  1. Yes the SIO2SD works with my NTSC Atari 800XL. Also, I just found my old Atari 1050 disk drive, and tried it with my Atari 800 Incognito, and it will not boot anything; still just saying "138 Device does not respond". So it looks like anything SIO related does not work on my Incognito :/ @FastRobPlus: Does real floppy disks work on your Incognito? Could you try boot at game or some other software using your disk drive with a floppy?
  2. Just to let you know, I just hooked up my SIO2SD device (made by Lotharek, that I normally use with my Atari 800XL) to my Atari 800 Incognito, and it also only shows "138 Device does not respond" when I mount a game.atr file to D1, and try to access it with a DIR command.
  3. Would you like me to send the Incognito back to you? Maybe that would make it easier for you to fix this problem we have?
  4. Okay so I found my SIO2PC cable, and hooked it up to my PC Win7 through USB. I then downloaded APE v.3.0.2, and the devices seem to connect (the green LED light are flashing when I turn on the A800, and the red LED flashes when I connect the USB to the PC. However, the A800 does not seems to boot anything ATR or XEX when I try DIR, BOOT, MENU and so forth... It only writes "138 Device does not respond". I am no expert on SpartaDOX X, but it does seems odd to me. Any ideas?!?
  5. It sounds to me that you have the exact same problem that I do. I hope candle or someone else can fix the boards for us somehow...
  6. Most of the cartridges just show a 1 sec. glitch and a few show "not present!". My resistors were replaced with 1.5s.
  7. I did enable SpartaDOS X before flashing the bios...
  8. I soldered the two resistors last night, but cartridges are still not working, and when trying to run the latest bios update through SIDE, I can only get a brown screen. Any ideas of what I can do to fix these two things? The battery time is working, and I am able to run .xex games through SIDE.
  9. Thanks. I will try to solder the two resistors tonight then, and see if that will help.
  10. I have not changed the two resistors yet. Are they needed to get the cartridges to work?
  11. I downloaded it from candle on page 2 of this thread.
  12. I tried a lot of carts, all of them worked fine on the 800 before I installed the Incognito board, so it is not just some scrubbing that is needed.
  13. I just tried a few old ones, like Qix, Caverns of Mars and Frogger II, but the only thing that shows up at boot is the green SELF TEST screen. I am currently using the XL/XE setting, with stock config and stock OS, and SDX and SIDE turned off.
  14. Me and a friend installed the Incognito board last week, and so far most things seems to work as they should. However, I am not able to use real cartridges on my 800 after the Incognito install. After reading some of these posts, it looks like I need to use the bios-update.xex file that candle provided. However, I am having trouble flashing my 800 with file. I try to load the bios-update.xex file through SIDE, but after a few seconds of loading, to screen just turns brown, and nothing happens. What to do?
  15. Email send to email address for 1 black cartridge.
