  1. look into my eyes, You feel a strange compulsion to buy from the AA store
  2. As in for washing/cleaning stuff, didn't want you all thinking I've low personal hygene LOL...
  3. The only time I use the sink lol. But I do find it's the best method, get's rid of all the scum and the only sure fire way of getting all that stuff that builds up in the seams of the plastic, wonder if I should try the dishwasher next time, set on a low temp?
  4. True, but it would have put everyone on a level playing field, I think it would have been cheaper to produce, just have one TIA for all regions, and just let the external components handle all the output conditions. But it's easy to say that now, btw your stuff rocks
  5. That would be so cool, having all the spoofs in one place, I can feel a photoshop session coming on later
  6. BWAHAHAHAHA Sars' Revenge, love it...
  7. For the systems, I physically strip down the machines, clean out all the crap that builds up inside them, then I take all the exterior casing and go over to the kitchen sink. In the sink I usually mix a little washing up liquid with some form of mild detergent in some warm water and let the parts soak for 10 mins, then with a soft sponge and a toothbrush I get the exteriors clean. I've had pretty good results everytime, but I'm fussy when it comes to machines looking mint, it's worthwhile taking a little time and being gentle. As for the carts I usually use one of my kids old toothbrushes, the really tiny ones, at an angle you can get the contacts really clean, I always make sure to get all the crusty stuff out of them before I finish up, no point cleaning carts only to leave all that residue inside...
  8. When all is said and done, it's what YOU like that matters. Nintendo got the brush off from Atari and took advantage of the situation, just a shame that Jack was at the helm, his idea of making everything cheap only did wonders for Nintendo's sales, afterall he was using Atari to try and get back at Commodore. Bet the guy didn't give a rats ass about games...
  9. I love that label Red, almost wants to make me say "I'm affraid Dave" lol...
  10. Only the newer TV's seem to be able to handle NTSC/PAL, I mean it's useful but there's something about just being able to slot in a game and play it from the start without getting the TV to cooperate. Even though these TV's now let you play NTSC stuff through them, sometimes the colour palletes are not right, but I think that's more of a consequence of using a PAL machine with NTSC carts. In an ideal world Atari would have produced games to a generic single standard and the machines could have determind wether or not the game got rendered in either format, this would have also been easier on the programmers. Then you wouldn't have to worry where the carts came from, it would just come down to playing some great games without any hassle from the equipment...
  11. Drool I think it's time to max out on the card soon...
  12. Just out of curiousity, how many of the games available through the AA store are available in PAL format?
  13. Goo Gone sounds good stuff, unfortunately I don't think/I've never seen it on sale here in the UK...
  14. Paint thinners (mild solution), turps or white spirit are good for getting rid of that nasty goo, unfortunately I've tried nail polish remover and it just turns dark plastics a yucky gray color. Just one side effect of using the above, is that some products leave a smell on the plastic for quite some time, unfortunately I live in a country that doesn't sell any really good products for this type of job...

    PAL or not

I'm at the stage now, where I am seriously considering buying a proper NTSC machine either a 7800 or a 2600. All the TV's on sale in the UK are compatible, so I might as well take advantage of the technology, at least I won't have to mess around trying to get things to work. Then I can stop worrying about the carts I buy being NTSC or PAL, PAL is a downer, I might just move the the US instead (j/k) lol...
  16. Tom Baker rocks he's mad you know...
  17. I love this game I think I'm definitely going to have to order this from the AA store...
  18. To be honest I've never been a big fan of anything by Nintendo, even though I've owned most of the systems they've produced. I'm biased towards Atari, I grew up with Atari and I'm still playing Atari stuff after 21/22 years...
  19. I play my Atari's on a Philips 36" flat widescreen TV, looks great, but I use it because it's NTSC compliant, great for playing all those NTSC carts I end up with from eBay...
  20. Just one more before I get carried away
  21. I liked the A-Team one earlier nice...
  22. Hi I'm Trev, I'm an Atari addict too, my doctor recomended another console, but I soon went back to the Atari, why give up on something you love only to regret it later...
  23. Any UK users up for a bit of selling/trading?
  24. I get like that all the time, I've just been browsing on eBay and I get like a kid in a candy store, then the feeling goes away, sometimes I feel disgusted how much I spend a month on Atari stuff.
