Ok kool. Thanks dwane! I'm still undecided if I'm gonna collect both. Maybe I will only if I run into both and won't actually try to collect both....i dunno lol. I think so far I have 4 or 5 games that I have both copies to.
-
So I was going through my Atari 2600 game collection and I noticed that I had 2 different version of pac-man both atari and sears versions. Now I know they have made the same games, but I was wondering if anyone on here had a list of them? So I could keep track of differnt game variations. Also, do ppl collect both versions? Or would one copy from either be ok? Thanks!
-
WOW that's awesome! I never knew that about the vader Atari 2600's.
-
I think the only reason to keep them is if you are collecting all the different versions of Atari 2600. The only 4 switch I own is the Black 'vader' one which I enjoy cos it has the best picture and sound compared to my two L6 ones.
-
Thus far the only rare ones I own besides my repo's are: Robin Hood (R8) Polaris Green Label (R7) Pick Up (Prototype) ...still have to go through my atari pickup from last Saturday still...there might be a few in there and a few I'm missing.
-
Thanks everyone for the additional info on the game. I'm surprised they never made an official release for it, its actually a very good game in my opinion. Is there any place online where you can buy atari 2600 prototypes? Thanks!

AC adapter for original NES?
mtshark7 replied to Dave Farquhar's topic in Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) / Famicom
Ha Ha, thats the exact same one that came with my nintendo! -
I'm getting a Atari 2600 H. 6-SW with a few games and the system box for $30 this saturday :-)
-
Thats awesome! I'm thinking about doing the same thing to my L.6-SW model since the RF is complete crap and I only get good picture when my Atari 2600 wants to, lol. Any guide/pointers would be great! :-)

AC adapter for original NES?
mtshark7 replied to Dave Farquhar's topic in Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) / Famicom
Oh ok, Thanks! I sorta figured the current was too low :-( Damn, I was hoping it would work cos the power supply is nice and tiny....I hate HUGE power supplies! LOL 500mA is too weak. It won't hurt anything but it probably won't work properly. The voltage is fine, and the NES doesn't care about polarity. The supply for an older style Genesis works well on the NES, and they seem to be easier to find. -
So I recently picked up "Pick Up" for the atari 2600 and I'm surprised to note that there isn't much information on the internet about this game. I was wondering if anyone here knows about this game or has any insight on it. From what I played is a fairly decent game, supposedly it was only offered at the gaming conference in 2002. So does anyone have any more info about this game?

I would also be interested in a NTSC Halo 2600 cart if available...thanks!

AC adapter for original NES?
mtshark7 replied to Dave Farquhar's topic in Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) / Famicom
I just bought a NES yesterday and the power supply I got with it was a dual NES SNES adapter. So I went through my random adapters I kept and found one that was used for one of my old cell phones I think? The specs are as follows: Input: 120v AC 60 Hz Output: 9V DC 500 mA Ploarity: (-)---(*---(+) I was wondering if this adapter would work since it seems that all you need is 9V DC...or would 500 mA be too small? Thanks for the help!!! -
How come you can't purchase any Jaguar homebrews via AA store?

How about Moon Patrol???? My 2nd Favorite Atari 2600 Game!!!

Awesome! Thanks for the tip! Also about the wiring aspect would it work if i strpped one end of an s-video & A/V cables and solder them to the 24 pin connector? I made my cable with a 24-pin connector I got from Digikey. EDIT: They don't have the one I used in stock any more, but it was close to this one: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=S3304-ND The only differences I can spot are that mine is black and has sharp instead of rounded corners.

The pics of my restoration even if they are not so great

Oh ok....so you haven't referb'ed any since then? Side Note: That video is definately helpful in determining a heavy and light 6'er...very nice! Those pictures I have posted ARE of the before and after of the 6 switch, I can't post any better ones because that Atari was stolen back in 2003 and the camera I used at the time was the best I could find -

Rich do you have better pics of the restored atari? Preferably closer/larger images. Also 12MP+ quality to show the nice details. And possibly some before pics too? -

Thanks Rich! Wow those parts are alot cheaper than what I paid for my RF cables on ebay! I think I paid like $8 for them and the other I paid $12 but it came with the RF adapter to hook directly to the coax plug in the back of the TV. Replacing the switchboard and getting the upgrade 2600 rf cable with the RF supressing Torrid cured my Atari, here are the stock numbers and part numbers of the parts you'll need: Atari 2600 / 2600A / 2600Jr Upgraded RF cable w/ RF suppressing Torrid CB101710 $5.00 Atari 2600 complete US Switch board assembly CA012233 $12.00 Atari US 2600 Power supply CO16353 / CA014034 $9.95 And here is their contact information: Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 1:30pm to 5:00pm PST (International Customers when calling in to us, remember your local day may be a day ahead or behind us depending on your location in the world.) Telephone: (408) 278-1070 Just use this post with the part numbers when ordering the parts and they even take debit cards over the phone which is how I order my parts and the wait is about 3 days which is great for me. -

Damn! I wish I known about this site sooner! Maybe I'll order an RF cable for my Atari 2600 and that might fix the crappy picture coming outta mine. I was originally just going to widen the original hole but the plug was too huge that it could only come out the side of the unit, I even tried bending the wire but it wouldn't budge due to its thinkness. -

RichG1972: I myself have never owned the Heavy Sixer version because being the most scarce of the system the price is too high, plus the system is more regal looking because of the aluminum disks in the joystick tops with the Atari logo, before you mod your system check 2 things, see if the power switch is loose, if it is or if any of them are just re-heat and re-melt the original solder and that will remedy that, plus re-heating the solder on the power jack works wonders too. Try that and save modding as a last resort. This is what I do, I exhaust any and all possibilities first as I am not an extremist :::MY REPLY::: I guess I'll try re-soldering the connections for the RF cable and see if that fixes my crappy picture I'm sure by now the current connection is brittle. I'll try that first, I think my friends 6'er that hes selling me next weekend works perfectly besides the loose power switch which I'll just order a new switch board for it.. I got a question tho...sorta off topic: Last year I replaced my RF cable for my Odyssey 2, however the cable I used to replace was ALOT thicker than the original cable so I drilled out a hole in the side of the console to fit the cable and the picute looks FANTASTIC! The RF cable is gold plated as well....now my question is would you consider that Modding of a console, even tho I just replaced the RF cable? My g/f thinks it is and I say it isn't. -

Awesome! Thanks Rich! I am actually gonna buy my friends heavy 6'er next weekend and I might need a new switchboard cos he told me that the power switch is very sensitive and turns off easily so I'll definately check that out. Also, I finally gotten my Atari 2600 outta the closet and I think its a Heavy 6'er, since I am buying my friends heavy 6'er and I got the other Atari arriving soon, then I'm definitely gonna Mod my current one; I was playing it tonight and the picture was fine then all of the sudden it got fuzzy and blurry for no reason. So I'll definitely have pics posted. So in total I'll own 3 Atari 2600's, LOL :-) I'm a 2600 horder Rich did you ever referb another Atari 2600 after that a$$ stole that one from you? I think you might of mentioned it earlier but I forget, lol -

Schizophretard: Wow that’s awesome! I had no idea you could mod the expansion module. I thought those were hard to come by? I could be wrong tho. Also I don't own a ColecoVision...yet :-( I definitely agree with your VCS extinction idea. Now I think about it, IF mine is a heavy sixer compared to a light sixer then I might not do the mod...but last time I hooked it up a few months ago the color/B&W switch didn't work :-( SO maybe if I do the mod then it might work? Decisions, decisions, lol Also, I did buy a 4-switch atari with box and everything and 10 games for $102 a few days ago...so that one I'm definately not gonna mod at all cos it should be in tip top shape. You should of definitely picked up that woodgrain TV. One TV I would like to have is the ones with the built in NES, that would be awesome! I saw one on ebay but it was local pickup only :-( I shoulda bribed the person $100 extra to ship ...to ship one of those cost around $65 which isn't too bad. -
