only reason why i say 12000+ i say for ALL ATARI CARTS 2600,5200,7800,8bit,jaguar,lynx with ALL different label varations and also Copywrite varartions. i have like 4 different ms pacman carts cause of label varations. this is what i was basing 12000+ carts. and on 8 bit carts you have brown and grey cases for games and with brown cases you have both brown and silver labels so there maybe that many correctme if its wrong

the best feture about the 8 bits were that you can run them on a TV you cant do that wihta TV cause the line signals are different you need a 14,000 $ item to fix it (yea 14,000) in that respect atari and commodore were ahead of there timeeven to today)

if thats true then i see trammel as looking down teh road cause computers were the next wave. and well the 7800 later release was an error. that cost atari but it was right after the crash noone knew what was going to happen. think if htey sold the XEGS as a computer( waht trammel most likely wanted to do) maybe atari woudl be here today as a computer leader .

Ok im gonna kick myself for asking this . But why does everyone blame Tramel for teh demise of atari. granted there was some mistakes but wasnt atari loosing money since like 1982. was that before tramels take over?

I doubt there is anyway of really knowing that but for as games i cna say theres probably 12000+ different atari carts out there with label varations titles, formats and case styles. and thats if you had 1 of each . so id say millions and millions of carts i dont think there is anyway of really knowing unless you can get into the atari files, ( sounds like a good name for a game) but now new home brew( if you count those to youll never know. the true amount. if you ever hear teh amount of different carts by fill me in i can update my list.

do you think theres a 800series demo or 1200xl demo cart?

id say basic math is the hardest cause even though star ship is hard to find its more popular than basic math

I know the 2600 had 9 original releases dating from 1977. how many carts were released for the 400 unit in the first year in 1979 i so far located 3 carts, how many total are therre?

there are only 2 8 bit demos teh CXL-4019 Brown label and silver label ( i dont see the difference in them ) and theres an XE Demo cart which i havent seen yet. you have the XE one temp?

i dont think its a rarity that high the cart is a 3 on the rarity list. still its a nice find. i still need an official 02 cart

Why all 3? the 5200 was mainly a game system with better graphics that was its claim to fame . Any one who wanted the best garphics out there went for thsi system. the 7800 well im not quite sure why they released this system at the time they pre released it in 1984 (5000 units) why they held up i dont know. it wasadvanced for 1984. but it was advanced compare to teh 2600 and was to go againist NES/Famicom units. XEGS ok heres the info about this unit This was just a bad advertising mistake tehy released it as videogame system but it was a very good computer ahead of its time even now . ( with the garphics it had that can be run off the TV it was a great unit)if they went with the computer part of the advertising instead of the games it might of made it. but thats the purposed of the xegs in the begining for a computer/gaming system. It was a mistake within atari with this i think this was the final fatal mistake in atari correct me if you disagree

atari had many odd errors during 1986 when they re-release games they had wierd labels. and mis guided instructions on the cart. take the game Pele's Soccer in teh 1981 said Game Program but in 1988 release said Atari Game Program Instructions ( and anyone can see its a game cart and not a manual for the game .) just bunch of mistakes during the rerelease

Why does my Panda game Dice Puzzle which is clearly labled PANDA INC start up saying made by Sancho and the other game harbor escape starts up made by Panda?

it seems to work like the atari 2600 regular release of the game. hmm any suggestions people to write to about this i went to DP for this also now hmm alex any ideas how i can tell if its a pirate or not by the outside?

Ok i took the liberty into email the guy wiht the brazlian listing cart list. The one with teh HERO under atari ( i think someone told me about it . ) well ill let them send back on it but im sure it isnt brazin no language or anythign to identify thta. if it turns out not to be USA i think it might be Canadian. or like some say the worst text format atari ever has done.

As to where i got it was from one of our very own atariage.com members. Atarian75 which is just as much apart of this discovery as i was. and i think a special thankyou is in order to him for selling it to me with many other label varations. He said that he got it from another collector in the Detroit area ( correct me if i was wrong on that ). He tried to locate that person for me with no such luck ok to answer some questions and comments , Ill start with Twit. Can it be a polyvox title? - i dont know if it is since there is no label of it on the cart and the style of silver labels are totally different. I guess it could be a legit Atari release, but that's unsubstantiated at best. And dont you forget on top of the Breakout in all orange i have dont know if anyone else has seen the rarer looking Blue label Defender cart. i am not sure weather or not this was a 86 release too. I feel that if some of our PAL experts can come foward they can flood me with questions that i can help use to unravel the mystery . Now to Tempest's earlier question Is there a way to internally see the chip and read it? - well its possible to unscrew the front ( like on all atari inc carts ) but the label is still good on the cart and no signs of peeling (which may make life easier). Unless theres a safe way to get the label on we can always wait 15 20 years for the next reglueing to open the cart up . but by then i think we all will loose interest in this hehe. but seriously any PAL people who know about PAL carts and people with ways to get a label off without damaging it please come foward. I got something looking closer at the label something to show you all. ( and this was somewhat seen by Liquid sky. he had me look at teh hangman name but look at the top right corner in red ATARI 2600 with no ® or TM and then on the black letters on teh left side says ATARI® 2600VCS TM whats that about only other cart i own like that in anyway differnt from the normal carts is one of my Phienox carts with the RED ® and RED tm . ok who else can say something any questions thoguths to help in the investigation of this cart
