Hi, Yes it is me. I left Atari (1990) to set up GFA in UK and USA and eventually took on responsibility for the German GFA company, working in Germany. The GFA parent company Integral Hydraulic then hit big financial problems and was unable to support GFA development- we had just completed GFA Basic for Windows, but needed more development- (Windows was a moving target). I then returned to the UK to establish Data Becker UK. (1994 - 2001). - where I discovered Arcon (3D Home Design). I then spent from 2001 - 2009 developing the Arcon software products via 3D Architect Ltd / Online Warehouse and eventually Eleco Plc. However I still think the Atari days (1982-1990) (both the Warner Atari and the Tramiel Atari) were the most exciting. Reading all this info re Atari and GFA brings back many memories- but it seems many here have better (and some times alternative) memories than me. I still do have my original Atari 400- purchased just before joining Atari. Peter Walker was an external marketing consultant- was not an employee of Atari. Glentop Press was the original UK distributor og GFA Basic. I have loads of my Atari colleagues in my LinkedIn connections- so if you want to bring back some more Atari names into your memory find me in LinkedIn. Happy to connect via LinkedIn with anyone that I met in the Atari/GFA days. All the best Les

Atari and Microsoft and the ST
Les Player replied to carmel_andrews's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
As far as I can remember, Atari was 100% committed to TOS/GEM in the belief that it was better than anything comming from Microsoft (at the time).
