The pics of my restoration even if they are not so great
mtshark7 replied to RichG1972's topic in Atari 2600
I think the channel thing varies from place to place an TV to TV. I have an old Insignia 32" LCD in my room that might have different results had I bought a more expensive 32" HDTV. I might pick up an old CRT sometime at a goodwill store and use that for my coax video games to keep it old school and AV and up go on the HDTV :-) A good thing to note when I get my own place and create my room for all my video game collection :-) -
Oh yea now that I think about it Mortal Kombat wasn't released until 1992. Wow sooo long ago! The new Mortal Kombat is amazing, in my opinion :-) Mortal Kombat was so controversial because it was the first of its kind, hence it sent the "Think of the children!" brigade into a frenzy. By the time Kasumi Ninja and Way of the Warrior were released - I think both were released after MKII - gore in fighting games was no longer shocking.

That’s a good point. However, that’s why its good to have duplicate systems, one original and others for modding. Modding is especially handy since allows old consoles to be more compatible with HDTV's...I can't wait to play my modded Atari 2600 on my 65" HDTV with surround sound :-) Additional Note: Yes I do play some of my consoles through RF...my Fairchild Channel F, Odyssey 2, Sega CD, Intellivision...etc but its always a pain in the a$$ playing them cos everytime I turn on my tv I have to 'refresh' the channel. For example, when I have it set to channel 4. I go from channel 4 (fuzzy) to channel 3 then back to channel 4 again so the picture becomes normal. -

I'm not sure yet I gotta dig out my atari 2600 when I get home from work/gym tonight. Its crucial that I know which one I have for my upcoming 3-part project I'm gonna do on it: A/V Mod, LED power light mod, & Pause mod (once AA Store is back up). AV Mod: http://www.longhornengineer.com/Videomods/Videomods LED Mod: http://www.vintagegamingandmore.com/led-guide Pause Mod: http://www.victortrucco.com/Atari/AtariPausa/atariPausa_en.asp I'll post pics of progress/finish if you would like. Prolly won't get around to working/finishing it until end of June. Rich: Besides referb have you tried doing any modding work? Such as the ones described above? -

I have a 6-switch but how do I know if its a light or heavy one? I hear that one is heavier and one is lighter than the other but since I only have one 6 switch I have nothing to compare it to in order to determine if its heavy or light. Is there a way to determine the difference besides weight? -
ALSO this seems a lil too expensive for an R7 Halloween game CIB...if perhaps it was an R8 or R9 then that would make much more sense. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 140553978346

I think the rarity guide should be broken down further. Like game only, game and manual, or complete (game, box, & manual) with all seperate rarity values.

I thought the FCC warning only voids your warranty and with these systems being soooo old who gives a damn? I modded my sega genesis and threw out the RF shielding and it works perfectly and I highly doubt it affects anything too! Especially since everything is Digital, wifi, and BT anyway. -
I feel that Kasumi Ninja for Atari Jaguar and Way of The Warrior for 3DO both have their different types of MK parody...also I thought that both were WAY more violent than MK but yet MK got all the controversy due to its popularity, lol.

Awesome setup! One of these days I'll post my collection on here...when I'm in a non-lazy mood

That is true it not difficult...I assume. But I think the thing that might scare ppl the most besides the soldering aspect is making sure you solder the right connections together. Especially if you accidently solder to the 5V pin I'm sure that won't be pleasant. I still have to find a 'decent' place that sells the 24-pin connector...yea I know you can 'modify' a floppy drive connector but that's too annoyingly complicated. I'd rather pay $5 for the part.

Thanks Zerosquare! If anyone has anything else to add that would be great! The more resources the better. I could prolly come up with a fail-safe guide on how to make these....and variations of the cables....A/V, S-Video, A/V & S-Video combo. Heck, maybe even a female A/V and S-Video input to the Jaguar...aka a cheap catbox even?

Hey everyone! I recently bought a S-video & A/v Combo cable for my Atari Jaguar. Once I got it, I figured if I made my own it would be way less expensive then the $35 I spent on the cable. I have found a few sites to help with creting your own cable: Atari Jaguar A/V Out Pinout: http://www.allpinouts.org/index.php/Atari_Jaguar_Audio/Video S-Vdieo Pinout: http://pinouts.ws/s-video-pinout.html Another Link: http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/jagav.htm Some youtube videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVoJBq7Hdl0 Does anyone on here happen to have links to how to actually make these cables or where to buy the parts? I figured this post would be nice for those wanting to hook up their Atari Jaguar to a HDTV for cheap :-) Any insight would be great! -Mtshark7

I think the values for 2600: Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween values should go up a few points. Both should go from 7 to 8/9.

would this be an official copy of TCM? I'm assuming no since this is the sellers second sale? Thanks! eBay Auction -- Item Number: 290564237269 -Mark
