  1. In summary miner Vol II in in fact not a R8 if the same site puts Pirate Fishing at R8.
  2. Also No Frills100 your one of the contributors of AtariBoxed.com and I put it to you that a loose PAL Miner Vol II is not a R8. The last one lose sold for 17 Euros in Germany although they are less common in Australia. It's not Espial which pop up once a year, which has been given the same loose rarity on your site as miner II (which is incorrect) I don't think a single collector will contest that. There is no way Espial and Miner II are or par but guides are exactly that a guide from many angles and contributors. So using your own guide to rate a game i'm trying to trade against is not helpful. I agree a I loose Bomb is R5 but CIB could be R7 (depends on condition) A boxed Rare game is hard to apply a fixed rate to so you should add variables on boxes like (R6-7) CIB not R6 CIB as a generic boxed rarity which is why the boxed BOMBS can sell for 4 times the loose carts) and are seldom found as complete as my example with tray, Instructions, warranty and mint cart. I've been publishing my own PAL guide for 6 years and it's based also on vast personal knowledge that your site probably has too but you'll have to bump miner II down to R7 (in my view) seeing as you brought up rarity (not me) *Especially if your promoting your site and demoting my trade. Your a V-shape collector and all your Ozzy V shapes/Action Hi-Tech games have been marked up very generously (some to R8 loose (on generic "pirate cave" label Fishing!) so as someone that can find V shapes very easily, I would say thats not a R8 (9CIB) by any stretch of the imagination. Some V shapes are quirky and rare granted (i've sold enough of them) but R9 pirate Fishing! nope.
  3. Also I said Tigervision "games" (plural) so that could be any Tigervision game but named a top few I was particular After, A PAL Marauder I would be happy with in 7/10 condition ; ) and someone might be happy with that if people don't poop on other peoples threads.
  4. There are tons or rarity guides, and I never said it wasn't rarer! It depends on condition as I said (twice now) I never mentioned condition so if someone has a 6/10 CIB Miner II with a faded label are you saying a CIB BOMB! trade with a MINT cart is derisory? if you have not got any trade offers then It's not useful to comment on posts when no one is debating rarity. People put up trades all the time, V-shapes are not rare as such but CIB people were chucking R7s at me so leave it to the people that have offers please.
  5. Hi, I picked up 3 Activision PAL Proto Label games (all working with typed top labels! which is nice) Pitfall II, Pressure Cooker and Robot Tank. Two have the same front label one has the Activision logo on it twice (Pitfall II) which I think is the gem of these Three. Some provenience is that the original owners friend used to work at Activision UK in Slough, Berkshire (Activision Europe Headquarters), were I found them. He was given them in the late 80s with tons of Activision games (so adds up) Plus I know my labels. So these games have only been in the hands of Activation staff members and surfaced from his friends cupboard recently. So none of these have ever been sold at auction or traded. . I didn't quiz the owner on the original owners staff name but works as a programmer today but in Java Script or whatever people use these days. I didn't really want to put too much attention on these, he just called them demos and said they might not work as one or two initially had a black screen when he loaded , so he almost didn't want to take my money but I after cleaning they are now all working (so I took a risk on these). oh and I didn't pay him peanuts for them; unless you call £90 ($150 derisory on untested/assume dead games in a lot). I didn't poach them on eBay the seller ended the auction because the consoles and some of the games were non working so was of course he was surprised when I offered £90 afterwards but I’m fair and not greedy, I'm a collector and Atari fan first! trader second. I have a few collectors names that deal in Protos in Europe so these will be up for trade elsewhere. (If I have no luck on here). I would be looking to trade on rare CIB games to collectors (not traders), a PAL CIB Espial would be nice (god that game is hard to find boxed - please revise rarity AA ; ), lab loaners and anything R7+ CIB or loose rare games and I’m willing to split this lot as I would say these have varied values, Pitfall II being the gem for me although the label is slightly faded on that one, the other Two have excellent labels. I'm not a Proto expert but I’ve collected for many years (historically in the thousands) but have slimmed my collection and I’m moving on to other things non Atari so I don't really need these on my shelf but was great to bring them back to life and to hold them (if only for a while). I'd rather these went to a collector that is as happy as I was to find them. I have a figure in my head on trade value and would prefer Private emails to [email protected] unless your just adding info or being helpful. I've sadly noticed Trolls on Atari Age threads (come on guys really?) must of us are knocking on 40. Well I say "Trolls" but people making unhelpful and contrived comments to poach games or to put down other peoples trade offers. I just put up a trade on a BOMB! CIB "Great Escape" and although its not the ultra rare NTSC version (its rare to find complete even in PAL land) - the first response I got was "your no way going to get a CIB miner II" (that's for the person that might have a Spare Miner II and not have a CIB BOMB with mint cart. I consider that unhelpful advise. Not even a Hello! just "your not going to get what your asking!" I didn't even mention condition as I have not with regards to trades on these. It's up to the people offering trades to decide what they are willing to offer not the people that have nothing helpful to contribute. It's not like CIB BOMB (albeit PAL) is Space Invaders so trample on someone else's thread. Although these are Third-Party Protos, Activision pretty much showed Atari up on many games so it's nice to be holding a Pitfall II Proto which was programming a feat thanks to David Cranes Patented DPC (Display Processor Chip) Which I think was the only game that ever used that specific Indexing chip (not extra RAM or ROM carts; for which there are many) (I'll have to get better at Pitfall II to find out if it's the full version so will have the theme no doubt imbedded in my head for the next few days. I'll try not to have a nervous breakdown (or I could turn the volume down) solved! I'm welcoming helpful advice, trades, ROM identification (not sure these are EPROMS) they feel the same weight as standard carts and it's hard to see the ROM differences without opening them up, which I’m not keen to do but I know some of you might be able to identify the ROM without opening. All the games worked although Pitfall II needed a clean but it loaded after a few attempts, Pressure Cooker Seemed to end early but will try and play them all today but could be final versions, i'm not sure but they do have cat log numbers typed onto the top labels. I'm not claiming these are ultra rare but I think they are seldom found. Antony
  6. Well I might get a Maurader and it's worth asking. I didn't mention condition so someone might have a Miner II with a not so great box so I guess it's up to the person whom wants to trade to decide. As foe "Espial" as I said (you never know!) meaning probably fat chance on that one. I have some Activision potos now so should be able to get an Espial with some sort of trade on those. Also I forgot to say "PAL" Miner Vol II is not as rare in PAL land ; )
  7. Hi, Would anyone like to trade my CIB (PAL) BOMB game "Great Escape" for something rare. I know its not anywhere near as rare as the NTSC version but still very hard to find CIB with mint cart. The cart looks new and the paperwork is 9/10 excellent! comes complete with inner tray (tiny little splits in the corners) the main offender condition wise is the top window panel missing (which is common on these) but the box is very good otherwise with nice corners and no crushing as you can see. I'm looking for boxed CIB Tigervision games Marauder or Miner VOL II or Espial (you never know) some are in Canada but seem like snails teeth these days. I'm open to any loose R7s and i'm valuing my game at £50 CIB (so about 80 bucks) (Loose you can pick some Bomb! carts for £15 in PAL land but CIB "forget about it" Thanks Antony
  8. Trade offered for a sealed Arcadia Supercharger with 4 sealed games (NTSC) I'm looking for CIB Espial and MIner VOL II (PAL or NTSC) and anything rare and interesting boxed. Also a Heavy Sixer would be nice or working Atari 5200 I value my items at $200 for sealed unit and close to $300 with the four sealed games. Worldwide tracked shipping will be included in the trade both ways at our own cost (i'm based in the U.K) I have traded on AA before and have 100% feedback on eBay under Atari-Attic1978 Thanks Antony
  9. I will be auctioning the jackets that were given to the medal winners of the 1983 word Centipede championships, seen worn by Centipede world champ Andrew Brzezinski (from the U.K) on the cover VSC owners bulletin Winter 1983. The red shirts were worn by all contestants, i've not seen another contestants wearing the Silver jacket only the 1983 world Centipede champ. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/214890-atari-competition-jacket-1983-brand-new-value/ The jackets we're commissioned by Porter + Pocock Associates (the jackets are actually labelled Porter + Pocock Associates; a London based PR company that made the jackets in ltd numbers for UK competitors. Only 2 U.K competitors were in the worldwide Centipede finals in Munich in 1983. I know of only 2 other examples of the jacket to exist in the world which were found 3 years ago when the PR company had an office move. I have only one and there will be only one sold (highlander). The only picture I can find of the jacket is the 1983 VCS owners Bulletin http://www.atarimani...etin-27_41.html If anyone has this jacket in their collection in the USA please let me know. I think its unluckily. Its possible that the jackets were only given to medal winners which would make it very rare indeed.
  10. O.K I just found out the international 1983 world finals were held in Munich. I'll need to find out if the London based PR company that made these jackets for UK competitors only.
  11. woo! I found Andrew Brzezinski on the Electoral role and he still lives in Middlesex, UK where the 1983 VSC owners club mag states the U.K ex Centipede word champ is from. I might be able to write to him and find out were only medal winners given the jackets!? or perhaps only gold medal winners would be nice.
  12. Its not on Atarimania's list of merch/clothing so (if you want decent pic guys let me know). I suppose these were only made in the UK for the 1983 worldwide finals (80,000 contestants overall; 21 world champions thought for the Centipede title in 1983, its possible only medal winners were given these jackets? So how many games, how many medal owners? I imagine the winners would have kept these. The PR company found two of these a few years ago (old stock) whilst moving offices in London. The competitors actually wore red jumpers with a patch of the world/logo on it. You don't wear a jacket indoors! so I suppose only the 1983 word hi score champs (medal winners) were given these jackets. Not staff jackets, possible an exclusive hi-score champ jacket and brand new. The 1983 Hi-score was winner was Andrew Brzezinski (from the U.K) with a score of 323,512 on Centipede as shown in VCS owners club Bulletin Winter 1983 (included with jacket) I might try and contact Andrew Brzezinski as that's not a common British surname so obviously he has polish heritage. I can ask if only medal winners were given the jackets which would be nice. I'll do some more digging.
  13. cool thanks, Yes i wanted to wear it as I trade in Atari and was going to do a trade stall for a large UK gaming event called Revival and wear it, I had to cancel in the end. Also I seem to put on two stone in the last year so its just hanging in my wardrobe and i'm not going to slim down into this unless I went on an LA diet. I'd rather it went to a collector that can spare a rare game than try and be greedy on eBay. I'm not going to ask crazy money but i can't seem to find another example NEW, and it has provenance so is the real deal. Thanks for the info...
  14. I have a brand new Silver jacket which were worn by high score finalists in the 80s. it came from a London office clearout of Porter + Pocock Associates ltd 3 years ago, They where the promotion and marketing company whom made these jackets in ltd numbers. They had only 2 of these, to my knowledge i've not seen any others for auction or sold in the UK or worldwide. Does anyone have an idea of value or would someone be willing to trade for a very rare game; a few i'm after Espial CIB (NTSC or PAL) Playaround titles CIB Cosmic Commuter NIB any lab loaners ; ) anything R7 CIB + in good condition. The size is XS adult so would fit a 36" chest so small/skinny adult. (Its marked as a 38" chest but its more an XS 36 in my opinion) I wore it once for my profile pic but its brand NEW! even has a card in the pocket with care instructions from Porter + Pocock Associates. As you can see the 1983 Centipede champ is wearing the jacket with his video game Olympic style medal. Very cool to wear at a convention or for your collection, there can't be too many of these about. I would not part with the jacket for less than £100 as i've seen only 1 other in 8 years on eBay and i'm obviously not going to find another new one or perhaps even used. Most Atari games can be found again so i think i'm parting with a unique rare item. I've seen the Silver Swingstar windbreakers/bombers fetch $100 http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fitm%2FNOS-Vintage-Swingster-Atari-Silver-Jacket-Youth-XL-Windbreaker-%2F390601687119%3Fpt%3DLH_DefaultDomain_0%26hash%3Ditem5af1acc04f I believe there are a few of those on eBay but not the one I have which is cooler I think, and far more rare.
  15. Just found a complete example of "The Detective" by Infocom any ideas of how hard to come by this is? comes with tons of paperwork, matches, clues, magazine, case file etc.. I would consider a trade for rare Atari 2600 games and perhaps a few nice Atari 800 disks "Dropzone" is one i'm after but i'd need a few games for this 2-3 as I think this has to be less common than games like Dropzone and it looks rather special with all the extras you get with it. I'm in the U.K but NTSC games should be o.k. I would perhaps sell it so offers can be sent on here or direct to [email protected] One thing to note is that its probably PAL or works on a PAL Atari so please bear this in mind. Thanks Antony
  16. yes does work, I had to remove the modulator (I say "I" a friend did the job for me) the example instructions show an early modulator which you usually only find on the Heavy Sixers so not sure why that was used as an example. yes its a simple transistor mod but does the trick. I need to get a decent Composite lead and will upload to pics but looking very good and recommended, expect to wait 3 weeks shipping time if your buying from Europe though ; )
  17. PAL mod Instructions found (link in the listing ) Ignore previous post.
  18. Hi, I brought one of these composite mods on eBay which work on both PAL/NTSC systems. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 300592126324 I've assembled the mod chip there are 3 wires one end for the composte connections: "video" "audio" "gnd out". On the other end there are 4 wires: aud - vid - +5v - Gnd in I just need to know the solder points chroma and Luna I believe? *schematics would be great as they came with none. Thanks Antony
  19. hey, I'm good thanks - sorry I missed your reply. Yes the game works (every time) the cart is as new - It's also a contendor for the worst Atari game music, sounds like a twisted fairground ride.
  20. Hey everyone, Happy Easter I have a rare CIB 9/10 used Home Vision Repro Cart (1983) up for trade complete in large VHS style box which displays the cart and instructions very nicely. The game on the cart is "Parachute" which I think is a PAL only game. Suncom, Quelle. Taiwan Coper and in this case Home Vision. The cart is 9.5/10 looks new, Instructions 8.5/10 box 8.5/10 all excellent! The cart has some weight to is almost 3 times a standard cart and is extremely well made. I'm a collector but haven't come across many of these. A few loose over the years. In line with what I paid for it and its rarity (in my humble opinion) I'm looking for game(s) of $50+ I'm a fan on boxes SEGA titles (Tapper?) Tigervision (Espial or Marauder) 20th century (Fast Eddie, Beany bopper, Worm War I) Obviously i'm not asking for a CIB Espial so loose would be o.k on that one a decent boxed Marauder would be great and anything R5+ and Interesting. Antony (UK) *NTSC is cool though ; ) I get to play games 17% faster (normal speed)
  21. Thanks for the heads up PingVin, I did read about that but wondered if/when Wizard will sell them and at what cost. Probably $50 like the big box vids or maybe $75 with repro carts but that beats paying $$$$ I suppose the seller with the graded copy wants to get rid of his before that happens as it will have a knock on affect on the CIB value of the game although a purist will want all original - I'd be happy with original cart original box (old stock) and repro instructions and then i'm paying $150 CIB rather than silly money. Thanks again
  22. Cool thanks, As long as the VGA know about the more obscure Atari games which I wondered. That does help about the laminated box paper. I can always smash the case open and feel the box if i won it. I hope that wont affect my refund rights
  23. Hey everyone. Anyone know if this is the original box and instructions for TCM http://rover.ebay.co...-/200906887001? I've had the loose cart a few times and Halloween and its hard to know if this cart has the thumb grips from the picture (which i've asked about). How do you know if its an original box & instructions? surely you can buy the cart for $100 get a repro box? then pay £30 for a condition authentication and a piece of plastic. I dont trust people that sell these graded sealed games, it seems they pay 15-30 to have the condition labeled and then charge crazy money Someones even trying to get £115 for a sealed E.T (FFS!) just makes me angry as a colector and fellow (honest!) trader. I offered £300 as thats whats its worth in my opinion - If i'm wrong and this is worth anything like nearly $2,000 then please comment. If i was selling that, i would include some provenance. Any thoughts?
  24. Hi, thanks cmart. I just found an old auction for the Melody Blaster CIB which sold for $77 so your bang on the money. I'm pleased with the values though : ) I paid £127 for the boxed synth, interface with a nice CIB Melody Blaster so almost exactly $200 so about right by the sounds of it or a decent price. so perhaps worth $275 top end to the right person for both items. I guess the Brown Synths were for the European market. I had never seen one before. I'm a big Atari 2600 collector but branching into Colecovision and Intellivision, if i find something interesting like these items. I might try and trade for a rare 9/10 2600 game of similar value, i guess this lot might be more fun than just having a rare Atari 2600 game to someone so my Melody Blaster should be PAL, usually NTSC games work on PAL systems but not the other way around so i need to find out if my Melody Blaster is PAL or NTSC. Thanks for your help, I had a similar figure in mind which was at least more than i paid for the lot, I just wanted to check with the experts. . Antony
