  1. They’re not über-rare around here. But lately retrocollecting is getting pretty expensive. There’s quite a few TK95 for sale at online auctions right now for about 600-800 Brazilian Reais, around 150-250 USD. If you really want one I’ll be glad to help you out at no cost. :-)
  2. Theres a nice ZX81 scene in Brazil too! Unfortunately im not in it. But we had a few ZX80/ZX81 clones around, including a very well built called TK85 that apparently is amazing for hacking. Some friends are really passionate about the platform. They even claim that one of the best ZX81 games ever made is Brazilian: Em Busca dos Tesouros (In the search for treasures), a really impressive Pitfall clone.
  3. Great read, amazing find. Thank you for that!
  4. Kiljoy, FYI I found a pretty decent Channel F Videocart box protector. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/262083-found-a-near-perfect-channel-f-box-protector/?hl=%2Bvideocart+%2Bbox+%2Bprotector&do=findComment&comment=3692997
  5. Of course! Sorry about that. BRAZIL: - Boxed Philips Odyssey console - Complete cart collection: 60 games, all with box, manual, cart, warranty. 50 or so of those have also the matching cardboard tag. 50 or so have correct model number in the box. About 45 of those are 100% complete (CIB + tag + model number) All strategic series are 100% complete. USA: - Boxed Odysssey 2 - Loose "The Voice" - About 20 titles. They're in storage right now, don't know wich ones I have. I'll have to pick them up and sort this mess. I do have the 3 Strategic 100% complete IIRC EUROPE: - About 15 titles, same as above. No Strategic Series or special carts. HOMEBREW: - About 20 titles. All in storage.
  6. So... Let's team up and crush the other guys! Of course I'm fooling around. But it really seems like a pre-production sample - Like RCA Studio II's "Bingo". Don't know. Hard to say for sure, obviously. So that's your "gut feeling" too?
  7. LOL You do realize that I agree with you on this, righ? I mean, I'm arguiing that this game probably wasn't available for the general public, hence should not be considered on a "full set".
  8. I'd love to hear your toughts on this, Tempest.
  9. Sorry about the Necro-bump, I´m writing an article about the rarest A2600 games around and stumbled upon this. Something caugh my attention: In the game box it says "For use with the SEAR video arcade" (no "S"). That seems like a very weird and primitive mistake for a commercial product, don´t you think? Maybe that´s a prototype / production sample of some sort? Thank you all and sorry again for the necrobump.
  10. FINALLY completed my Brazilian set (minus the Ectron cart. All official releases), all CIB. Will work my way on the USA set now. Wish me luck?
  11. Don't be. Except if you are the one that won this. Seriously: Thank you, man.
  12. This in insane. I'll wait for the next one.
  13. I do, actually. I´ve been using a proxy shipment service for quite some time now. I do have a domestic USA address. Seller ships the items to my domestic address and then the company ships it back to me for a fee. Believe it or not it´s cheaper than asking the seller to send directy. Most sellers today choose not to ship to Brazil or only send using the most umbelivable expensive method available so it´s been great.
  14. Yeah, it seems to have spiked quite a bit. Let´s see how it goes.
  15. I don´t know how many of you are familiar with the V9990. That´s a graphic chip that was supposed to power the (never finished) MSX3 line of computers. Chip took too long to be ready so MSX3 never came true. Anyway, some 10 years ago MSX hardware hackers from Holland (Sunrise) developed a video board for MSX computers that used the (finally released) chip. And it´s just amazing - true 16-bits graphics on a MSX. Since it´s open source a lot of small companies sold batches of V9990. One of them became quite famous in the MSX scene worldwide - Tecnobytes. So. Technobytes managed to do an amazing thing: They converted that graphics cart for the Amstrad CPC. Just take a look at this video. Jaw dropping beauty! http://www.tecnobytes.com.br/p/v9990-powergraph_10.html Go ahead and preorder if you are a CPC fan. This migh sold out pretty fast.
  16. Yes! Apparently there´s a lot of options out there. Wikipedia also showed this LM318 as example, I guess it´ll work. Thank you!
  17. The guys at the APF mailing list pointed me to this: It seems nice and my friend got all pumped up. But he saids he don´t know what the "U1" is.
  18. Thank you for your answer Kevtris! Just to be sure, you used the one called "6847 Composite Video Schematic", right?
  19. I´ve noticed that I have two slighty different standard protectors, one of them is a little thicker by one or two millimeters. The thinner one won´t fit an Arcadia 2001 game; the thicker, does. Unfortunatey I don´t remember were I got the slighty thicker one. Probably was the first batch I got on eBay many years ago. Oh dear.
  20. Allow me to say it upfront: I know NOTHING about electronics. Zero. I´m trying to find some info so a friend of mine who´s a very competent technician might do the trick for me. So forgive me if I say something stupid. Since APF and CoCo use the same video chip (Motorola MC6847), is it possible that a CoCo mod might work on the APF? MP-1000 schematics shows that CoCo and APF also share its video modulator: https://console5.com/wiki/APF_MP1000 There´s a few CoCo mods out there, including one (apparently) using the video modulator quoted above: http://sparksandflames.com/g35.html
  21. I know it´s highly unlikely but let´s give it a try. Does anybody know if that´s possible? Couldn´t find it on Google. Thank you in advance!
  22. IIRC Alley Cat too. And also Test Drive? Memory is foggy on this one.
  23. I´m not in USA so it might be easier for you guys to figure this out: Were was the prototype found? It seems plausible that since it was accidentally found "in the wild" it haven´t travelled around a lot. So maybe check wich was the closest design center to its finding location?
