It seems that this device was built by Andre LaMothe at the San Jose Computer (California) between 1983-1985. Andre is an old Atari 800 programer and well known computer scientist. Hi, Yep...a couple of them are common but Compute!s' first book of graphics is not easy to find. I did find only one book of How to Program your Atari on Machine Language in ebay (Germany) and it is priced at 35 Euros, Also, the quality of the books I have seen is not that great, and mine are very clean no broken or dirty covers, little or no underlining...overall...good books to have in any Atari Library! Hi, I opened the blue box and I found a "Cheep Talk Board' with a SPO256A-AL2 on it so it is a Speech Synthesizer! The ROM board as you said must be the action programming cartridge as it looks professionally done. It has labels on the top of the chips and one said left Action and the other right Action. Anyone who has that Action cartridge could you please check if it is the same ROM board. Thank you, DA
