Mine experienced stress failure. The white plastic inside them broke and Ill tried to fix em. Super-Glue worked for a while but I eventually gave up and brought Quik-Shot I joysticks. They were stronger but I when thur about 10 of those but they had a longer life and they were still my favourite joysticks.

Well im happy its planned for the future because we can find put some of those old Atari 2600's mystery games to rest. But other than that. Z26 is virtually plays and looks like the real thing!... Even the sound emulation is near pefect! Im gonna hook my PC to a real Television set and play Atari 2600 Games with Z26 and it would almost surely feel 100% like the real thing! Expect ill be using the keyboard.

Request for a new "Off Topic" Forum division

Sometimes it hard to decide where you should post your topic in.. Maybe just an extra forum called... PC HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE As this gets mixed up in the Off-Topic parts alot. -
When i first got a Atari 2600 it came with 2 joysticks and they looked like this: My 2 didnt last long. They broke in about 3 months. To me they were my worse joysticks. Were they the first compatible 1-fire button joysticks ?? Because they certainly when a long-way and obviously became stronger and stronger and more werid looking as time goes by... Some were rare and some were popular. Some had quickfire.. But Some were wireless... Some of us grew up with thoose joysticks from Atari 2600 to the Amiga 500. I when thur about 70 different joysticks. But basicly to me they all did the same and if you lose a Life. You can always blame the joystick. But these days I just use the Keyboard... It saves Money... [/img]

Is it possible to view the Numen demo on an Emulator?
Sharky replied to Sharky's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
im not quite sure if the ROMs come with the emulator. But what you will be looking for is the ATARIBAS.ROM, ATARIOSA.ROM, ATARIXL.ROM, and ATARIXL.ROM! Just search for them under Google and im sure you will come across them and set up your AtariWinPlus setting and im just everything will be fine. BTW. Is there a site out there that have Atari 400/800 Demos. Because Ive noticed with Numen is does an excellent job. -
I had totally forgotten Space Invaders had a 2 simulantous mode, no wonder what made this game so fantasic in the early 80s !

My Parents never understood Video Games unlike us who grew up with them. All i recall was my mother enjoying Othello that in those days it was a thrill just to beat the computer. But my Dad. And still today has never touched a Video Game in his whole life. He still today goes out and buy the latest DVD Players, Camcorders, Latest Movies, etc. But he seemed frightened to go near a Video Game. I think we our lucky we live in this Generation, and for my Dad, if only I could tell him the fun hes missing out on in his life.

I remember the switch Atari 2600 had a switch which was Color/BW. I rarely touched it because if I wanted to play Space Invaders in Black and White I would just use the Color control on the family Television set. Why was this switch so important? Although some games it didnt work with it and 1 game I rememeber was Ghost Manor that used it in a different way incase you wanted to control the boy instead of the girl. Did anyone ever really find this switch useful ?

Is it possible to view the Numen demo on an Emulator?
Sharky replied to Sharky's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
FANTASTIC! 10/10 Thanks for your help Jetbook Jack I got it going. And this impressered me so much. As Ill only known Atari 400/800 for its games and never seen an Atari 400/800 Self-Running demo before. Very impressive from beginning to end. I read in the credits they even used the help from Ken Silvermans Build Engine. I havent used Ken Silvermans Build Engine in years! -
Ive made up over 1000 Atari screenshots. Just tell me the Games screenshots you want and i can make sure you get 'em.

I had a C128 and also Ultima 5, but I didnt know it was compatible with 128 Mode. I play Ultima 5 to death in C64 Mode. And I didnt enjoy it as much as the others because it lacked Music. But i finally finished Ultima with the help of a Walkthur. Then all of a sudden i left the Program disk in the drive and switched on my 128 and OMG! Its bootable and it loaded quicker and WHOA!... Its got Music. What a pity I didnt know this earlier!

Sorry! Works again... I fixed it I put some silly command in my Gamebase Frontend. Thats y it wouldnt work. Now back to the Basic Again.. I go and find the right Video mode i want by an Z26.EXE -v(n)

Well after simply typing 1 command switch it didnt work so I deleted the CLI File and what do u know it still didnt work. WERID ! I cant use Atari 2600 Nostiginai anymore. It must of wrote to my system registry or something. On version 1.57 im continuou getting the error message - Halt So I deleted the entire Z26 Directory and installed version 2.04 And a new error comes up. JAM Instruction 32 @ 2869 No matter what I cant get Z26 to work anymore. This sucks!

Thanks ill now give this a try. I think it would Z26.EXE v6 As im gonna try Video Mode 6 I guess I can make a Batch file up to do job.

Time to upgrade again I guess. I noticed with 1 version (or the version I had before then), the colours were wrong in some games. But now there are OK. The only thing I would like to see added is a PAL Emulation or Scan-Lines or something just to make it looked like the way it looked on our older Color TV-SETS. My Monitor is so sharp and a Old Color TV was rather blurry which was good because it helped block out the graphic bugs in some games. Well Ill go upgrade my Z26 once again and see if theres any difference.

Its been my favourite Superman game too... I love it how you can change into Clark Kent Then change back to Superman then fly around and pick people up. Theres so many different for this. But then my friend swapped it for a not-so-good-game later on...

Missle Command? Wow! I thought Missle Command would of got harder and harder each time to Impossible.

Maybe that should of called this game Ultima 7 & a Half.

Believe it or not' date=' [b']Ultima: Runes of Virtue II for the SNES is actually a port of the Game Boy game of the same name. The "Runes of Virtue" titles on the Game Boy were massively scaled down versions of Ultima. I quite liked them, actually. The SNES port plays exaclty the same as its GB counterpart, but has the graphical look of the then current Ultima games (3/4 view, etc.). An odd title, but very, very easy for a seasoned Ultima player. Even the cover art kind of indicates that it was probably meant for the younger set. The light of mortal existance will die. Only the spiritual light may prevail within this room. Thanks for the Game Cover I can add it to my screenshot now. Ive hardly had time to play but I think the Introduction is quite Typical and funny. I had a quick wander around in it. And plays OK i guess. It reminds me Ultima 7 - The Black Gate. But I just cant get into Ultima 7 for some reason. Maybe the music is crap. I remember playing Ultima 8 - Pagan, it played terrible ! And it was very limited.

Did Chuck Norris have an ending ? I reached the castle a couple of times and then it just beat'em to the death until you die i recall At the Castle you couldnt seem to knock anyone else out as the computer-fighter just wouldnt give up.
