  1. Good, I hope they are PAL, btw Cool Sid Avatar...Howay!
  2. I hope there all not NTSC games, I bought a load of games off eBay that where still in the shrinkwrap and they where all NTSC, no good for uk PAL, unless your TV/Video can convert NTSC to PAL...
  3. Cool next time you need to do it, it'll be a breeze...
  4. I'm in the UK, and I'd love to get my hands on one/several of these systems (PAL version) if they are made, but I wonder if will be a NTSC only unit destined for the US?
  5. Just one question, is your client only intending to release in the US?
  6. Here's my method, it may be a bit rough arsed but it works: After removing stickers and the screw, hold the cart down on it's side with the open end facing you. Then grip the cart and with your right thumb central on the cart, press down on the right hand side of the cart, your left thumb should just be inside the open end left hand part of the cart, then as you press down with your right thumb, pull upwards and leftwards with your left thumb, this should hopefully have unlocked the cart clips. Hope you can follow my weird instructions, if you need any clarification PM me.

    SVHS conector

This looks very interesting, shame I don't understand German, I'll run it through altavista later, thanks for the link WIZ
  8. Some good points there MegaManFan, it would be nice to see this unit and how it affects prices on eBay...
  9. WOW! I must start trawling the Catalogue shops, I want one just for the crack of owning one and for £26 you can't really grumble, it's cheaper than a round in the pub...
  10. This is a great idea, I hope it all goes through and eventually gets marketted here in the UK, couple of suggestions: Internal PSU, just to add a bit of weight to it. SCART output with composite video, nice audio and A/V switching. Better joystick plugs, hopefully it will have retro joysticks. A trendy new design, something sleek, black and sexy. I could go on, just got to stop drooling at the idea
  11. Hmm this whole NTSC PAL debate is a sticky one, but from what I know about video, when you take the video down to it's source it's just pure video, NTSC and PAL have different line/scan rates, we have more information in PAL and NTSC is about a hundred lines less, and it all gets mixed differently according to which country you're in. So NTSC on a UK telly will roll like an epileptic on speed and will be in black and white, but the Philips widescreen I have can decode PAL/NTSC/SECAM it seems quite happy to decode everything and anything, I remember when Tekken 3 came out (Japanese Import) on the PS1, and it was NTSC-J, so it was a case of finding an old telly with the vertical hold knob on the back and fidling with it till things worked, but it would still be in black and white. As for naming names I really wouldn't like to do that, because we're are a small community and I don't need any bad karma coming my way, all I can say is that most of the BOXED as new games I have bought have been nearly all NTSC copies, all I will say is that the particular dealers are in Lancashire.
  12. 90% of UK VCR's are though, they all seem to be cross platform now, I play my Atari through that and I have no trouble, and my main TV plays them ok too. Alternatively if you mod your machine you can run it through your scart or S-VHS socket, providing your TV has them.
  13. Just watch out if you use ebay.co.uk a lot of the boxed as new games for the 2600 are in fact NTSC games, I've fallen foul of this and so have a few friends, I'm not naming nams, but just becareful. If you have a modern Telly/Video then more than likely it will be NTSC/PAL compliant...
  14. New Orleans? sounds more like Clowne on a Friday night, the beer flows like tap water and so do the women...

    Cartridge storage?

I use radio cart storage racks, there's not a deal of difference in size, but sadly they are only available to the trade, I thought about reselling them, but they cost too much to buy, luckily I managed to get hold of a load of them when stations went on to PC playout systems...
  16. Hi XY-Man, thanks for the PM, I'll be in touch soon...
  17. I wanted carts and placed an ad in the local free ads paper, I don't know if you have something similar in the US? but it worked for me, I ended up with more carts than I needed and it didn't cost me a lot of cash.
  18. OK so it did help being sober, got it open in 2 seconds flat he he he.
  19. Just started to take apart an old dead cart just to have a good nosey at the cart, problem is I've got the screw out, now how do I open it without breaking it? the thing is latched on like a face hugger... This is probably not a wise thing to do after 10 pints of Guinness
