I thought WD-40 is a multi purpose lubricant? I did end up using WD-40 on the cd activation button and it ended up fixing the jamming and now works perfectly! I was careful enough to spray the WD-40 on a Q-tip and wipe the Q-tip on the activation pin...Once i got the WD-40 on the spring is when it started to finally un-jam completely. I wouldn't have harmed the console using WD-40 on a Q-tip right? So far it works perfectly and plays all my games 100% and I'm able to swap discs at the cd player menu since it knows when I open and close the disc tray. I have found yahoo answers on the topic with WD-40 and plastic: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20101019182719AAvWtd8

Ugh I thought I fixed it by opening it up and locating the cd activation button and twisting and pushing it from the underside to pop it back into place...but now it got jammed up again! Now I know the reason why I couldn't swap discs from the CD player menu, haha...gonna use wd-40 and an alcohol swab to lubricate it and hopefully that should work.

Austin: I try doing that with mine and it keeps coming up with a disc read error. Seems like the previous game is loaded into memory and when I try to load up a new game it tries to load up the game I just stopped. Is there a setting I have to change for it to clear the memory when it goes to the cd player screen? I found this site to do the language mod..and violence/content mod according to Tempest: http://www.egameaddiction.com/neogeocd/techdocs/sai/languagemodbysai.html Had no idea it affected the content of the game...how lame! Tempest: If I wanted a 3 way switch what would they be called? I know to in order to switch between two you need a SPST switch.

Ok so I got the system over the weekend, and it is a Japanese console cos when the menu comes up it's in Japanese lettering. I heard you can do a mod to switch it over to English? Does anyone know a good site that had directions on how to do the language mod for this? Also I noticed with mine it doesn't boot the game up initially, you have to press start at the cd player menu to load the game up. I also got scared cos when I tried to go back to the menu and put in a different game and try and load that game it would come up disc read error? I then cleaned the discs and the lens with an alcohol swab and it seems to work perfectly since. Just need to get some more games for it.

PS4 Dualshock 4 Controller Issues (Sticky Buttons)
mtshark7 replied to mtshark7's topic in Sony PlayStation 4
yea but I don't want to do that cos it's the only controller I have...and it's was too expensive to go out and buy a second controller while I wait for the current one to be shipped and repaired by Sony. Unless I can ship it to Sony and they can have it back within 2 days...which I highly doubt...that damn Assassins Creed 4 isn't going to beat itself, lol Or is there anyplace to get slightly used ones real cheap...or cheap new ones at some overstock site? -
PS4 Dualshock 4 Controller Issues (Sticky Buttons)
mtshark7 replied to mtshark7's topic in Sony PlayStation 4
Here's more info: http://www.lazygamer.net/video/dualshock-4-controller-issues-are-getting-worse/ -
So I had my PS4 since launch and just recently at the end of last month I noticed the triangle and the options button were sticky/mushy. I would press it and it would 'stick' and slowly come back up or felt like there was goo underneath the button. I haven't spilled anything on it and keep my video game stuff in pristine condition. I researched it and apparently it has been a common problem unfortunately with other buttons: http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/PS4-Support/Triangle-Button-Sticky/td-p/20622131 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeFsfczcCDM I was wondering if anyone had any issues with their PS4 controller and would they know how to fix it? Would I have to take it apart and clean it? I think the last resort would be to buy a new one and return the old one at Wal Mart or something. Thanks!

I only have to do it because I'm currently saving up for a house and we are having a baby girl that is due May 17th...but I have been good...the money I spent on the Neo Geo CD was out of my own pay...it's not like I took it out of my savings to pay for it. Also I lost my game room last month because my girlfriends sister and her sisters son moved in so they took that room (we live in a two bedroom town house). So now my collection is being stored in our closets throughout the house...so I guess you could add space being an issue too :-/ Once I buy a house i'll be fine then...which I'm hoping to do sometime the end of this month depending on where I am financially.

#3: Sega Saturn - Solar Eclipse

I don't miss the bulky-ness and the weight of a CRT. I just wish they would make something you could add to modern TVs that will allow you to play light gun games.
-
Ohh man I think some of mine would be: Super Mario Bros 2 Regular stage music. Super Mario Bros 3 World 1-2. Mega Man 2 & 3 various stages that I can't think of off the top of my head.

The top loader doesn't have an RF adjustment pot inside. Probably doing an AV mod should fix the issue

Sega/Atari/Coleco, DB9, and extension cables
mtshark7 replied to GoldenWheels's topic in Classic Console Discussion
DB9 Serial cable will work...I use them with my Atari 2600 and they work perfectly. I think they're a lot cheaper than those retro bit extension cables as well. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F6ft-DB9pin-Male-Female-Extension-Serial-RS232-Straight-Through-Cable-Cord-SHdisc-%2F291062953654%3Fpt%3DUS_Parallel_Serial_PS_2_Cables_Adapters%26hash%3Ditem43c4b436b6 If you need them for multiple systems I'd suggest buying them in a lot to save money in the long run. -
Post your favorite underrated consoles
mtshark7 replied to xDragonWarrior's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I enjoy the 5200, I just wish I had more free time to play it, I bought two gold controllers from best and played it a few more times then put it back in the box. Maybe once I get a house with my own game room where my systems will be freely accessible then I could play it more. -
Post your favorite underrated consoles

Ugh man I'm one of those weird ones who love underrated consoles, lol. For me it would be the following: Magnavox Odyssey 2, Panasonic 3DO, Sega CD, Atari Jaguar/CD. -
How many systems have you ditched?
mtshark7 replied to Gemintronic's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I think they were BIN's...not sure if they sold Mind Roll for $100. -
Sweet! It's nice to lighten the load Do those games still play on an NTSC O2? I hear mixed answers on if they do or not...some say some play on hardwired controller model and some play on the removable joystick model.

The Odyssey 2 is one of my favorite consoles, mostly due to being my very first console I ever played and the one that got me into gaming. It also gave me very fond memories, playing it with my cousins growing up. Now I been trying to buy every single US release for it (Homebrews are a bonus, even tho I own most of them) Off the top of my head the only ones I'm missing are: 1. Power Lords 2. Keyboard Creations 3. Atlantis 4. Frogger 5. Popeye 6. Qbert 7.Super Cobra I also modded one of my systems to use Atari 2600 controllers with a power LED mod, and amplified video/audio mod. I do have one unit that I still haven't gotten around to modding to sell...Only thing wrong with it, it has a rectangle size crack in the case on the lower left side.

Even tho it's rather early in 2014: First games I beat are: 3DS: Super Mario 3D Land...still nit picking at the special worlds/getting all the 3 coins on each stage from time to time...but the main story is complete and I rescued Luigi. 3DS: Mario Kart 7.
