I just bought one and have a few thoughts.

LMAO! Thats awesome! Damn, now I REALLY Want one!!! lol You can put every game, hack, demo, homebrew, whether complete or WIP versions, all prototypes, and anything else and still have maybe 1.98 GB free. -
Zylon: Awesome thanks!!! Also stay tuned cos after I finish my Atari 2600 mods I'll post pics of before, during, and after pics for you all to see! Additionally, I was thinking couldn't you add a POT across pin 6 and 9 on the TIA and adjust it until the picture comes in the clearest? our could you damage the TIA chip by too low or too high resistance?

Thats what I was thinking too...but I assume you can put EVERY atari 2600 game on that 2GB card? I'm going to buy the Deluxe version when I get the extra money since it comes with everything you need. -

Which harmony cartridge should I buy? The standard or Deluxe? I was thinking about purchasing one in the near future. -
I will post my 2600 list later on after I buy a few more carts...I definatly don't have ALOT tho :-(

Zylon: Excellent job on the pics! Also, how do you know which revision the board is? To sum things up...the only revisions you would need to do this mod to are: 9, 12, & 13? Thanks!!!

A comparision screenshot would be awesome! Maybe one of it actually in use too...to show the picture quality difference?
-
I would only buy it if you are collecting the various versions of Atari 2600...or at least mod one of 3 that you currently own if you plan on buying a Jr. version. The most I would spend on a Jr. would be $45 approx.

Awesome thanks for the tip! I can't wait to do my 3 Mods to my Atari 2600!!! Its gonna look amazing! I'll start a new thred once its finished so everyone can see the awesomeness. :-) It's not necessary, but helps. Most av mods I've seen are slightly darker picture so it can only benefit you. IMO

would this resistor mod be needed if you are doing a composite/s-video mod?

The Official 2600 Easter Egg and Programming Mysteries Thread
mtshark7 replied to Tempest's topic in Atari 2600
Does anyone have any videos of these easter eggs? I think that would be better then just a word description of whats happening. I would definately like to try them but I think a video would be ideal for that :-) I saw the video orionpax posted for mountain king....any others? ADD: The mountain king one was also mentioned in AVGN's game glitch video. -
The pics of my restoration even if they are not so great
mtshark7 replied to RichG1972's topic in Atari 2600
So I finally bought my 2nd 6sw atari 2600 from my friend and I found out that both of my 6sw are light and not heavy! So I mixed and matched both components and found out that the one I bought off my friend, the power switch is slugish and doesn't have a nice 'click' to it and the channel selector is stuck on 3. So I decided to relace the switch board from best electronics from Rich's suggestion. Then with my original one I'm gonna do the 3 different mods to. Now that I know its only a light model I don't feel soo bad I will post pics of my progress/completed atari L6sw :-)
