  1. In my time ive seen 2 carts (still at the thrift shop) forsale 1.00 ea

one is aSega cart with no label on it ( i cant even unscrew it since it is odd shaped. ).

teh second cart is an 2600 cart with 7800 label. The chip is a 2600. so im thinking its a cover up of a common game. probably not worth the 1.00

  2. SV would be SunnyVale

thats a Sears arcade 2. which is the equivelent of Atari2800 in the states.

for as a Prototype i highly doubt it. it is a low number unit yes i would date the system 38th week of 1982. not a proto 2600 by a long shot on that.

  3. i was using cart commander but was disapointed with teh 8 bit section ( none). i did a Spread sheet (97 pages worth) but im not happy iwht it anyone want to get it i dont know why i did it (and printed it) i wanted a database on the road but it takes to long to do and fill it out and new carts added.

  4. Im on Internet Exploror right now.(same one i was on in the past.) at a 56k connection. its not the time out on the browser its more like loads abotu 45 to 50% then stops and says loaded with errors and my message never makes it up. as for the passwords. ive always typed it in lowercase and worked and when i found out that didnt work anymore i started to panic. i think after i figure out how to get all my posts posted here things will be better here for me. i just dont see hwo it worked on the old program andnow on this not all want to post i wonder why

  5. i thought they did it to Adrian M for a period of time.

any way back to the 7800's i wonder if 2484 is the eariest production 7800 made. ( not like 3600 wise) hey Curt do you think you can find out from your friend when the frist 1984 board were made ???

  6. This is why i give them the benifit of the doubt im sure they were working on things getting things all set up and betteer. i just wanted to bring it to their attention some of the problems ive been having. ill look into the profile to shut the Emails off they are MAD annoying. the Al's are good people and thigns will get better :)

  7. Hey Alex Albert i need to talk to you about your new forums here. Im none too happy bout it right now. its hard for me to post since about 50% of the time it loads half way then says done with errors. and if its more than 1 paragraph answer it wont send. ( i hope this one goes). the other 2 problems ive seen, with me at least is the pass word i learn i have to type in with Caps in the old format it didnt matter caps or lower case letters. the last thing is i started a post about 7800's and now i get like 5 or 6 emails aday saying that someone answered the post ( is there something i cna do to not get these Emails. i check your site 20 to 30 times aday ( im here 15hrs a day. ) im sure i liked the old way better when it comes to the board and posting. right now thigns seem to slow and half the time not working when i post. im sure this is probably just my computer or something not agreeing with the program your using for AA. or maybe your learning the program to solve some of these problems . i look forward to hear your responces. im sure your doing everything you can right now with it and since its so new that your also adjusting to it so if you find a way around this please let me know thanks

  8. it seeks to amaze me how many people you guys know what were involved in atari. now its like impossibel to be on talking terms with anyone who makes video games (playstation or xbox). i hope he remembers how many was made. still does anyone know what AT in the Serial number stands for?

  9. If they made them as EP # then if there was x amount of the 84 atari 7800s under AT # before they went to the really high numbers taht were A1 #?

would the 84 EP's and the 84 AT(parts) would be considered in the 5000 perhaps or would they say tehres more than 5000?

  10. I think its quite possible to find out the Pattern for the 7800 1984 models. Curt i could ue your help for this there is 5000 total i am aware of. Curt is this right. THey were made from July84-Sept84. then haulted. if this is correct i can proceed.

Crossbow: i have a problem with what you Belive as the first 7800s done in July. the 25th week of 1984 is from June 17th -June 23rd. July didnt start till the 27th week. Could you list me your Serial Number ( i know itprobably wont go with it but id be interested in it anyway.)

CURT: what do you know about the 7800s you have from 84 ( including the Clear unit). if i can start getting people to send me in the Serial Number of the 1984 atari 7800s and the date on the board i might be able to look them over and start some type of theory i can test.

VISO : you say your system is dated 2484 on the board and teh SN is 72R4BR AT8460662. The 72R4BR is standard so and since the one im getting is AT8402971. 57,691 lower of a number. if my board reads a 2484 or lower i could conclude that lower numbers indicate earlier units ( so i can see that they didnt jump too random. )

im thinking 1 of 2 things.

1.) atari started the numbering process at AT 8400000. and 2.) Atari started the Numbering process at AT8000000.

also the run dates im thinking is possible is from June 10th (24th week) till either Sept 1(35th week) or sept 29 or 30th(39th or 40th week)

so, so far i have the following known

    SERIAL NUMBER Board Date

    1.) AT8402971 ????

    2.) AT8460662 2484

please let me knwo who else got one.

any other info curt, crossbow i need let me know

also please email me at [email protected] any early 7800s you have

  12. Hmm did that ever come in a Atari 7800 case? probably not if it says 3600 on it. Curt for you i dont think ill be encluding it with the 7800s like the 2484 and 2584s. i think on the page ill make a special section to list all the 3600's as prototypes. list yours then the 7800s. since its technically a 3600 , hmm did have a serial number in a 7800 or is it the board only like on the site?

  13. Hey Crossbow. heres something im not sure you added. i got a 1987 7800 ( soon to sell ) where it has the external port on cut away so you can use it . you were talking about how the 1988's like you have cover this up. What would the understanding be Since this is a REV A i think . yet dated in xx87 (dont remember teh week)

  15. hmm i figured it would be a wwyy thing . i have a 87 now that has the side port for the keyboard add on.

how does the serial number look?? how does the numbering on it go for as the atari 7800 early games

where can i get a manual and the catalog for the early 7800??

  16. How does one tell when they have a 1984 system is there something on the board ? also how do i know which one of the first 5000 do i have ( i heard it was 5000 made )

  17. i got one that reads G 16K 391 8777

and theres a silver engraving of ATARI / 391 (39th week of 1981?????)

also it has a speical red label that says 16K RAM is this odd?

also theres a stipe label UNDER the regular atari label that reads

    G 175 AC026049-16 9/25 L40 P

i would say this is a after market inventory list for an atari store but its under the regular label

    any ideas?
