  1. Because while it has no wood, it DOES have a woodgrain look. I guess thats why then, Althought I wish it was REAL wood, maybe someday, something might replace Plastic, I wouldnt miss plastic.
  2. Hmm if the Atari 2600 console has no wood on it what-so-ever, wonder why some people perfer to it as "2600 4-switch woodgrain" like here http://atari.room34.com/systems.phtml No wonder why this all began to confuse me.
  3. I remember that fighting with 2 Phoenixs because of the Shapeshifter, It did drive ya nuts. But I didnt like the Banshee cause the only weapon is had but a protected shield or somewhat.
  4. The Shape-Shifter on the Dark sides, was actually my favourite character which the Light side couldnt have. I could get far with just that one.

    MAME.DK

You mean MAME.DK's downloads are finished ? I mean even registered users cannot download Roms anymore ? Damn! I should of been quicker. I should of known this would happen.
  6. There is a remake of Archon called Archon Ultra And heres a link review about it http://www.ibiblio.org/GameBytes/issue18/g...hon/archon.html
  7. I see the link is Archon: Evolution. Theres was also another Archon remake for DOS Once, it was Archon Ultra i think it was called. As good as the game was, well it was good and werid anyway. But I cant wall until we see Archon with FPS Battlefields. with eye-popping visuals, and ear-poping sound. Then its back to the chessboard... Now thats my dream Archon!
  8. Thats right! Its been so long since I last actually played. I used to charge straight at em But the good old - imprision your opponents last piece was a classic and nice crawl way to win.
  9. I believe there were 2 or 3 ways to win. 1. Kill all your opponments 2. Occupy all five magic squares and there might of been another one. I believe the classic game Archon would make a wonderful remake. With todays modern programming engines, Archon 3D perhaps!

    New MAME is out

I wonder why we arnt allowed to delete our own posts. Althought I don't double-post very often
  11. What demo(s) are the first 2 screenshots from? I wouldnt mind checking those out! The 3rd screenshot looks like its from the Numen Demo, by Taquart, am I right ?
  12. Actually I was impressed in the Amiga version of Cannon Fodder, at they Intro the whole song was sung. I remember the Amiga talking program, as whatever you type it would say, but it could say the sentences quite right.
  13. Just curious what Game and what home computer/console did you first hear speech! Or lets say the computer "talk" back then. I can recall as early as 1984 on the Atari 800 say Ghostbusters! in the game Ghostbusters. But I know I never heard speech in computer games before then. It blew me out of my mind! That they managed to make a computer say something and you could understand it. Its was all very impressive on 8bit systems (Atari 800, C64) with low memory.. Impossible Mission was the next game to blow my mind. But this gave you a glimpse of the future of gaming. Todays games seem like there more Speech than gameplay and of course the magic has now long gone.
  14. Jet Set Willy has impressive music, and its says it was made by Rob Hubbard. Wasnt he just a C64 music composer?
  15. Yes Journey Escape does have a nice Intro sequence, I used to plug in the cart and switch my Atari just to listen to the music and watch the space ship fly pass and pass again.

    New MAME is out

hmmm my theory is that you are using a web browser from the stone ages like IE and it isn't updating the web site properly? Trust me, it's been released. 2003-07-04: MAME 0.71 "Borg assimilates Zinc" released! Im using Opera browser and I go to http://www.mame.dk/emulators/ and theres no MAME .71
  18. Thats whats good about this forum, is that its very Sticky anf Annoucement- free and the important Annoucements simply go in the Announcements Sub-forum. Some forums im registered at, are abused with Stickys, with loads of out-of-date ones and some simple stickys as trying to force a member to be interested in this thread. Due to this you have to scroll down the page with the mouse just to read the new threads and posts, which is rather untidy and annoying. Competition threads make the ideal for stickys as long as its popular BEFORE it becomes a sticky.

    New MAME is out

No.. MAME is still on .70
  20. My greatest entertainment of the Vic-20 was just typing out programs from books. There wasnt really any illegal privacy software around at the time (well, for the Vic20), so whatever game you wanted you had to pay for. But it was great how you could just borrow a Programs book from the library with about 40 games to type out, save em to tape and you got some free games.
  21. I tried making a file like Blank.adf but neither emulator accepted it. And finding a normal disk image and deleting the files off it, obviously another way to get a fresh blank disk image. But im gonna have to find the right Program that will examine Amiga disks so i can delete them. As soon as Ive made 1 blank disk image, I wont have to do this again.
  22. Actually it was Legend of Kyrandia - book 1 I was after, not Hand of Fate. Im playing one were his grandfather gets turned into stone and you must defeat Malcom to save him or something. Anyway, Im using the Amiga version (In an emulator), and I when to SAVE game. Its saved to disk 9. Althought I re-test it and it worked. But question is, is that right, or are you suppose to use a blank disk image stead?
  23. I have a lot of my favourite Adventures, and im wonder what ulititie I should be using to create blank Amiga disks on emulators (WinFellow, WinUAE, etc). So I can save where i left of.. business. (Monkey Island, Kings Quest, Legend of Kyrandia, etc) I believe there are serveral types of Formats the Amiga uses, err some older some newer? Question which is a nice fast way of formatting a Amiga disk.. I was thinking about Workbench 1.3 was the only way, but im sure there are other ways ?
  24. There was a great Vic-20 Site from Funet or W/E, this site had almost all the downloads, Covers Manuels, etc. But some copyright cyber-police or w/e got to them and they were forced to close their site down. I mean gee. Copyright or not, surely the old companys of Vic-20 Games cannot profit over there 4k, 8k, 16k games anymore. From there on ive found little interesting sites decidecated to Vic-20. But at least ive got most of thier games. But personality I always see Vic-20 Games rather blocky and unplayable. Theres a few ok ones, like the Scott Adams Adventures, and Juptier Lander is okay... but the rest doesnt so much appeal to me anymore.
  25. Gosh, I remember those days are over in searching Google for a particular ROM, putting up with the endless pop-ups and pop-unders, having to vote to proceed onwards, then registering, and checking emails to activate, then to find yourself with complete disappointment, so back to square one again. What a complete headache!
