  1. Those are interesting ideas, especially being able to search the status updates and being able to convert selected updates into a forum thread. I'm sure people have requested the ability to search, so I imagine Invision will add that soon. Converting status updates into a forum thread is a bit more work and I'm not sure we'll see that as a standard feature, but perhaps someone will make an appropriate mod. That side bar is also used on profile pages (but only when viewing the "Recent Status Updates" tab). It could be taken out easily enough, but I'll leave it in since the fewer features I modify in the skins, the easier it is for me to maintain several forum skins as well as perform upgrades down the road. http://community.invisionpower.com/user/155841-fire-man/ It is interesting, and it will be more interesting to see what happens once we have the ability to reply to specific statuses and maintain a running history of them. ..Al
  2. Not yet, but that is coming soon with a forum upgrade. More information here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/168656-forum-upgrade-coming-soon-some-details-here/ ..Al
  3. I've heard that this is some sort of "publicity stunt" (which appears to be working) and it'll be back in a few days. ..Al
  4. Carmen, there was no reason to post this same topic in ten different forums. I have merged all the topics into a single thread. Please do not do that again. ..Al
  5. This thread has gone beyond its original purpose, and I don't want it to continue to degenerate into one solely attacking Laird. I'm therefore closing this thread so this energy can be vested in more productive and positive matters. Laird, if you don't want this type of negative attention directed at you, write some original software and share it and I'm sure people will enjoy playing your games. It's as simple as that. ..Al
  6. Yeah, I haven't posted any pictures from Flickr since their site redesign. That is a bit of a pain, although I'd always go through and post larger pictures anyway (since the old "default" picture size was fairly small). It's an extra step now, so not that big of a deal to me, but it shows you where they're headed.. ..Al
  7. Stop trying to deflect attention from yourself, at least those hacks are clearly labeled as such and nobody is trying to deceive anyone as you have done repeatedly. ..Al
  8. Yes, I'm sure Flickr would prefer to have people looking directly at their site and not just hotlinking images. I'm sure they would have disabled hotlinking by now if they thought they could get away with it, but people would just go elsewhere to upload their images. ..Al
  9. You need to use the img tag with an actual image, not a web page as you did above. Here is the actual image: You have to click on "Actions" -> "View All Sizes" -> "Medium (640)" and then I right-clicked the image and selected "Copy Image URL" (this is using Chrome). I then pasted that link between the opening and closing img tags. It does look like Flickr is making it a bit trickier to do this since they are overriding the default right-click menu with Javascript when you normally view an image. ..Al
  10. Yes, when looking at the list of topics in a forum click on the number of replies for any given thread and you'll see a popup with this information. If you open the link in a new tab or window instead, you'll get a full-page listing (same as you linked) instead of a popup. ..Al
  11. This has absolutely nothing to do with web browsers, much less IE9 (which I frankly couldn't care less about--people still use Internet Explorer?) It's about upgrading the forum to the latest version, which brings various improvements and fixes to the forum. ..Al
  12. So once again, when asked to reveal proof of the volumes of bullshit you spew, you make excuses. Misquotes? By all means please show me who here besides you is trying to take credit for others' work.. I only wish I had read that long WoS thread sooner. ..Al
  13. Would you mind telling me who you asked over on WOS so I can verify this myself? ..Al
  14. I believe the Stadium Events was ultimately sold for much less than the $40,000 the auction ended for. ..Al
  15. I'm not going to get into a debate about the good and bad about sniping. I personally use esnipe.com and have been using it for a long time. I have a grandfathered account and can use it for free on items ending under a certain dollar amount (don't recall what that is right now). Works very well!! ..Al
  16. It's not clear if he means stripping out the cutscenes and making them available as a separate "movie", or just selling them as a standalone movie for those who like to watch cutscenes (presumably they would be edited together in some coherent fashion)? Obviously these big game companies are not making enough money yet. ..Al
  17. No, not really. This is caused when the browser doesn't load the page's stylesheet. I've seen this sometimes in Firefox with AtariAge and other sites, and when it happens I generally need to restart the browser. It's not a problem with the server, but a browser issue as far as I can discern. ..Al
  18. I've seen adds for the past month or so, and even further back if your counting Walmart or game stores. And the people interested in the game have been looking at this thing for at least 6 months now. I do believe your sarcasm meter is broken. ..Al
  19. It's because you have YouTube opened in another tab. ..Al
  20. I don't think I've ever had a cart full of grass clippings. I make no comments about the hair, though. ..Al
  21. How about I say "NO" and shut you down right now, Ken. Bye. ..Al
