  1. I'm surprised nothing like Star Raiders or Phaser Patrol never was done for the CV. The Inty got Space Spartans, and the 2600 got Star Master, Star Voyager and... I guess some would call it Star Raiders... The 5200 showed how the controller could work.

  3. Yes, yes, a thousand times yes. Archon is one of the original classic EA games. I'd LOVE for someone to bring MULE over too. And Star Raiders... But that's another post entirely.
  4. How about an update of "Crush, Crumble & Chomp"?
  5. I totally agree on the original EA games (MULE, Archon, Seven Cites of Gold) but have to throw Star Raiders into the mix. The CV keypad could finally get good use in a game. Blockade Runner (shudder) shows us that it is technically possible...
  6. It's in an ancient High School Video Production Department that is about to be retired. Right place at the right time.
  7. I have a line on a couple of BVM Monitors that I can get or cheap.
  8. Best. Thread Topic. EVER.
  9. This site: http://retrorgb.com/ solves a LOT of my questions! Thanks all!
  10. It's my understanding the Genesis is doing native RGB output then? What mystery cable is needed for RGB output in the US?
  11. Is MUSHA super rare? I'm seeing some pretty extreme eBay prices for it...
  12. Clues for the clueless please? I see a lot of raves about using SCART output on the Genesis for the best picture quality, but is that pretty much a European only solution? I don't think I've ever seen a TV in the US with a SCART port. Beyond modifying the motherboard, is there a clean, easy way to get RGB output from a Genesis to run on something in the US? What type of Monitors should I be on the prowl for to upgrade to to get the BEST image quality out of my Genesis (Mod2) SCD, 32X combo?
  13. Are there latency issues to think about at such slow baud rates? Or because of the slow baud rates, do you not have to worry about latency? I know zip about this, but at 300 baud, how long of a pause can you get in a ping and not disconnect?
  14. Using a standard collector is rough on Star Wars. A SAC isn't too bad though (if you like SAC's that is).
  15. I posted on the Collectorvision facebook page, but what are peoples thoughts if the boxart was available as a digital download for folks who like UGC's? I would prefer a real box, and I got a great DK & Turbo from Phattyboombatty awhile back. This would help out the artists, and let folks also keep some cohesion in their collection.
  16. Colecovision Genesis/Sega CD/32X Atari Lynx PS1 PS2 (Fat) I still kick myself for letting my VCS go...
  17. I wonder what was up with Mattel licensing properties for the Inty? The deal for "Battlestar Galactica" fell through too, and "Space Battle" got the catchy name it has. Yet they got "Tron"...
  18. Back in the true 8-bit console days, I was transitioning to computers (Atari 800!) and missed out on that gen of systems. I have an NES now, but don't ever recall seeing a SMS in the wild or anyone actually owning one in the late 80's, pre-16 bit days. As an Atari fan, I was aware of the 7800, but never bit. So folks, what are the impressions of these systems tag-teaming it? Over at Classicgameroom.com Mark just did a system review on the SMS, and I'm intrigued by it. The 7800 was supposed to be real competition for the NES, but technically, was it really? How does a SMS stand up to a NES?
  19. OK, I also gave it another whirl after this thread came alive. And it is pretty good for a version of the "classic" Star Trek game. I'm playing it on the "Atari Anthology" on PS2, which does include a scan of the manual. One stupid bit on the emulation though, when I lose a mission, it is bumping me back to the menu so fast I can't read the screen. Grrrr... Had fun with it today though.
  20. Facebook and social media are dismantling forums. Twitter and other social media are dismantling Facebook. In 5 years the cycle will be complete and we will be back to print magazines.
  21. This one is a tough nut to crack. For me, the downfall is the flicker of the text. It's hard to keep engaged with the title for a long period of time due to the amount of flicker.
  22. Just scored a copy of "Alien Storm" this weekend for $3. It's like "Golden Axe" but with Aliens and Flamethrowers.
  23. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, REACTOR. A home system with a trackball DESERVES this game. It's a shame Parker Brothers never did a port for the CV.
